This is a cute little coffee shop with a few tables inside and a couple outside on the sidewalk. The shop is bright and sunny and the staff pleasant. I ordered a hot mocha with whole milk. They have milk options if you are non-dairy. It didn't take long to prepare and it was so smooth with just the right amount of chocolate mixed with coffee taste. I would definitely get another one of these. It made an excellent after meal 'dessert' drink. If you find yourself in Wickford Village, Shayna's has a nice selection of coffee drinks and other beverages to quench your thirst.

Decent selection of drinks in the cooler with some edible to-go items (think chicken salad). All the sandwiches ($16) sound delicious. I had the Crabby Patty ($12), a breakfast sando with a smashed crab cake, soufflé egg, chili crisp, tomato and arugula on a beautifully toasted bola roll. It was divine. Their signature coffees are all very unique - perhaps a bit intense for some and likely calorie bombs but I enjoyed indulging in my Campfire Cold Brew after a hot yoga class. I'm assuming they offer regular coffee drinks, though none were listed. My only qualm with this spot is the price. Everything was a bit more expensive than I would have liked and I'm not sure all of it was on par with value. That said, I enjoyed my visit and would be happy to return.

The space has a really cute, fun theme and it's dog friendly which is a huge bonus. I also really appreciate that many items can be made gluten free. It makes it so much easier to actually enjoy the menu without feeling limited. I didn't try a sandwich this time but I can't wait to come back and do that. We got a little sneak peek of the upcoming summer menu and it was delicious. One of my favorite treats came in iced latte form, which I loved. My friend ordered a themed dirty soda and a Fruity Pebbles cookie that looked incredible. Such a fun spot with great energy. Already looking forward to my next visit.

I have been coming to The Coffee Shop for breakfast for years. It was always the back up to my…read morefavorite breakfast joint - The Breakfast Nook - but the Wakefield location closed. So now The Coffee Shop is my go to. It is tucked inside Old Mountain Lanes - you enter the bowling alley and the entrance is opposite the lanes. I usually order the #1 (eggs, toast, homefries) with the eggs over hard and the homefries deep fried. I am a basic breakfast guy. Nothing fancy. I sometimes add a side of bacon or sausage if I am feeling overly hungry. If I do change up my order it is for pancakes and they are also very good. My only criticism is that it is a little pricey - not unreasonable, but it's about $13 when I add the side of bacon. I may be showing my age but I miss the days when you could go out to breakfast with a $10 bill. So maybe this is less about The Coffee Shop and more about my nostalgia. The coffee is always good and the staff is very friendly. One minor issue, they don't use real butter on their toast. I am not a fan of the spread they use. Butter lovers - you are warned! There is sometimes a wait - especially weekends during the summer, but it goes quick. There is an arcade to keep the kids entertained while you wait. Or just watch the bowling!

BEACH WEEK - Day Seven - Homeward Bound K…read moreBefore i.go,.I gotta give a quick shout-out to Daisy's Chicken and Ice Cream on Point Judith Road in Narragansett. This place is owned and operated (very well).by two lifelong friends and mere 21-year-old younglings, Adam and Donny. It's in a tuff spot; numbers of others have passed thru various tenancies with different ideas of how to accompany the farmstand creamie type ice cream business, but these two have somehow found the balance (imho). That balance includes not just the precisely focused menu and their astute assessment of a real need waiting to be filled; it also reflects the research, planning, work and personalities that are going to bring success. Adam and Donny have clearly done a lot of homework, not just with the business side, but culinary-wise. One does not just open a restaurant and hope for the best- especially with "real' (meaning, raw, scratch-prepared) product- even ice cream handling is scientific, and the scooping of it is a very precise maneuver with specific technics absolutely necessary. Whether Daisy's will establish a brand and grow, franchise, diversify, or just continue along as an exemplary demonstration of business acumen and personality profile to keep these kids happy just as it is, they have at least one customer who will keep coming back not just for the "Winter Blast" ice cream and the perfectly prepared chicken breasts not frozen patties), but out of a very strong fascination for observing and following whatever these two do into the future. If you know me- I am very judgemental of food service and Hospitality establishments, and I can be really critical. This place has me excited to stay with them!

However, it was a great sandwich. A large piece of crispy chicken on soft bread, but the standout was the Daisy Sauce. I got it on the side, and it was a completely unique flavor, almost like a jam. Thick, tangy yet sweet, and complimented the chicken perfectly. The ice cream was standard for Warwick ice cream and a good serving size. They also had a huge flavor selection, which was something I didn't see at many of the other ice cream places I tried. Not a cheap meal, but I could see myself returning for that Daisy Sauce alone!
