This is a review for the professional and caring treatment I received trying to find a facility that would be able to continue my care after a bi-lateral total hip replacement. Melissa called back after a short period of time and did everything she could to accommodate me. She called back with a proposed schedule and it seemed that she had created early morning timeslots for me. Unfortunately Cox does not take my insurance so in the end I did find someone who did. But I was so impressed with the effort she made to help me, I wanted to recommend the place despite the fact we had not worked together. read more

I was referred to Cox Physical Therapy after having a less than positive experience at another physical therapy agency. The difference was night and day. Cox provides a full hour of comprehensive physical therapy at each and every visit. This included shoulder mobility with my physical therapist, supervised exercises and recovery afterwards. There is always one person assigned to each client to ensure all movements are done correctly and efficiently. At my prior physical therapy agency, I was frequently told what to do and then sent off to a corner on my own to complete the exercise without any real supervision and sessions were never more than 30 minutes total. Patients were always overbooked and you didn't receive any individualized attention during sessions. I've returned on two more occasions to Cox for tennis elbow and a meniscus tear in the knee, and the care I received has always been excellent. Highly recommend them. read more

Dr Cox and her staff all receive 5 stars! I'd give them more if I could! I had a revision surgery on my hip. Let me tell you the first surgery was tough, the second surgery even tougher to heal from. I choose Dr Cox to do PT with this second time around. I am feeling so good! I am healed and pain free. AMAZING! The level of care here is above and beyond. She takes her time with each patient and carefully sculpts a workout plan, switching it up as your body can handle more. I have tried the other big PT offices in Burbank. I can tell you this is a huge step above. There's individual care. The workout is one on one. It took me a long time to write a review. I decided that it is my duty to Yelpers to do it. Bret was my PT. I went there for months. My pain got a little better in the beginning, but then it got worse. I was in so much more pain at one session that I was not able to do the exercise portion with Tyler. Bret sent me home early that day, skipping an exercise portion. With my pain getting so much worse, I did not return after that. Do not recommend! read more

I spent several months rehabbing from a total knee replacement revision receiving physical therapy from Bret and mostly Tyler at this small and clean office. The individual attention, listening to me complain about pain and eventually healing was and continues to be fantastic. I recently had major spinal surgery. On my last visit to my surgeon I needed to start physical therapy. He supplied a list consisting of 10 pages of therapists. Needing a office close to my home and I contacted 3 services and made my decision to use Cox Physical Therapy. My therapist is Bret McLeod an he is great after 2 months I have no back pain and I am walking 25 blocks a day. I still l have more work to do to get to 100% healthy but I am confident that Bret will get me there. I have had many orthopedic surgeries and have used many different therapists but none as knowledgeable as he Bret. The facility has the latest equipment and is a very comfortable place to workout in. The staff is great. The company has been in business for over 15 years. If you recently had surgery or a sports there is no better place to get you back to a healthy state. read more

I have had physical therapy a few times in my life. I only wish that my previous treatments had all been done at Cox Physical Therapy. Found Cox Physical Therapy searching online for locations close to my home. I had never heard of them before (after living in neighborhood for 35 years) but surprisingly, there they were - just across from Lakeside Car Wash. Their Yelp reviews convinced me to make an appointment. After finding Cox and working with Physical Therapist Brett for several sessions, I finally realized how transformative PT can be. I've had two hip replacements and several different PT experiences. I only wish I had known about Brett earlier, as I believe my life could have been significantly better, having less pain and mobility problems. Here is the bottom line: Do not waste your time going to any other physical therapist. Because that is what you will be doing. That is what I did. Learn from my mistakes. Dr. Cox is professional, knowledgeable and is not afraid to share her your knowledge with you. She is calm, observant, intelligent and she will help you to get better quickly. Because she knows what she is doing. Her office manager and assistant are also a complete joy to deal with, they are great people. I actually looked forward to my physical therapy appointments. I had my hip surgery with the top surgeon on the west coast for my specific problem. When it came to physical therapy time and I told him that anywhere between Burbank and Pasadena would be convenient for me - Dr. Cox was the first name. He didn't even entertain anyone else. And honestly, even if I lived further out, I would make the trip to see her. And I hate LA traffic. She is that good. I was actually scheduled for surgery for tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) when I decided to get a second opinion. My new doctor did not recommend surgery but instead referred me to Dr. Cox for physical therapy. I must admit I was skeptical at first because of the severe pain and discomfort I was experiencing. I have been through several orthopedic surgeries and multiple physical therapists. Hands down Dr. Cox was the best PT I have been to and as long as she is practicing I will not have to search for another. She is thorough in her evaluations, a great listener and an even better motivator. I had two hip surgeries two months apart and the second one really took its toll on me mentally. But, if your physician writes you a prescription... you have the right to choose where you want to go for treatment- as long as your insurance approves... and they will. WHY NOT GO TO THE BEST? I live in Toluca Lake. I recently underwent a Uni Right Knee Replacement- painful as hell. FORTUNATELY I chose Cox Physical Therapy. These people are the absolute Best! When I visited them for the first time, I could barely walk, even with the cane. When I completed my treatments last week, I was dancing! OK, I exaggerate a little, but I am almost back to normal. Very little pain now and excellent mobility. Karleen Cox and her staff are uniformly EXCELLENT. Absolute professionals, they cater to your individual specific needs, and they work you hard toward your individual goals. They don't hold back and yet, they are compassionate, sensitive and kind. Most importantly, to me- anyway, it was a lot of fun! That may sound crazy, but it is true. They have great senses of humor, along with the often painful workouts- which makes all of the therapy more bearable. Don't get me wrong- they make you work through the pain- but with a bit of humor. They even offer "Jeopardy" by way of"Alexa" if you are so inclined. Also music of your choosing. Am I "over-the-top" here? I don't care. When I first found Karleen some 12 years ago, it was for a knee problem. She fixed me. Later I had a lower back issue. She fixed me. Then bursitis and two shoulder surgeries later, I am still her biggest fan. Not only are my shoulders better, they are back and as strong as ever.
