Literally just got my blinds installed moments ago. This man runs a great business, with great service. He gave us a great price for stylish blinds for our home that was a flat rate and cheaper than everyone we consulted with. On top of all of this his was very fast on delivery and installation. Today, my gf and I had the pleasure of working with Kass for our window covering needs. Our project required 19 horizontal and 1 vertical binds. Kass was knowledgeable, experienced, patient and kind. He offered suggestions during our decision making process without being over bearing or pushy. Kass gave a very fair price for a quality product and was about 40% less than Next day Blinds and about ~15% less than Home Depot (the quality of the blinds was better than the other stores). I am a big yelp user and do a lot of research on companies when I am hiring someone. Kass and his company had the best reviews for anyone in the blinds and shades business so I called him first. He came and was very professional and gave me a good price. After he left I called two other companies to compare prices using the exact same measurements and brand of shades Kass had given me. It wasn't until I received their quotes that I realized just what an incredible price I had received from Kass. And it was the exact same shades! It was literally $1000 cheaper than the other companies. The price had been cut in half. I promptly called Cass and ordered from him and they arrived and were installed within 10 days. Install over 30 planation shutters on a new home including 2 bay windows. Kass was very respectful and knowledgeable. We originally wanted white for all windows but he recommended that we match the kitchen shutters with the cabinets which turned out great. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I called them to get a quote on blinds and wood shutters. The next day I found a groupon for the company that said $500 worth of services. I call to schedule the apt and said I also have a groupon for $500 worth of services. He then proceeded to tell me that I cannot use the groupon. And if I did use it the price would change and be more expensive. So he was telling me he was going to raise the price just because I had the groupon. And explained that their was no point in using the groupon beccause the price would be higher and come out to the same amount. That is false advertisement and price gouging. I did a lot of research before buying interior plantation shutters. Most companies want a ton of upfront time and a signature to "lock in" a discount before they leave your house. Then I found Kass, who is his own boss, has really reasonable prices and does the installation himself. He is a pleasure and a pro. If you need plantation shutters, this is your guy. read more

Complete waste of time and horrible customer service! I was given a two hour arrival window on a Saturday morning. I called after my arrival window had past and left a voicemail with the general manager. He called back shortly after to inform me he had arrived at an address other than what I gave him the day before and simply left. Moreover, there was no attempt to contact me on my cell phone of which I called him from the day before to schedule my appointment. His response was I gave him the incorrect address and he didn't have a number to contact me upon arrival. There was no remorse on his behalf nor did he accept any responsibility in the matter. I attempted to reschedule my appointment and he informed me his policy is to only make one visit per customer. Given I never received this so called visit; he was still not willing to reschedule. I will not nor would I recommend anyone waste his/her time with such poor planning and customer service. I am completely perplexed as to how a business that makes house calls doesn't ensure they record the proper address as given to them nor secures the customers phone number. It is of my opinion that he never showed up and simply concocted the story about me giving him the wrong address and not having my contact information to derelict his duties. read more

Kass kept selling us inside mount. Kass deposited our check even though he said he will not deposit and never covered for bank charges which he promised to cover. Covering Windows was recommended to us by our contractor, who did a complete renovation of our mid-century rambler. Of course we needed beautiful window coverings to go with our beautiful new home, and we were not disappointed by Kass! We got plantation shutters throughout the second and top floor of our house, and as promised by Kass, they look like were built right into the windows--they look terrific! They appear to be great quality, in addition to being very good looking, and Kass and his fellow installer did a GREAT and relatively quick job of installing all 7 rooms worth of shutters. We also felt for the level of quality, that they were well-priced; definitely cheaper than Next Day Blinds or Home Depot. We will need window blinds in a rental apartment we are renovating, and we plan to use Covering Windows for that job, too. I highly recommend Covering Windows! read more

The owners were/are very engage with customer needs. To that end, did their best to recommend blinds that complimented the overall decorum of my home. My initial concern was how little I knew about plantation shutters other than I loved them and wanted them! But, how to measure, order and pick the correct ones for my windows. I did not want a costly mistake! My phone call was answered (how refreshing) and I was able to get a convenient appt time. Kass came out and was able to recommend what he felt was best and the reasons why. He was very honest about the time it would take to get them made...which I appreciated. Shockingly they came in on the day I was promised and installed that following day. I don't think this has ever happened to me! I liked the idea that he did the install with a 'helper' I always worry that I'm going to get someone who is new or is sloppy. Kass is just wonderful. We set up an appointment to connect several days after my initial call to him. He arrived on time and it was immediately clear to me that he has extensive knowledge regarding all types of window coverings. I explained my desire for faux wood cordless blinds (cats) and he suggested an appropriately sized, affordable blind with "the best" cordless mechanism. I had cordless blinds in my previous home and I can concur that the mechanism is superior on these... The blinds also have a lifetime guarantee. His quote was very reasonable and about 40% less than any other vendor I spoke with. Installation took only about 3.5 hours (for 20 windows!) late afternoon on a Friday. I sent a follow up email later that night with a few concerns I had and Kass responded immediately letting me know he would make any needed adjustments to ensure I was completely satisfied. He has been absolutely true to his word. He worked with me to find mutually agreeable times to come back for the adjustments (and one additional blind install that hadn't shown up with the first order) and addressed each of my others concerns. I found this business online and read a few good reviews, but should have checked the better business bureau complaint site. While the owner has a good eye for design elements and patterns, he does not install or measure correctly. Within a month, my valence had pulled out of the ceiling. This was after I had complained they were made too large for the bay window (something he said was in the eye of the beholder). (I have since had another company come out who said bay window measurements need to be taken from the ceiling because of how these valences jut out. He also noted the valences seemed to be made by a third party company (based on the information on the actual shade) rather than manufactured by the individual. These shades should have included warranties, and separate pricing per shade, which they did not.) The owner offered to remake one of the shades for an additional half price based on MY measurements. I did not follow up, given I have no faith I am not sinking good money after bad, and am chalking the more than $1k to a painful lesson learned. read more

We recently moved to a new home and wanted high quality shades at a good price. When searching for the right contractor, we kept coming back to Kass who is highly rated on Yelp. We decided to meet with him and discuss our main concern which is our cat. Every blind, shade, or drape we have tried has been shredded by our cat. With a new home, we wanted nice window coverings but didn't know how to proceed since we had tried everything before and the shades didn't last long. Kass brought catalogs of the various products and made suggestions based on his many years of experience. We decided to purchase cordless honeycomb shades for the majority of the house, beautiful drapes for the family room with wooden cornices to match the dark hardwood floor, roman shades for the master bedroom and bath, and large roller shades for the sunroom that reflect heat but were non-opaque so we could still see the forest in the backyard while the shades were down. The blinds are high quality and at an affordable price. And the best part is that our cat has not had any interest in the window coverings! Kass responds promptly to all questions, arrives on time, installs the blinds on his own and doesn't subcontract the installation to another company, and works hard to make sure that you are happy with the final product.
