The employees are nice it's the company i don't recommend. Faulty equipment but still charged. They don't show for appointments, make excuses, they will charge you multiple times and then you have to fight for a credit because they did so. Go with anyone else other than COX. read more

While I do not recommend Cox as a company or service and will spend whatever time it takes to secure reimbursement for all of the money and time Cox internet has cost me (I have the receipts), I am giving the store a five star review. The reason for this is Demitri. He is amazing. He is kind, understanding, and I feel confident that he will provide excellent customer service to anyone that walks through that door. My issue was not with him and I had already signed a contract with a new provider when I arrived. Please, Cox, give him anything he asks for, because he's worth it. Ps. I'm coming for my reimbursement or my goal is to cost Cox the money I lost 500-1,000 fold. To quote Tupac, "F@*# peace!" read more

Cox Store - Television Service Providers Near Me - Alexandria, Virginia

We called about our Cox cable, which went down on Sunday morning early in the morning. First, they told us that it was our modem and that we needed to buy a new one. We bought a new modem. The new modem didn't work. Before they would send a technician out they said that they would charge us if it was internal and they sent a technician and they could not send someone out until Monday morning to fix it. The technician came out Monday morning and reinstalled something on the pole outside assuring us that it was a box from years ago that was analog and that the boxes were now digital. He then checked everything in the house and we thought it was working and when he left the Internet went out again. We called the company and they sent him back out, but could not give us a time as to when he would come so I was stuck at the house all day. He did not come until 6 o'clock. We were eating dinner and I have a 10 year old who is sick. The gentleman spent over an hour here and finally got the Internet working again and when he left it went off again about 20 minutes later. My husband then called Cox back and the representative had no idea how to help us. All he kept saying was that that he could send the technician out. We are very upset at the service that we are getting after years of using Cox, Internet, and cable. My husband begged them to come out over the weekend because he works from home and my daughter needs Wi-Fi for homework and tests. Cox representatives said they would put us on a priority list and two days later it is still not fixed. read more

Incompetent thieves. Paid final bill after moving out. Took post office 60 days to deliver. I told Cox the date and check number of final payment. They sent to collections anyway. After 60 days Cox finally withdrew from my checking account. Still sitting on my credit report as unpaid. Also charged for additional TV that never existed. Charged $22 month for 18 months, called to get my money returned, instead I kept being transferred to different departments. Complete incompetence. My advice get Direct TV Or Fios Xfinitey. Even Dish Satilite. If you are wise with your money and wish to watch uninterrupted TV stay away from COX!!!!! read more

We moved from another state and so we signed up with Cox because they definitely said they serviced our new location- WHAT a mistake- we have Cable TV and internet and they have been down for over 24 hrs for Cable TV - the internet is OK-July /2022 very inconsistent - also Verizon IS available - because our address was a new address they were confused- So with bad initial information we went with Cox and now we are going to change read more

Services got canceled 3 times by the system when it wasn't even connected yet. Techs didn't show up twice and missed work for 3 days. Spoke to a customer service MANAGER for 45 minutes and FINALLY got everything straightened out and was PROMISED my first month of service for FREE. Got an automated call about the bill being late. I called customer service, then got sent to sales and then got sent to billing where NO ONE could "find" the notes about my first month for free, because of their lack of integrity and communication (irony). The ONLY reason I gave them the 2 stars is because of the tech that finally came by and was cool and the strong internet. That's it! read more

Can't believe I am saying this, but...I would prefer Comcast. I've been seeing all these commercials about how great Cox is, and was excited, until I actually got it. Internet is slow, phone call quality is low, caller ID costs extra, you need to dial a million numbers to get to one person...ugh. Internet quality is so bad that I can barely Skype with my overseas solider - not cool. Thankfully, Verizon is working on getting FIOS in my area. I cannot wait. I know this probably does not help anyone, because if you want cable, you have to use Cox in this area...but still. It feels good. If you are reading this and moving here, maybe consider some sort of Dish/DirectTV/Verizon/Cox combo, instead of the Cox bundle. read more

My pro rated service for 5 days was $100+ Beware!!!!! Get an antenna. There really had got to be a better way/ service. I don't know why I ever went back. Deals only for new victims , then x months later you get stuck. Especially sad when the service provided is erratic. read more

I realize that I am suppose to hate my cable company for a number of issues, but I just can't say that at all. For the most part, Cox Cable has always been fairly reliable, and this store has helped me save a bit of money with special offers and temporarially suspending service for extended vacations. In fact, when my internet modem had to be put down like Old Yeller, the guys and gals at Cox hooked me up for half price. Sure, paying for cable sucks, but for over 10 years, I have been mostly satisfied with the service at Cox. However, as soon as my cable goes out, or I have to wait all day for a cable guy that never shows, I'm certain that I will be one of the first to cry, "Et tu, Cox Cable?..Et tu? read more

I'm sure anybody dealing with Cox knows this but AVOID selecting them for your provider at all cost!! I am stuck in an apartment where they are the "only" provider so I have to deal with them, and here's what I deal with! I have been on the same plan for years, no specials and no increase notice and they tripled my bill!!! That's not completely straight yet but they are supposedly "working" on it!!! Every 2 months they change my service or fees and I have to spend more time on phones to get it corrected! I tried changing my system online and it got so messed up with their delays and incorrect programming it took 10 days to get back to just "screwed up," where it sits today!!! Once they turned EVERYTHING off two weeks prior to the date I requested to end services and it took two days to get it back on!!! They really are the worst run company and the absolutely the worst internet provider!!! Their service goes down all the time, I have to reboot 2-4 times a week and you never know what's going on!!! Infinity and Verizon are the systems to get, Verizon costs a little more but very, very worth it!!!!! read more

Truly too bad Yelp doesn't allow 0 to negative stars as this place would get a negative 1000! The absolutely worst - horrible - customers service (if you call it that) on the planet. Going in there is like being drug to your death and watching your own funeral. It's dark, no words exchanged, you are treated like you do not exist and they don't give a damn if you do. Sad that Cox is most likely aware of this but even more sad is that they don't give a damn either. They have most of us by the b**** - in my particular area, there isn't another cable provider and I am not technically minded enough to be able cut-the-cord. The government truly needs to step in and regular cable once again! read more

At this place, I've experienced the worst customer service ever in my life. People here are rarely equipped with ability to provide "solutions." All they say is, "Call the company. I can't do this. I would give you ZERO stars but I can't. Not only that but I every single day the cable freezes for at least 2 hours straight throughout the day or night. Why am I even reviewing this?! It's not like there are any other cable services available to us in this area! Take this! How wonderful is it to live in an area where no competitor cable/internet services are available? Cox, how nice of you to have a massive outage for over 8 hours during the World Series. Tried to call you over 14 times today and the line was busy for hours. All my man wanted to do was come home from a long days work, shower, eat and watch the game. But noooo you had to ruin it for him. If you had a face, I'd punch you! read more

1 star seems generous, but since it's my only option....I will go with 1 star. Too many issues to address (billing, service, etc.) but sadly in parts of Northern VA, it's all you have. If you do have choice in your area, do NOT choose Cox. If you don't have choice, try to suck it up, and find a house where you can get any other cable provider. read more

This rating is for Cox in general. This store location in Alexandria is the closet one to my house. No phone call or email when they were coming or they changed it. I originally asked for Thursday July 5th. Took off that day and now find out they actually scheduled on July 9 without letting me know. I had to called and asked when and I didn't see any rep today. They told me "sorry" and don't know who set it up and never notify and no note at all. I have two accounts with them at two different home, I'm so closed canceling it because of bad customer service/communication. When the REP come out for the service, the REP is actually nice and friendly. I would rate 4.0 out of 5.0 stars overall on the Tech that come out. read more

This review isn't directed at the store but more so cox as a whole. Recently viewed their current pricing for Internet only just randomly. A long while ago I used cox and it was alright service for like 60 bucks Internet only for a couple years. Slow at times though. I just felt it was way too dirty of them for jacking up the price to like 250 dollars after 2 years for Internet only service, not even the highest tier at the time. Options they told me at the time were to pay more for more service or keep paying 250 bucks for the same internet service. Very dirty to increase it by over 200%. The service was not worth 250 AT ALL in any world or reality. Went with Verizon after that final dirty cox bill. Verizon did a 2 year thing as well but they didn't Jack up the price to over 200% plus. It's been at least 4 years now with Verizon. Looking at cox current pricing, I still wouldn't change back cause they will still probably Jack up the price by like 200% plus again. I just don't trust them and still don't even after looking at the pricing. read more

BEWARE of Horrible service Cons: -OnDemand almost never works (like right now) -They're over priced -Half the time, the channels are unavailable and don't function -OnDemand selection is poor -To get the cable working I have to unplug the box and hope it works when I plug it back in -Simple channels like G4 and TV Land I would have to pay for to watch. Instead I get offered a bunch of unworthy channels offered by the basic plan -I pay for the highest quality of Internet COX has to offer, so you would think it would deliver good service, WRONG. It goes down often and only works with certain routers -When I'm gaming, sometimes I get lag Pros: -Customer service is friendly (they actually recommended Comcast) Verdict: Do yourself a favor and do your homework, also if the area you're moving into offers only COX (like mine did), DON'T move in. (I'm going to go watch DEXTER now hopefully the channel works) read more

I never had any problems with this store. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I've never had to wait, but they do have a login system for when they do get packed. When I went o return my equipment and close out my account upon my move, I was treated kindly and the process was smooth and relatively quick and simple. No hard sales tactics to try and get me to move the service with me, and come to think of it, I've never really experienced any hard sales tactics here, which makes for a much more pleasant experience. It is a little tricky to find, so be persistent and ignore your GPS. It is there, I promise. read more

We have been trying to transfer service to our new home for a week. An installer came out, installed the wrong equipment, channels we paid for were not included, the customer service rep "downgraded" our service instead of transferring service so now we have no DVR service, none of our premium channels - literally the only thing that is working is the internet. This company has wasted my entire day. We decided that the only thing worth our while is the internet service. We will be returning the cable boxes, the phone service will be ended, I am over the pure incompetence of this company. I will be using streaming services like Hulu Live, Netflix, etc...Cable is dead. read more

This review is mainly based on the customer service received. My boyfriend uses cox cable and needed to go to this location to purchase a new box. The service was prompt, the girl who signed us in was super friendly & pleasant, they have a flat screen playing sports in the background... oh yeah, and they passed around snacks to everyone waiting! What more could you want for going to a cable company??? Not the visit I was expecting. Based on my boyfriends experience with them, he has had a few miscommunications with the company where they charged for visits that were supposed to be free, but he ended up getting reimbursed after talking to the company and has not had any problem since. read more

cox sucks!!! i had the service for less than 2 years and there were billing and service/equipment issues from the very beginning that cox refused to resolve despite the fact that i paid my bill on time and in full every month!!!! they also sent me a letter that says, "we welcome the opportunity to assist you and have assigned the executive escalation team to personally assist with any account-related support you may need during this time. we request that any necessary communcation be conducted by u.s.mail using the address provided below or via email to executive.escalation2@cox.email". "welcome the opportunity to personally assist"??? i gave them months of opportunities and they never assisted with anything!!! it was an endless loop of useless executives who get paid to do nothing and completely ignore my complaints while still charging me in full every month for service that i proved to them did not work full time!!!! i even emailed suzanne.foy@cox.com (executive director, customer care process support who actually doesn't care about customer support at all and had replied to my emails initially and then lied to me and stopped responding all together), scott.wise@cox.com (vice president of customer care who also does not actually care about customer service, is not "wise" at all and who never replied), peter.lilly@cox.com (svp customer operations, no customer service or replies to my emails from him either), and pat.esser@cox.com (president and ceo, completely useless and incompetent ceo who cares absolutely nothing about customer service). i know they all got my emails though because they were forwarded to the executive email address. i called customer service multiple times and they never offered to send a tech to my house!!!! never!!!! everyone beware: it does not matter one little bit if you pay your bill on time every month, cox will still disconnect your service just because they don't like you (a fact not disclosed during installation)!!!!! nobody told me exactly what i did wrong to be treated so horribly!!!! i did not create all the equipment issues but i had every right to complain about them!!!! i did not create the billing issues, but i still paid in full and on time every month!!!! am i ever going to get my service back???? it's practically impossible to get any decent cable or internet service in this area because verizon sucks too!!!! then what am i supposed to do when i need internet service???? find another job and move to another state???? that's just not even practical but i'm looking into it anyway because i have to have internet from one of only 2 service providers in fairfax county and i didn't even do anything wrong to have been put in this position!!! and stop having "jill" the automated texter posing as a human, text me telling me "not to disconnect my internet just yet" (i didn't!!!! cox did!!!!), that i'm a "valued customer" and that you want to make things right, and offering me a 40% discount on my internet service (that cox disconnected)!!!! do you disconnect the services of all your paying, "valued customers" or just me???? if you wanted to make things right you never would have disconnected my service for no reason and without notice when i did absolutely nothing wrong except pay my bill on time!!!!! never text me again unless it's from an actual person who actually does want to make this right!!!! it's bad enough you royally screwed me over because i complained about the service not working (which i had every right to do) and sent emails to the address i was told to, now you're also going to harass me with phony text messages!!!!! completely unacceptable!!!! and while you're at it, never send any of your junk mail to my home ever again!!!! cox sucks!!!! read more

Signed up for Cox using their Silver plan. Online the Monthly Bill was advertised as $79.99. Two pages before check-out the Monthly Bill was $85.99 because of some added taxes. Received first Monthly Bill and its $112 with all the hidden fees. The $85.99 amount is no where to be found on the Bill. Also, every time I log-in to my account online -- it switches my Billing to Paperless Bill without me doing so. Be Careful!!! P.S. The technician that came to our property was very miserable and told us that if we don't give at least 9/10 Star Review, Cox will consider that his installation was a failure. Not a generous or forthcoming company!!! read more

Unfortunately, this is the lowest rating that could be selected for this predatory service provider. And this review is not about this particular store. Here are some reasons Cox should be avoided like the plague, or the covid virus: 1. The internet plans are overpriced; 2. The connectivity is inconsistent. I've had to turn the router on and off at least once a week to reset to get consistent wifi coverage for about a day or two; 3. Their agents need to be trained about billing issues. I was told billing due dates are about a week earlier than the start of my billing period. I asked why and he could not explain. 4. Agents also need to be trained in customer service. When you decide to cut off the service, courteosness gets cut off too. especially if they can't convince you to stay on for a lower price and a much lower upload capacity. Bottom line - Cox sucks. DO NOT get Cox for your internet service. If this review is able to convince at least a couple of you folks to avoid Cox, then I've done my good deed of saving you from this predatory company. read more

I worked for Cox for several years. I spent the last year of my employment with the company working at this retail location part-time while I finished up school. I have come in here about 3 times since I left the company. All three times I had an issue with the service provided by the rep in the retail center and they are the same issues I spent nearly all my time correcting as an employee of the company. Cox's service is not all that bad and quite frankly I have been quite happy with it for years. This review really is only about this particular retail location. Here goes. As stated earlier I have been here 3 times as a customer. Each time I came in to get 1) a DVR 2) an HD-DVR and 3) a regular HD box. I would ask the rep to write down what my monthly rate is, every single time the rep was off. For trip 1 I had to call the call center because the rep did not arrange the services on the box correctly. The rep was actually quite rude and just wanted to rush me out of the store. Trip 2 same thing, rude rep who wanted to get me out of there as fast as possible. This rep actually offered me a promotion on the HD-DVR telling me the HD was free for 3 months. After going to the website to look at how much HD normally is I realize COX DOSENT CHARGE EXTRA FOR HD SERVICE ANYMORE (they did when I worked there, an HD box was like $10 more than a normal box). So this rep offered me a promotion on something that was free? She couldnt of given me a DVR promo becaus I already had DVR, if I know that SHE should of. Trip 3, I come in to get a regular HD box, actually I had no problems here. 1 out of 3 guys, not very good odds. I have another complaint. When I asked if Cox had DVI cables no one knew what I was talking about. If you work for a cable company and dont know what a digital video interface is than you should look for another job. So really the problem about this place and other cable providers is that they put people who don't know what they are doing out there on the forefront of their company. Some of these customers that come into the retail centers I almost guarantee you will know far more about the services, installation and general methodology of modern audio, video and internet technologies than the employees representing the company. They really need to train a huge majority of there retail staff better (this includes many of the reps in the call center). read more

I have had bad customer service from Cox cable in the past and unfortunately am forced to use Cox again now due to lack of other cable services at my address. They are showing to be consistent in poor customer service and complete lack of professionalism. My installation appointment was scheduled for 10-12 pm, at 11:30 I received a call with no apology that the technician was running late and would likely arrive around 2:30 pm. At 5 pm I called again and was told the technician was in site at the residence before mine and would be at my house soon (??? No time estimate or apology). I cancelled and said this was a horrible way to treat new customers. I missed an entire day of work waiting for the technician and ended up with no cable at the end of the day. This is absolutely unacceptable and so unprofessional. read more

I called the customer service number. I wanted the Economy Package with the Sports Pak. Initially I was told that I needed the Advanced Package in order to access the Sports Pak, but an exception was being made. I was quoted a price of $38 over the phone. When I went to pick up my cable box I was told my monthly price would be roughly $80, not the $38 I was quoted. The reason? You can not get the Sports Pak with the Economy Package, but this is not what I was told over the phone. The representative, while polite, was inept navigating through the various screens on his PC and was struggling to give me any information on this mix up. After 35 min, I walked away and now I'm on the verge of ordering Direct TV. I am very disappointed. read more
