We were recommended to try this place for their enchiladas! We had both the chicken enchilada and chicken verde enchilada. These were good but felt that something was missing, maybe salt or maybe something in the sauce. That being said, there was a TON of chicken inside. What we REALLY enjoyed was the coconut shrimp. Amazing restaurant in Laguna right on the beach. Waiting can be big even at odd hours so keep in mind, you can reserve a spot on the phone. Parking is an issue but valet available at 4$ cash. Lots of vegetarian options available including beans, rice and if we can know cheese can be done. Love the veggie burrito and the veggie enchilada. Always a must when in town. We have never had anything but amazing food and service. Today was another great experience. Sat quickly with a beautiful table out on the patio overlooking the ocean. Prompt and friendly service from everyone. The coconut shrimp (as pictured) was to die for. That breading was dessert like. The Shrimp tacos were so light and full of flavor. We ordered drinks and sodas and everything came out rather quickly! I will say our waiter was nice, kind, fast, and checked in on us! I was a bit surprised by the taste of the food. It was pretty good, but didn't have the wow factor. When there is more flavor in the rice, beans, and chips and salsa compared to the tacos, it left us a bit unsatisfied. It seemed like a lot of people enjoy their food, so maybe we are off for the day. I feel like with how the prices were, the tasted of the food would be better and more fulfilling. Well, it looks like I got lucky finding this place so close to work! Very easy to order online which is how they direct you to do so over the phone. Customer service was nice, the ambiance was cool and welcoming. Now the food, I could consider a 10/10. Simple but just enough flavor, and same with the size of the portion. The street corn is amazing and flavorful, but I do feel that they should use sweet corn instead of the plain kind they use initially. And the price- well you can't beat it. I ordered fish tacos, which turned out flavorless, and lacking any bit of salt/seasoning, and flavor, despite having all the fixings on top. The rice and beans were ok, but also bland. We even had to add salt to the chips and salsa. Not that the food was bad, but when you go to a Mexican restaurant, you expect a certain amount of flavor. But again, I would still enjoy coming back again, I'd just order differently next time. Although many years have passed, and my kids are full grown adults, Coyote Grill continues to be a great choice at the beach for a fantastic meal. I got a carne asada tamale with eggs and it was fabulous! We had a 15 minute wait because we wanted to be out on the patio.
