I have had cable TV since the 1970s. TELCOM SYSTEMS is BY FAR THE WORST I have experienced.

Telcom has been my internet provider for over six years. The downtime I have experenced in that time has been minimal, but when it does happen, their response has always been exemplary. Their crews sometimes have had to work throughout the day and night to restore service, and all the while, customers are kept informed of their progress, along with an estimate of completion. Horrible ISP. We moved into this apartment complex a month ago and since then there have been 2 outages, one which I missed an entire day of work for and now I'm supposed to be covering a shift but can't because it's down again. This looks terrible on me from my job's perspective and who knows how long it'll take for them to restore it. Unfortunately this is the ISP our apartment uses so we don't have any other choice. Telcom is the worst internet service on the planet we lose service every 2-3 weeks. Then when you call them no one knows anything. We moved here not about a year ago the internet had to had gone down about 15-20 times. its 2021 and this trash company cant keep up a crappy third world country worth of internet (30Mbps) to people that pay. My internet has literally NEVER been what i have paid for, for the past year. I live in an apartment and EVERY SINGLE DAY it drops down to 1Mbps. How the hell does a company like this still exist, it needs to be sued and destroyed. I cant even facetime my family on the west coast because of this trash service. If you are shopping around for an internet service provider (ISP) Stay away from this one, you tennets will non stop complain about it and the technical expertise of their technicians is that of a fourth grader with a volt meter. Trash ISP that actually uses a FIOS pipe and leases it to all of us apartment dwellers. You never get what you pay for and you cannot pay for faster speeds as they simply do not exist. It should be illegal to offer such "service." read more

Every two weeks the service has an outage and it takes at least a day or two to fix the issue. Mind you, there are numerous of people work from home! Then most people that live in my complex has children and as we all know that all homework is provided and completed through laptops, they need internet but they can't even complete homework because of the outages that repeats itself. Worst. ISP. ever. Disgusting customer service. Hands down the worst customer service and service provider to ever deal with. Brittney, who apparently has no supervisor and the only customer service representative you can speak to, can only say "I'll forward your information to someone who can call you." Refuses to call ANYONE to help address a dire situation. Refuses to do ANYTHING to actually help. Ask to speak to a supervisor? Nope. Ask to speak to someone else at the office? "I'll have someone call you." Disgusting they can get away with this. Still no internet after 5 hours waiting and our business has to shut down because no one can, at least, call you back in a timely manner. There are constant internet outages. There is an outage happening at this moment (close to 24 hours). This becomes a real issue when your work from home job and children's homework assignments are dependent on internet services. You can reach out to customer service to speak with someone in a department that handles escalations, but Amanda, in customer service said that there is no department that deals with escalations. So, if you miss an entire day of work and your position solely depends on reliable internet service, how does the company rectify the situation? They will probably give you a $1 to 2 credit on your next bill. By the way, this is not an in ISP that I chose. There were no other options because of the community that I live in. read more

Telcom is the only provider I've ever had this much displeasure dealing with. In the first 2 months, we've experienced more than a half dozen, multi-hour outages. Though I'm paying $90/month for 250mbps, I've never gotten more than ~100 via Ethernet on a good day, with wifi being under 80 at all times (usually between 20-60mbps if it's even working). Do yourself a favor and avoid any complexes that require you to use Telcom, especially if your job requires you to have reliable, remotely usable internet service. We're going to be forced to break out entire apartment lease just to get away from Telcom so that we can keep our jobs. Not sure how the BBB hasn't downgraded their acceptable rating yet, as this company over charges, and under delivers - so much so that the customer service reps even admit how terrible their services and prices are. read more

Unfortunately, my apartment complex only uses them, and the customer service is horrible. I'm paying for service and don't get the television stations anymore which I should. Then when you complete the scans you still don't have the channels. If I could only put zero stars I would. Hand down the worse telecommunications company read more

Absolute trash. The wifi goes down with alarming regularity and it's always someone else's fault. They appear to have maybe two people in their call center so wait times are always unacceptably long, except when you get their overflow office, who don't actually do anything (including pass along messages). The one time I got a call back from a manager he was condescending and rude. No one who uses this service does so willingly, I assure you. We have no choice because our apartment complex has a contract. The only good thing about being Telcom's customer is it's lit a fire under my butt to buy a house outside their service area. I am fed up with Telcom. A tech came out to my apartment ran test, realized it was my phone jack changed it, changed wiring and I thought it was solved. WRONG. The same damn problem exist and I'm sick if it. Internet in, out. On and Off what is the freaking problem!? I can't even complete my work! Terrible customer service. I moved into my apartment a month ago and was suppose to receive a call to start service. When they never called, I called them. On the day of install i missed answering the door by about 1 minute. Literally. When i called back the lady instructed me that i needed to learn how to answer my phone when i was called. this service is second rate. i just moved to woodbridge from falls church. i have had numerous channels and virtually no problems. when i moved here and signed up for service because my tvs are "not new enough," i can't get the channel guide, channel 2, and therefore cannot find out what is playing. they suggested i get tv guide or pay $30 a piece for 2 tvs gadgets. sorry, to me this is second rate service. i wish i had an altrnative. read more

The apartment complexes did themselves a huge disservice by making whatever contract with this unethical and unprofessional company. Forced to use this service when I moved to a Senior complex. Service is very bad. Satellite ( Dish ). I hate it. Tenants should have a choice, not forced to contend with inferior service. I refuse to pay for Wifi. No promotion, no discounts. Nothing yet charge over $55 per month. Not sure how they are still in business! I previously had Cox, wish I could use them again. read more

Who did these people pay off to become the sole provider in many apartment complexes (including mine) in Virginia Beach? They should not be in business. Please be very careful about moving into an apartment complex that uses these people as a sole provider. You're in for hours of frustration. We moved to Virginia Beach from California 3 weeks ago (this company would not last 2 weeks in California), and, from day one, it's been a constant battle with these folks to get what we paid for. The initial installation crew sure did arrive promptly, and they also left quickly without explaining anything, without telling us our account number or even phone number. I had to call repeatedly to get our phone number. It is very difficult to reach customer service, and frequently the phone will be answered by the "overflow" team who tell you that they will relay a message and someone will get back to you. THAT NEVER HAPPENS. If "overflow" answers, save your breath. No one will call you back. If you do get someone from customer service, they are all very pleasant, but 3 out of 4 DON'T DO ANYTHING. I've had customer service people actually tell me that my prior requests were logged in their system, but NOTHING was done about them. The CS rep is very pleasant, agrees to do something, then does nothing. These are their "services": PHONE: we ordered phone service but the phone would not work. After multiple unanswered calls, we decided to just use our cell phones. After 3 weeks of incessant phone calls, just yesterday I think I succeeded in getting never activated phone service cancelled and the charge taken off the bill. Maybe. CS people have ignored previous promises. INTERNET: I will be notifying whatever governmental agency regulates internet providers (probably FCC) about what I consider FRAUD. You may pay for "Gold" level service, but YOU WILL NOT GET THE SPEED you're paying for. If you can't provide the service you're charging for, you are committing fraud to keep offering it! As long as no one else in the complex is using the Internet, you will approach the speed you're paying for. As usage increases during the day as people return from work, your speed will decline massively. I regularly experience a 66% drop in speed during the day. By 8pm, I can actually see a web page loading. Check your speed at any of the internet speed sites (http://beta.speedtest.net/result/6644605208 OR http://www.bandwidthplace.com/ among many) to check what's happening. It's not pretty. TELEVISION: the service is only marginally adequate (recorded shows are often pixalated or sections skipped over) and involves stone age technology. They have no whole-house DVR (record on one device and watch the show in any room in the house). You have to order a separate DVR for every room in which you want to watch a recorded show and they will charge you a separate non-refundable $50.00 "device free" for each DVR (in addition to their installation fees). They must be buying used outdated equipment from quality providers. If none of these issues effect you, you'll probably be fine with this service. Unless you have a problem. read more

Never have I loathed a company as much as I do this one. My apartment complex will not let us use another company and telcom seems to think this gives them the right to be a shitty company. The service constantly goes out. I'm currently sitting here trying to work and my stupid internet will not stay connected. Their customer service is rude. This is the worst provider ever. If you are thinking about using them, run far away! Paying a little more for a better company would definitely be worth not using this one. Horrible service. Forced to use it because the apartment complex has a contract. This seems to be a common occurrence with this particular so-called cable / internet service. I don't know where these people came from but I know it would be a matter of time for them to go out of business especially since their cable and internet intermittently goes out with the slightest hard breeze, rain, too hot even. run don't walk get your own Wi-Fi hotspot because this one is not reliable at all and the TV listings aren't great either with missing channels. read more

They're worse than f*cking Comcast. I HATE that my complex does business with them. They have an "after hours" call center that's f*cking USELESS. They answer the phones, but can't actually do sh*t. My internet CONSTANTLY goes out on the weekends, and the call center can only tell me someone will give me a call on Monday. I would NEVER recommend this sh*t company to anyone. read more

This is the worst internet service provider I have EVER had in more than 20 yrs of ISPs. The customer service is atrocious and the technicians sometimes seem to know LESS than I do about how to fix the constant issues. Unfortunately we are locked into this company because the apartment complex we live in only allows their service which I think must mean some sort of kick back from the company. We pay $60/mo for the middle tier service and are told we have "high speed internet" but I have tested the upload/download speeds and they are SINGLE DIGIT MBPS!!
