Pure incompetence, been on hold 4 hour!!! Over charged my bill, then had the nerve to raise my bill $30 dollars a month when I have had non stop issues with service. Just yesterday I waited ALL DAY bc they kept changing my window times. I have a list of names and times. These people just put you on hold for HOURS or disconnect calls- Run!!!!!! At around 2:59 p.m., I contacted Cox Communications to start new services, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I've had. With over 20 years of experience in customer service, I can usually tell when someone enjoys their job and values the customer experience. The first representative I spoke with seemed very laid back--possibly a work-from-home employee--and lacked professionalism and basic customer service skills. For someone looking to start new services with a new company, this was not the impression I expected. The next representative I spoke with spent 36 minutes explaining package details. I was very clear about what I wanted, yet I was placed on silent holds several times for several minutes each, with no explanation. When I asked to speak to a supervisor to address my earlier experience, I was simply transferred back into the general queue. After reading Cox's reviews online, I can see that I'm not alone in this experience--and that's concerning. If I could give a negative 10 rating, I would. I had to leave town abruptly to Florida when my mother living alone in her private residence was diagnosed with Terminal cancer in July 25. in September I realized my cable bill and WiFi were still active and charging me nearly $300/ month. I've been a loyal customer to Cox Communications for 10+ years and when I first began as a client my bill was a standard $59.00 per month. Once you become a loyal client, instead of giving you perks, they reward you by consistently raising your bill. The plus side is that the service is infrequent and so your Internet is down just when you need to use it. Now my bill was raised again up over $100.00. For such crappy service, I will be switching to Quantum Fiber as they offer a hard wire to your property for $50.00 per month with no contract requirements and triple the speed. Cox is a complete scam. I'm not even going to touch on the billing in this review. I moved in March and signed up over the phone. The representative repeated my information back to me over the phone. I received a message stating that I received my modem, I called to let them know I hadn't. The representative on the phone that day said that it was delivered and gave me an address in Arizona. I have never lived in Arizona so not sure where they got that from. Sh told me I had to call UPS to have them return the equipment. I called UPS and they said that I am not authorized to make this request. It has to be the sender. I went to the physical location on Ft Apache and Sahara. The representative there was training a new employee and said that is the sender's responsibility and not mine. He handed me a new modem on the spot and said there was nothing else I had to do in regards to the equipment sent to Arizona. I have started receiving collection calls about the equipment sent. I once again came to the same location and the representative that helped me today said he couldn't help. I have to call and talk to billing. What is the purpose of having live people if they are gonna be useless helping customers? As far as the service, I'll attack that another day. read more

My personal experience while transitioning apartments may serve as preparation or warning, especially if you work from home: Kept service in apartment 1 (service to be terminated on 1/16) while paying and opening new service in apartment 2 on December 19, finally got service today on January 5. Meantime service in apt 1 terminated on 12/15 and incurred a $250 charge for box to be returned by 1/31. Hours spent online trying to resolve service needs were hopeless. The online chat folks never resolved the service issue and illegally modified and up charged my services after I refused added services. Why would I pay more when basic services couldn't be provided. I just received a statement confirming my new services which are triple the cost of what I signed up for. They lie. The sales rep told me that if i signed up for their mobile services because they were really pushing it, I could get that service and my internet down to $50. No taxes or fees just $50. I did not want another phone and I still had to put out some money for their cheapo phone which really does not work well. The service is terrible too. It remains off all the time. So I get their phone service and now I am paying $51.26 for the internet and $16.26 for the phone. I KNOW it was not supposed to be that because I remember thinking how excited I was to have my cable bill to $50. So like all big companies THEY LIED. They know what they are doing. I've had Cox Internet for over 15 years in Las Vegas with good results. A recent incident propelled them over the top in our opinion, all because of a Cox technician named Carlos Murillo. We had a significant remodel of our home and had to live elsewhere for six weeks. When we moved back into our home on a Saturday, we learned an electrician had moved our modem line a few feet away from its original location using a coaxial extension. We could not get on our network at all. I called Cox, they tried some reset procedures with no success. They scheduled a technician to come out Monday morning at 8:00 am. Cox's Carlos Murillo showed up exactly on time, was extremely polite, and even offered to wear protective coverings over his boots. He looked at the work the electrician had done and said it was the cause for us not having a live internet connection from that cable. He said we would have to tear open the wall to discover exactly what the electrician had done. Instead, Carlos recommended using another cable outlet for our modem. We agreed that would be best. Our electrician happened to call as he was supposed to come over to our house to continue working on replacing and installing outlets. I asked him what he had done regarding the cable modem outlet as we could not get a signal from it. I stated Cox was here and moving the cable modem location to another room. Surprisingly, the electrician, who lives nearby, came over. He asked very defensively of Carlos what was wrong with the work he did on the cable modem extension. Carlos was extremely professional and answered his questions. He was so impressive! We had to find out how to log into our network and modem to change our settings. Even though Carlos had to get to his next appointment soon, he figured out how to get into the administrative online area to get our modem working again. Carlos was friendly, polite, and really knew what he was doing. He is by far the best technician we have ever had come to our house. He knew what was best for our situation and explained it quite well. His work was rapid and efficient. Carlos Murillo gets our vote for Cox Employee of the Year! read more

I seriously hate writing a bad review, but people do need to be aware when getting hooked up with Cox Business. To my regret, with no other options having the promised Internet speed - I've been a Cox Cable customer for several years. I watch their TV commercials and want to scream at the overwhelming dishonesty in them. They have to be the best and fastest speed direct cable internet because their is no other competition. When you are the only one, you have to be the best - - AND also the worst. The cable goes out sometime nearly every day. Usually when you are in the middle of important projects. I've given up calling in and complaining. They are aware of the service issues in my area, and are "working on resolving them" - years later nothing has changed. They will often blame your equipment, but even after replacing everything with their recommended products, nothing has changed but my bank account being much lower. I've, fortunately, dumped their outrageously overpriced TV and replaced it with Fire Stick and Air TV and super happy. In fact I get way more watchable TV than having a hundred garbage shopping channels I'd never watch, and wished I'd have done this years ago. Free TV like back in the good-old-days, whatever that means. I seriously dislike this company in every way possible - They are dishonest by making offers they won't support, constantly and quietly raising your pricing - so seriously watch out EVERY month. The quality of their service is horrible, with the Internet dropping out so frequently. Of course they require auto pay so you are already hit before you even know it. Then have to deal with the accounting corrections - Good luck with that. Have LOTS of time, and charge your phone for a substantial hold time. If I had any better option I'd dump these criminals as quickly as I could, but I'm stuck until our local government permits some competition - hoping for something truly high speed that doesn't constantly quit. Just my rant during another internet outage, for anyone that has an any other alternative I suggest using it. I do remember when the government protected consumers from monopolies. Do not trust Consumer Affairs, as Cox pays them to keep their ratings high. (Currently a 4 Star joke). That's low since they only send their temporarily happy customers to their review site. I had Cox business security and surveillance for two years. I signed a three-year contract. For the first two years they could never get my smart security system to allow any other person in my building to login and turn off the alarm. I submitted multiple tickets I think five or more never once was it ever fixed they just kept closing the tickets never did I get a credit or anything for not able to have my system work after two years and the problem being escalated all the way to tier 3 tech-support they finally let me out of my contract. At which point we scheduled a D installation date they did not show up for the D installation dates I called them they said they did. I said my equipment is still here they scheduled another day installation date for three days later, the technician came out removed all the equipment they continue to bill me for that service I contact customer support to let them know that they're still billing me for services and equipment that I no longer have. They emailed me with a form to sign I signed it sent it back and they told me I would get a credit on my next bill. I got a credit for my services on the next bill but I also got charged $830 for equipment I called back they say that I still have their equipment. I say your technician took it and you sent a supervisor the next day to verify in person that they did take it now I'm on the phone with customer service tech support and they're telling me that they had to do research on an issue for them to make sure that they got it and then if they do require refund the money, they will not refund it to my bank account. They're only gonna give me the credit toward future services so they're literally holding my money after they took the equipment. Customer support and management is a zero help there is no one that is competent in this entire facility. Everyone keeps blaming it on me the customer saying oh we didn't get this form filled out. You didn't sign this you didn't do this yet I've spoken to I can't even tell you how many managers and spent how many hours on the phone with these guys this is a racket. It is unacceptable business practice to treat your customers like this, especially when it's dealing with the security of their business . My rates increased $30 less than six months ago and today I got a text that my rate went up $100 this month. I have not added a thing, changed a thing. The service is awful, I have to reset my modem every other day, speed sucks and now they want to charge me $100 more a month. And it is not that I got 30 days to adjust. Text in the morning, and the new rate is already being charged to my account. I called and was on a chat with a very bad customer service representative, wasted 45 minutes of my lunch and she said "I can offer $15 off" but that way they are still raising my rate $75! If you use COX internet what they don't tell you...You need to update their equipment every 2 to 3 years I.E. Modem. They have you doing their work for them {Reset process" . I.E. unplug all, plug it back in and unplug again, reset the modem. check all the equipment, then they do a reset and advise their results which usually waiver on their side. 1.5 hrs later I don't have a pay check. I advise AGAIN a street issue since I've been in this house since 1999 it's always been a street issue. 1999 a street issue!!!!
