I'd give them LESS THAN ONE STAR but it won't allow me to.... We had them hook us up 4 months ago. A kid came out and said he had been on the job2 months ... It showed... through no fault of his own. Poor or NO training. It took him OVER 8 HOURS to get it connected. Finally gets it working and leaves, late at night. He had trouble getting help without a smart attitude. (that was our first clue) Day ONE, signal goes in and out. Call them and they got it working again. Day 2, "searching for signal" was our best channel. Day 3, same channel. I called to cancel. They didn't like that ... I reminded them that FEDERAL LAW SAYS I CAN CANCELL ANY CONTRACT WITHIN 3 DAYS. They tried to get us to change our minds ... lol. They then told us there was a $470 early termination fee ... OH REALLY .... After a brief discussion they said they'd send a box to return their equipment. I also told them they no longer have permission to go into our bank account, ( I called the bank to make SURE) and to send a bill to us. We got the box over 2 weeks later .... We packed everything up as instructed, and sent it back. Then came the e-mails saying we owed 2 months of service !!! I figured it was just a glitch. We ignored it. Then comes another e-mail saying we had an overdue balance and owed $420 !!! And to call them IMMEDIATELY. That I did !! I was NOT very polite. I asked if they had ANY clue what they were doing... He apologized, and I did too. It clearly wasn't HIS fault. So after explaining everything, he told me our account was under review. We'll know in a couple weeks if we get an Attorney or not. NOT JOKING. If they think they're going to charge us about $1000 for nothing but aggravation, THEY'RE OUT OF THEIR MINDS. Oh, Almost forgot, I tracked the return box back to California and the USPS there stated that "THE CUSTOMER" refused the package ??? Not sure if that is a game to leave me hanging for the nonreturn of equipment or what ?? My next action will consist of alerting the CONSUMER PROTECTION and the BETTER BUSINESS BEAUREAU. ..... DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE INTO YOUR BANK ACCOUNT ... BELIEVE ME. We got ROKU ULTRA and are very satisfied. Should have went with them from the start. It sounded far-fetched, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. 10/24 - As anticipated, no response. Called again and spoke with Sierra who again, was of no use. I asked to AGAIN speak with a supervisor. After waiting for 1 hour 27 minutes (stupid me) with her coming back on the line every so often to assure me that the supervisor was coming, she disconnected the call. I guess that was her way of letting me know that a supervisor wouldn't be coming after all. Right back at you AT&T/DirectTV. Customer Service is the worst. My elderly mother just moved in to my house. I have Direct TV (no service contract any more). She had a service contract. We were told twice that since she was moving someplace that already has Direct TV she would not have to pay a cancellation fee. Then her final bill has a stiff cancellation fee. I call several times and each time get a different explanation of the policy. In order to get around the cancellation fee, we would need to cancel our service (which is bundled in with our AT&T phones) and move her service to our house. We already sent her equipment back. They would have to reactivate her account. How stupid is that? So we are canceling Direct TV completely and will look for another provider. read more

Customer since 2002, been very happy with the quality of the product they deliver and very good customer service. ive read people aren't happy with their price point and their contracts. Like everyone else they do have a contract and a term you're committing to. Read and understand it before you sign it. If you move to a place where there's line of sight issues, they won't stick the contract in your face (or anywhere else), they will let you out of it. Try doing that with Cox. I moved where they didn't have service. Wasn't their problem, they made it mine and I had to pay. I've stayed with family and friends that have tv service from others (Dish, Cox, FiOS and UVerse) and the quality of their equipment (functionality) and signal issues don't come close to Directv. Granted there's price point differences, but I like them and will stay with them. Just easy to deal with when you do have to call them for some reason. Installation appointments are a joy compared to what I've gone through with Cox and ATT (those were for Internet, but they each did offer TV services) read more

I've had DirectTV since 2011. The monthly service fee is high, I can't have a football party since the service is unreliable. The service has been out many times in the last 7 years. Currently my service has been down for a week. The only available appointment was noon to 4 pm on a Saturday so I have been stuck here all day waiting for service. I got an automated call 2 hours ago saying "we haven't forgotten about you". It is 3:50 pm. Crickets. Update. DirecTV representative was cordial. The dispatcher was curt. Still not representative that has appear at my residence or called. It is 4:53 pm - appointment was noon to 4 pm. Wasted Saturday. Still no DirecTV service or service technician. direct tv sucks , stay away. reps are incompetent, I don't even know where to start. The technician came in for 10 minutes looked around and said we had to cut out a tree from across a street from us, not on our land about 100 ft in order to get it installed. He also suggested that we ask our neighbor to cut it down then I called to cancel all together, one rep offered $300 gift card, yet somehow we got disconnected, called again, transferred apprx. 5 times, no notes on my account about the gift card, finally called again and a nice lady was able to help out with closing the account, she said the rep voided my account and wanted to create a new order but thank god we go disconnected and he wasn't able to run my credit again I hope. Just an FYI to people. If you are thinking about getting DIRECTV please reconsider. They are a horrible company and provide the worst service. My service went out and took a week to get a technician out to fix it and the technician unhooked my internet. I tried to get Direct TV out to figure out what the tech did and was told multiple times that they would and then finally after the 5 hours and the 4th call later I was told they would not be sending anyone. 1 star is generous... There should be a 0. Very disappointing and poor customer service. I canceled my account with them on 11/13 and I was told by Mike that a recovery kit would be mailed to me to send all the equipment back. On 11/18 I received an email that a refund of $117.36 is due to me. Neither did I receive a recovery kit, not did I receive my refund, so I called on 11/23. The person I spoke with didn't seem to have any information, she transferred me to "Bill" somewhere in India... Bill reassured me that the package was on its way to me via FedEx and that he escalated the refund so I would receive within 7 business days. On 12/5 and I still have not received anything from Directv!!! I was not able to get any help through customer service so I messaged them via FB and here's what has happened: 12/6/17 - KeishaD responds to me via FB messenger that they would look into my account. 12/7/17 - JeniferD would like to discuss my issue further. She starts from scratch (again) and wants a phone call which is wasting time if you are working human being like most of us. 12/7/17 - I send over confirmation of my account cancellation and a refund due back to me of 117USD and change to JeniferD. I also send her confirmation that the recovery kit was FedEx-ed to me a few times, but I never received it. 12/10/17 - JeniferD confirms that the recovery kit was re-shipped (AGAIN....) 12/11/17 - I message JeniferD that the confirmation email about the recovery kit shipment shows an invalid tracking number (AGAIN...) 12/12/17 - Response from JeniferD "Hello Bogi! I was trying to contact you but unfortunately I wasn't able to reach you. Please let me know what time would be more convenient for you. Remember that you can also call me at: 800-417-1757 extension 5762 or if you prefer chat you can ask me for a new link and I will gladly send one." 12/12/17 - I complain that the kit never makes it to me... Now the story is that I just have to drop it off at a FedEx store and not wait for a kit. cording to JeniferD it is a new thing that Directv started in November 2017... JeniferD tells me that as soon as the items are received, my refund would be processed... 12/13/17 - Directv items shipped 12/27/17 - I inquire from JeniferD when my refund would be processed - DiaD (NOTICE THE NEWPERSON) responds back that she would look into it and asked WHAT IS MY ACCOUNT NUMBER was? STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN BECAUSE THEY DON'T TAKE THE TIME TO SCROLL UP AND READ THROUGH THE MESSAGES. 12/28/17 - I send over my info and the response I got was that they would "EXPLORE THE OPTIONS" on my refund. Two things I really do not like..... Sales rep told me what ever I wanted to hear to get me to sign up. ie me: "I really do not want a contract." sales rep: "Dont worry. There is no contract unlike comcast." (LIE) The second is the price more than tripled once a couple months passed and the (apparently copious) discounts expired. I went from ~$50/month to over $150! Was led to believe differently. BEWARE there is a $260 cancellation fee! They also asked about my internet situation since I told them I was just moving in and since they wanted me to subscribe to there cinema direct down load service. The sales rep told me to go with Clear internet saying that it was perfect for my needs (After I explained my needs), that I would get a discount if she connected me to them. directly. As it turns out the Directv installer refused to hookup the cinema direct citing the terrible service and download speeds and how they render the service unusable. It turns out he was correct. The internet service partially sold to me by directv could not support there needs nor my own. Interesting to note that upon cancellation the directv rep denied any connection to clear essentially calling me a liar. read more

After installing a wireless system in my home the trainee explained everything about it to my wife and I, and she said that she understood it and was very happy with the service, and how it works. I scheduled a movers installation. When the technician came my son who wasn't 18 was at home. So he couldn't install the equipment. Instead of allowing me to call in and reschedule the appointment, they canceled my account and told me i had to go through new accounts again which required me to pay a security deposit. You know the age old adage cheaper isn't necessarily better? Well this couldn't be more true. We switched our cable provider to Direct TV to save money monthly on our cable bill. We've been customers for maybe 4 months and it's been a disaster. The slightest rain will knock our service out, so imagine what an actual rain storm does. We've made multiple calls to Complain to customer service however, our issues continue. We even had a technician come out to our house to ensure the placement. Well what do you know, absolutely no change. Needless to say, we will be switching back to our other "more expensive" service for reliable cable. read more

Was looking to get Verizon triple play in my beach home....but no FIOS available there, so Verizon pushes you to DirectTv....who they have deals with...verizon came did phone and Internet, next day Direct was suppose to come out to do an install...appt was from 8-12, Guy showed at 10:40 which wasn't to bad, but because of rain and water some water under crawl space didn't want to be stuck in wet clothes for the rest of day so told us he'd be back making us his last call....we waited, and waited, and waited....never showed, Also had told him and dispatcher we were only down for the weekend, where we were assured it would be done....left late Sunday, no show, no call..... Going with Comcast! Worst part being we found out guy NEVER has to go under the house! Steer clear, as they're installers obviously don't know what they're doing. read more
