My husband and I had an exceptional experience at ATT yesterday because of Denzel W. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, polite, and respectful. He patiently answered all of our questions and we ended up buying 2 new phones (iPhone Air)--not because he pressured us but because we needed them and he walked us through the type that would best suit our needs. This location is "hit or miss." It seems that some employees know what they are talking about, some simply don't and some just say whatever they need to say to satisfy your needs at the moment..then after you leave, you realize that you were screwed! It seems as if no one is on the same page! My fiance' and I have been here several times as we have our cell phones, iPads, Aple Watch and Direct TV all through AT&T. We are on the verge of switching to Sprint. The reason why we are still with them is because of the last representative that assisted us (I cannot remember his name but I have his business card somewhere. This store is garbage. I've sat here long enough to start and probably finish a Yelp review and haven't been helped yet. By the way I've been here nearly an hour in a store with 2 reps and 1 manager on duty but literally 4 customers in the store. I'm not crazy enough to think it's just today. If it were more people I'd understand but the customers are on the phone with customer service and I know because you can hear every conversation in the store and the reps are just sitting back watching them talk to customer service rather than helping the next customer and going back. Maybe its store training I dont know. Also I'm here only to pick up a phone. Something that only takes a couple seconds. Already paid and signed for online. I stopped by Friday to pay my bill while a coworker upgraded to the iPhone 4. Its in a strip mall do their location is fairly central, although parking may be scarce due to their proximity to Starbucks. When I first walked in the place was packed for an 11:30 on a Friday. All of the sales associates were with customers and I was greeted by a sign in sheet on a podium. A quick glace around the store and I saw the computer payment station so went there before it was assaulted by the steady stream of people following in from lunch. "The Good" - JP (Retail Sales Consultant) took care of my coworker and the man knew his stuff. Very professional, multitasking without making his customer feel like he was abandoning them to deal with someone else and at the same time making everyone know that you would be taken care of. Honestly, the best customer service I have seen in VA in a very long time. When you end a transaction with a handshake you know the man takes pride in his work. - The rest of the staff were also fantastic. They worked as a team. When one of the girls went in the back to get something JP asked her to bring back the phone my coworker was buying. She listened in stride and I swear I never saw her come back out but a few seconds later the phone was on the counter and she was back with her customer at the front of the store. - They have a decent selection of the latest and greatest phones and basic accessories. - I was also impressed when JP said that they would install the screen guard for no charge when my coworker complained that every time they tried there were bubbles. Little things like that will make people come back to the store no matter what they are selling. - The patience of the staff when dealing with difficult customers. Kinda similar to the goofball that was in the store, on the phone with customer service talking above the normal range so he could be heard asking "How do I cancel my account?? What is the charge to cancel my account today??" They waited until his name was called in order and dealt with him the best they could. - All in all it was a great experience and they were bumped up from four to five stars after I reread this for the customer service alone... "The Meh" - There is no real long term need for me to regularly visit an AT&T store, unless I wanted to run a "How To" on how to treat people. I may come once a month to pay my bill just so I can people watch for a few minutes though. "The Bad" - When you walk into the place there really is a sign in sheet, but a person letting you know that you can sign in or use the computer terminal would be better. read more

I went in yesterday to get my first ever iPhone! I was so excited and yet a little nervous, kinda like how you feel when you're about to go on a blind date - You've heard horror stories, you've heard happily ever after stories about iPhone & blind dates, you just don't know what to expect! Well, I took a deep breath, came in the front door and said to my AT&T salesman, Darrin, "Hi, my name is Vanessa, I'm here to meet my first iPhone." He was very pleasant, enthusiastic and informative. He made the whole process (date) smooth and simply delightful. And at the end of the (date) I spent less money than I thought I would! Great date! I came here to get my mom's phone fixed. She had the phone for 3 years and the sound finally gave up. Unfortunately they sold the last flip phone right before we got there. The salesperson was very helpful and suggested we buy a prepaid phone and he would switch out the SIM card. He also made sure the numbers transferred over. Thanks at&t for helping out my 81 year old mother. I'm never disappointed with the level of customer service at this location. read more

Spent three hours in the store just to upgrade three phones! I was told that it would be about a 30 minute wait that actually took a good hour. Then another two hours to get through the upgrades. I don't think it's the individual store that's slow; it's the very long process. AT&T should look into streamlining the upgrade and new customer setups. I had to sign at least 8 times plus provide our access code and last 4 of our social over and over. On the upside the store associates are extremely helpful and upbeat. Evrytime I have gone into the store for any reason I have been helped by someone with a smile on their face. read more

Went in with a friend to try and get her phone fixed. When we entered we were greeted and asked how we could be helped. My friend explained her situation in needing to replace her phone and gave the old information switched to the new one. The attendant directed her to someone who could help her better. The next associate that helped her wasn't helpful in the least. The woman was very curt, looked highly uninterested, and was chewing gum the entire time. My friend explained the situation to which the woman said they couldn't help her and she would have to get a new phone. My friend explained to her she had an insurance plan for her line to which the lady told her it would still cost a great deal extra to replace and that her phone would be refurbished. When my friend asked about transferring her old information over the lady told her that wasn't possible. My friend said she was able to do so previously but the lady brushed her aside. After trying to talk to her my friend decided it would be best to talk to a representative on her he phone rather than continue with the lady. We left and my friend hasn't been back since and probably never will be. Interactions like that make you reconsider switching. read more
