Not much open this time of year. Had my kids with me so we settled for Coyote thinking it was better to just eat here than drive to McDonald's 25 minutes away. I wish we took the drive...... Service was slow. Sat down at 6:45pm... got our waters and the waitress didn't come back to take our order until 7pm. We got our food at 8pm.... Ate quickly and left by 8:20pm... A good option for the limited restaurant availability during the summer here in Waterville Valley. Seems sort of odd having a restaurant above the town athletic club... You have to walk through that to get to the restaurant on the second floor. Overall, they do a good job of creating a nice environment in such a setting. Went with a party of 12 on May 3 It wasn't super busy but our food took over 45 minutes The first plates were the Korean ribs. 3 of us got them. They were cold The rolls tasted like they had been defrosted but maybe had freezer burn When one member of our party asked for the manager and explain to her about the Korean ribs being cold. The manager was very short with her and said I'll take them off the menu and walked away. More food came and they were other issues with food being cold so the same member of the party tried to Explain some of the other issues. The manager cut her off and said oh, and I bet you hate your steak too, and when the member of our group tried to continue speaking with her, she walked away. Wow! If I could give them 10 stars I would! My fiancé and I were planning on getting married in April and needed a place to hold our reception for our small wedding. The General Manager, Nathan Peterson, was BEYOND amazing and accommodating! He gave us a huge list of options for us to choose from and we couldn't have been more excited for our big day. Then COVID-19 happened! We had to reschedule multiple times and pray! Nathan was incredible and continued to work with us and keep us informed. As the weeks and days got closer, we knew that him and the entire staff, would do everything they could to help us out and make our day perfect. They did NOT let us down! The food was AMAZING! I'm finally getting to talk to my family after our wedding and mini honeymoon and the one thing they are raving about the most is the food! This is the best food in Waterville Valley. Having lived here for a few years, we know if we go the Wild Coyote Grill, the food will be good. For this visit we came on a icy weeknight. The restaurant was quiet, just a couple of people a the bar. The service for this visit was good, pretty responsive and not overly attentive. We had starters, BOGO raw bar on Thursday nights is a good draw, we had oysters. I had an arugula salad. Both we well prepared and delivered quickly. My entree was Gorgonzola Walnut Ravioli with mashed sweet potatos. The concept was promising but the execution just didn't pan out. There was a brandy cream sauce that was probably the star of the dish, but there was so little of it, it was unfortunate. I didn't really taste the gorgonzola, another miss. But I sure tasted the sweet potatoes, there was so much, I couldn't finish it, plus it really overpowered the dish. My companion had the sausage flatbread pizza. He said it was really good. It had a nice crisp and thin crust, that I noticed. I had a Boston Mule, a variation on the Moscow Mule (this had no mint). It had both lemon and lime with ginger beer. It was tasty and I like the spiciness of the ginger beer. As mentioned, the food here is pretty reliably good. The Bison Meatloaf over mashed potatoes and creamed corn was amazing (I still think about that creamed corn)! read more

My wife and I were in Waterville Valley for the weekend and we ate dinner at Coyote Grill twice and it was excellent both times. There were two weddings in the Valley that weekend so it was very busy, but the staff and the food was wonderful. My wife has multiple food allergies, but the waitresses were very attentive and took care of the ordering to make sure it was OK for my wife. On our first dinner, my wife had a salad with salmon and I had caesar salad with grilled chicken and they were both excellent. On the next night, my wife had a salad with haddock and the fish was cooked perfectly. (Being in the middle of the White Mountains in NH and us coming from the Boston area, we have had some great haddock, but this was some of the best!) I had the pork chop and it was incredible, very thick and cooked to perfection! The waitress, Emily Samson, was wonderful. She was very kind and conscious of the allergies and made us feel very special because my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary! We spoke to the hostess, Kayla, after the meal to tell her how much we appreciated Emily and we had a great conversation with her. (She even told my wife about some great ideas for dealing with food allergies!) The staff and the food are excellent and the view of the mountains make Coyote Grill an amazing place to have a special dinner. read more

We went on a busy Saturday evening after a day at Waterville Valley. We made an online reservation for 5:15 and when we got there it was already starting to get busy. We were seated and our waitress promptly came over to welcome us and take our drink order. The place quickly filed up and was quite loud. We ordered the chips and dip appetizer and the cauliflower appetizer, both were good, but we all agreed the cauliflower was the stand-out. For meals we got the short rib special- my husband said it was just ok- not as fall-aparty as he likes, I got the mushroom ravioli which was delicious although a very small portion, my daughter got the kids pasta and sauce which was a massive serving compared to the ravioli, and my son got the steamers which he enjoyed. All in all it was a nice meal although it was definitely very busy and loud.. The staff does a great job of staying calm and organized. I would love to try them again during the daytime to take advantage of the panoramic views from the dining room! read more

I'm not sure how this place is so high rated but we just left and are extremely dissatisfied. I would not return here or ever recommend it to anyone. I will say that our server was excellent and if not for them I would have most likely left without touching our meal. The food was not even mediocre. I ordered the crab cakes and caprese salad. The salad was inedible. The caprese"salad" was an unripe tomato sliced part way through with mozzarella inserted between the slices and swimming in a pool of cheap tasting olive oil. It was difficult to cut due to the hard, unripe tomato and tough mozzarella. The one bite that I managed to try (with the help of a steak knife) tasted like straight oil. The tomato should not have been served. It was hard, grainy, colorless and flavorless. The server returned eventually and asked if the salad was "not what I expected" and I said "yes, the tomato is hard and the dish does not taste good". They apologized and took it away but there was no mention of replacing it with something edible and I was still charged for it. I don't understand how a dish can be returned to the kitchen barely touched and no one cares enough about service or quality to address the issue. I would have much rather been told that they aren't serving the caprese tonight than to have been served that inedible mess. Not to mention having to pay for it yet leave hungry. The crab cakes were edible but I wouldn't call them good. There wasn't much crab and the "summer corn remoulade" is tartar sauce with corn mixed in. The tartar sauce taste was overwhelming and I had to scrape away the pool of tartar sauce to make them palatable...so that I could have something for dinner. read more

Had a party of eight. Sat in two tables of 4 next to each but had two different waiters. Very strange. Food came out in shifts about 10 minutes between 1st plate and last plate. Many times they went to other tables trying to serve them one of our dinners just to realize it was the wrong table. So crazy and never apologized or came over and told us when to expect the next plates. It was very disappointing. When we walked out, we actually made a comment about the food was good, but the service was bad and the people who were walking out in front of us commented that they felt the exact same way. I did notice it made me very thirsty after so it must have been salty even though it didn't taste salty. Went on a Sunday with the kids and they ate free so that was nice. We had a fantastic time tonight at Coyote Grill! Lynn is an exceptional server who genuinely cares about her guests. I was torn between the lamb special and the butternut squash ravioli, and she took it upon herself to ask the chef if he could give me both!
