Waverly Beach: Wisconsin Lake Life with Miami Tiki-Bar Energy…read more This place caught me completely off guard~in the BEST way. Coming back to the Fox Valley for my high school reunion, I expected to revisit some familiar territory. What I didn't expect was to find a lakefront destination that felt like a little slice of Miami dropped into Neenah. Waverly Beach Bar & Grille is a vibe. The outdoor patio and tiki bar are easily the biggest draw for me. Boats pulling up, drinks flowing, the water stretching out in front of you and that nighttime moon reflecting across the Ocean (MidWestern lake)~it legitimately gives you that "Am I still in Wisconsin?" feeling. The photos don't really do the location justice. Inside, there's plenty of space and a cool atmosphere that would translate extremely well for birthdays, reunions, private parties and other events. Then there's the staff. Michelle, Dakota, Jason & David--THANK YOU! We were there for our reunion and the service was phenomenal. Everyone brought positive energy, which unfortunately isn't something you can take for granted in the hospitality industry these days. Food~wise, I sampled the buffet and enjoyed the tacos. And as someone who loves exploring craft beer, having Spotted Cow on draft all night definitely made me happy. That said, I feel like I only scratched the surface here. The verdict: Waverly Beach isn't just somewhere to grab a drink. It's a destination. I'm coming back because I need to properly explore the food, beer selection and, most importantly that cute bartender they were calling Ms. Jackson (In my OutKast voice~IYKYK), & spend more time on that patio. My next business trip out there is in like 11 days, so I'll definitely stop in for the Brews.Views. & Food! Brews. Views. Food. Wisconsin ocean front property life. That's a combination I can get behind.

Waverly Beach is massive! The parking lot alone is huge, and I counted four bars--three inside and…read moreone outside. The waterfront setting is fantastic. Boats pull up to the sandbar, people swim in to grab food and drinks, and the atmosphere is lively and fun. When we visited, there was a live band playing and they had a Brewers game special: two 22-ounce Miller Lites for just $7. I honestly think this place is bigger than anything similar in the Milwaukee area. Whether you're looking for a casual day on the water, a large party venue, or even a wedding location, Waverly Beach has the space and setting to handle it. Definitely worth checking out!

About 10-13 tables. They can seat larger groups, I think one of the tables fit about 8 people. Service: I see what other people were saying about the tipping culture, they made it very obvious peering at the receipt at the tip amount I left. I left 20% so they didn't say anything. Refilled waters once and about a 20 minute wait on the food because they were quite busy with in person dining and take out orders. Drink: I ordered the sake and it was delicious and served nice and warm. Food: The food was really quite good, I only ordered the wonton soup and the hunan shrimp. The wonton soup broth was really good but I wish the wonton itself had more filling. The hunan shrimp was perfect, shrimp and vegetables were cooked really well and there was a nice faint spice to the dish. Definitely can't wait to come back!

If your goal is to get a very hefty portion size that is tasty then this is the place. However, the reason for the 4* instead of 5* was the service. It wasn't awful service but you could tell most of their staff that English is not their main language. So it was hard to hear the waitress when asking us questions. Two of our guests would speak Spanish to them so it helped, but not for the rest of us. When we asked for waters, we didn't all get waters. When we asked for (& paid for) the additional tortilla chips, they were brought after we got our meals. We had a table of 12 & for how much the tip would be expected, you'd expect to see the waitress more than 1x outside of taking our drinks then dropping them off/getting order, dropping off food, & dropping off the bill. Great place if you just want the good food.

The service used to be awesome - they knew you (or acted like it). The bartenders are rotated in from the dishwashers now.
