I stood in line for almost 20 minutes just to turn my modem in as I was over, the service being interrupted almost weekly. The Internet was extremely slow for the price I was paying my son switched over to Verizon. The customer service at Cox is absolutely awful. I will say the store was clean. read more

I'm really trying to get away from writing negative reviews. But as a devoted and loyal Yelper I have to report things how I see them to give you, the people, a pre-foundation of businesses I visit. With that being said, let me just say, that "I wish I never wasted my time visiting Cox Residential Digital Solutions Store at the Peninsula Town Center in Hampton Virginia". So I went here with my daughter to exchange her old digital modem for a new one which she did most the transaction online. All she had to do was turn in the old modem and get the new one. THATS IT! Ill start by saying the store is very modern. They're customer service terminals all over the store. Some are full service and others are self-service. This is good because we visited on a Saturday afternoon of a 3-day weekend. BIG MISTAKE. The store was packed with customers waiting to be served but that was not the problem The problem was they only had two (2) customer service reps working in the entire store that I observed. There were at least 20 to 25 people waiting to be served and they did not look happy. One customer service agent yelled out to the crowd to utilize the self service terminals if you just need to make a payment, no one moved. Obviously everyone was there to make some other transaction. We went to the sign-in terminal to get on the service waiting list. Our spot in line was so far down on the list that we could not even see it on the monitor. My daughter became so frustrated that we just left that fine establishment. I really believe with the amount of money people pay for cable services they should get better customer service. As a customer I felt less than a customer. Someone didn't even take the time to make sure enough customer service reps were available. I know things happen, but I don't think this was one of those situations. My daughter did come back at a time that was inconvenient for her to get modem. My recommendation is try and conduct as much business online as possible. And only visit these service centers if you just so happen to already be out or you absolutely have to. STAY AWAY! Oh, I'm only giving them two stars because the store itself if very nice, reminded me of being in an Apple Store. read more

Would give it no starts if I could , I went to the store got wifi brought it home and it worked perfect for the first day and a half , mind you I work from home ! I was in the middle of working and my wifi cut off I went thru hours of getting transferred around to different people who said the EXACT SAME THING . Finally I got fed up and went to the store they told me I had to pay 100$ to have someone come HOOK IT UP . mind you I paid for the month ahead of time and it was working once before so I'm asking them why would I have to pay for someone to hook it up if it was already working once so they gave me a new box and the exact same thing happen they are scammers ! read more

The Cox store was fairly empty when I walked in to return my cable box. I sat down, after signing my name on the sign-in sheet and was helped after about 10 minutes, then out the door 2 minutes later. If you have issues with your remote just walk in and they help you ASAP! My dog chewed up our remote and they gave me a new one free of charge! Pretty good customer service there. The layout of the store is pretty useful in testing out the many products they offer. The waiting area is centered around their TV setup, conveniently. read more

I Came here because I had a cable box to return. I Was greeted immediately when i came in and and asked was this a location i can drop off a cable box. The gentleman told me yes so I went back to my car and grabbed the stuff. We Went to his computer and he verified my info and handed me a receipt for my transaction. Everything was nice and simple. Cable not bad but the internet is the worst I've ever had and not worth what I'm paying

I am a longtime Cox Customer of over 20 years. I have recently moved and wished to transfer my services from my prior residence to my new residence, which is a new construction. Installation was initially scheduled for December 27. The installer arrived and after looking for the underground wires for approximately an hour he determined that there were none and that Cox would have to obtain a work permit from the City of Hampton, VA and would then have to burry cables underground prior to installation inside of my new home. The installer informed me that Cox would take it from there and that I would be contacted with the new installation date. Several days passes and I was not contacted by Cox so I made contact via Cox live chat. I explained the situation and expressly stated that lines needed to be buried and then I was given a new installation date. When the installers arrived they told me that the lines had still not been buried. They assured me that a work order to bury the lines was placed. I followed up by contacting Cox once again and informed them of everything that had taken place thus far and that the lines still needed to be buried. I was once again give a new bury date as well as installation date. The installer came out again and informed me once again that the lines had still not been buried and that there was nothing that he could do on his end until this was resolved. I called Cox again and informed them of this. I was told that burying of the lines and installation could not happen on the same date and was given a new date, which was today, for the lines to be buried. I called Cox today to determine when the crew was coming to bury the cable lines. After being transferred to several representatives and remaining on the line for over an hour I was told that Cox would not bury my lines today due to inclement weather and that a permit was never even obtained by the City of Hampton, VA. I requested a date of when I might expect resolution to this situation and I was told that one could not be given but that I would receive a call in 2 -3 days. I am very frustrated with the level of service that I have received. I have been without cable and telephone services for nearly a month and I do not even know of a date when I will have these services. I believe that I should have been Contacted directly by Cox via phone or email when these cancellations have occurred. read more

Other than having to pay bills here,the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about all they have to offer. The layout of the store is nice, it is neat and clean.Of course I don't enjoy paying the bills,who does,but I like the store. read more

Store hours are until 8PM. I called their number at 7PM and they kept picking up and hanging up on me. Not to be deterred I kept calling until they picked up, I could hear the employees talking in the background, and they placed their phone off the hook. The poorest customer service ever. Their commercials are so friendly, but reality is a cold slap the face........I switched to Verizon the same day. read more
