"How can I make this right?" This was not a phrase I heard from Edmond Cowboy Chicken on Christmas Eve when they canceled my family order because of THEIR SYSTEM MALFUNCTION, leaving me to come up with Christmas dinner for 10 people with 30 minutes notice and no place open. I placed the online order more than 24 hours in advance. They said their system should not have taken orders past their early close time of 4 PM (my pickup time was 5 PM) and that they had already refunded my purchase. With a very complex month, this was a year when our entire family needed a simple and turnkey meal. I practically begged them to prepare the food. The answer was no. It is cliche, but I've been a loyal customer. Cowboy Chicken is what I deliver when neighbors are sick and when saying thanks. Even if the question "what can I do to make this right" was posed now, the answer would be not a thing. Because you can't erase the pressure of scrambling to come up with an alternative meal, the time it took to shop it, prepare it-- exactly the opposite of what our stretched and stressed family needed when we chose Cowboy Chicken. Great place for lunch: quality food that's also affordable. The staff is so friendly. I've been here twice now and will be frequenting here. Their enchiladas are okay, very saucy, and surprisingly have a kick to it. I had their 2 piece meal today. And for $10, you get 2 dark pieces with two sides and a drink, what a deal. I have got to give it to this location. Out of all the places I've reviewed or visited.. this one is by far the worst experience I've ever had not only at a store but by any other human. The girl with braids and glasses I hope you're okay. Like genuinely. I couldn't imagine having a job and talking to customers the way you do. I been driving for 3 hours and was exhausted from my 9 hour drive the day prior and you did nothing but make me feel like a burden because your location ran out of chicken... I did not get refunded because they already confirmed my order but had no chicken and she said "it's not my problem". I said so why did you confirm if you knew this. She rolled her eyes and shrugged and walked away. She came back and I asked if she would help me. She ignored me. I asked my husband if she was, maybe I was just upset and not seeing things clearly. But he confirmed she was and he was confused what we did that warranted that result. He said ask again. I did she ignored me and started helping other people. I don't know what I did. I'm sorry we chose your location I'm sorry you ran out of chicken. I'm sorry you are stressed or whatever is going on. I hope you get some time off and can focus on other things than a job that brings you stress. I mean this wholeheartedly.. I've never left a location feeling more of a burden than this location. Being a former manager, if I saw this on the floor she would have been taken to the back and given a 30 min break to get herself together or sent home for her well being. I'm sorry we came in. Headed to Lowe's yesterday, needed lunch. Wayne noticed Cowboy wood fired chicken on the left. Our usual jam is Asian/Indian but this was close and since the meat is broiled I thought it would fit in my diet (lost 21#). So after Lowe's we gave it a try and encountered nice decor and a friendly normal looking guy at the counter. I chose the cobb salad with chicken breast and Wayne chose the 2 piece special after asking the guy for a recommendation. While Wayne checked out the rotisserie, which really are whole chickens rotating in front of a big fire! Our food came right away and I loved my very generous salad with the chipotle dressing! I also loved the pressed paper bowl instead of plastic or styrofoam! Wayne said his meal was good. Was interested to see the rice want just plain but was dressed up with some corn and other stuff. I ordered my food throughout the website to be picked up on Christmas Eve at 5:45. I confirmed with the manager in store the day before. I showed up at 5:45 and they were closed. No calls no messages. Nothing. Someone should have stayed. The manager didn't seem to care. Yes, I"ll get a refund but Christmas was ruined. Do not use these people for catering. Five stars for the employee Amanda who was so friendly and the woman who was working hard in the open kitchen! We bought a family meal for lunch, and the meat eaters in the family LOVED their chicken. Our sides of mac and cheese, elóte corn, creamed spinach, beans, rolls, and fries were all good. (I thought the creamed spinach was a bit too thick but it could be due to cooling on the drive home.) Cowboy chicken is based in Texas. But this Sooner loves this place. You cannot beat their chicken. It is the best.

I placed a carry out order on 9/16/24 of a half chicken with double mac and cheese for sides and added a side order of okra for $4.00. I waited for the food so long that my wife called me from the car because she seriously thought I was having a medical episode. When I opened the $4.00 okra when I got home, it was overcooked and contained a whopping 24 pieces of okra (see attached pic). When I saw this $4 okra, I thought I was really going to have a medical episode. The half chicken comes with a dinner roll, but there was so much chicken grease in the container the roll was sopping wet mush. I've always enjoyed Cowboy Chicken, but after this experience I will have to rethink about the possibility of future visits. I truly feel like I got ripped off! read more

Food is good, but every time both this store and the one west of here can't get any order correct. Food = 5 stars Accuracy of order = 1 star Always check your order! They have even acted like I was crazy, but when they check the order it's always "oh you are right, we did forget one of the meals you paid for" or "oh we did forget to include 2 family sides and bread". Most recently we ordered a family for 6 chicken at the other location and they gave us the family for 4 chicken. They just can't seem to get the order correct. For the record I think they have gotten 2 orders correct out of 8 or 9 orders. If you dine in, it's a good experience. Don't do take out. read more

Went and tried out Cowboy Chicken for lunch. The chicken sandwich was average, not bad at all just wasn't great! And I was not a fan of the sides. The rice tasted liked boxed rice mix. The French fries were okay, but if I go back I will definitely have to try a different side. Ordered takeout from this location last month. On Wednesday's they offer a $20 special for family meal. A whole chicken, three sides and 4 rolls all for $20. Yep you heard that right what a steal right?! There is a small upcharge for white meat. I ordered this meal for a family who just had a baby wasn't aware of this special until i ordered. I ordered on the website and was able to call them once arriving and the man working walked the order out to me.
