Their gowns are so breathtaking and they come in from all over the world! The variety and expanse of their services is just amazing. I got a bridesmaids dress for an upcoming August wedding from couture bridal, and though I only spent a few mins in the store, I will not go back, and hope that, if I am in another wedding, they do not pick this store. i've been in a few weddings and have not been treated like this before. The dress that was picked out was lovely! When I went to pick up my dress, they seemed to have a nice selection of dresses. My gripe was with the owner, because she was the one I interacted with the most. I didnt have time to make the hour long drive to get fitted by her, so I looked up the sizing chart on the dress makers website and had someone else measure me. She claimed that the dress wouldn't fit right because I didn't come in to get it fitted. I had to send an email confriming that I took responsbility for the dress if it didn't fit. Fine, but let me order the size I specified. I told her the size I should have been (according to the dress maker's website) and she refused to put an order in for a size down. Now I have a dress that is WAY TOO BIG (seriously, it looks like a giant tent). I suppose its nice to have more to work with, but the dress is falling off of me. The repair for the dress is going to be very expensive. They have a 2 week timeframe to which you could pick up the dress, and then you are subjected to a $5/day storeage fee. I explained that I have class and work (taking class full time and working full time) and asked if i could have an additional week to pick it up without charge (because the class is ending) or to have one of the other bridesmaids get it. she also did not allow someone else to pick up the dress on my behalf (it was paid for) and since they have a no refunds or return policy, i don't think it mattered WHO picked up the dress, because I would have to get a professional to fix it anyway. I made it clear to her that I would NOT try the dress on in the store, because I wanted to put it on in front of the person who would hem it/take it in. the only redeeming part of this experience was when I picked up the dress. The employee was friendly and the transaction went smoothly. 0 stars for the store, 5 stars for the products they sell. read more

I used Couture Bridal for my wedding dress, chair covers/sashes, overlays and napkins. These linens and colors changed the boring venue room into a room that took my breath away. I highly recommend adding something to your room, whether chair covers or sheer overlays or contrasting napkins. It adds so much to the room... and Couture Bridal has every color, design, style you can think of. I highly recommend them!!! I placed an order for a serving set on February 17th it is now April 26th. I received a receipt and payment was made. I have tried to email to get an update on my order using the email address on the receipt which gave me a delivery failure message. I also tried there contact form and got no response. I called and was told that the owner would be in touch. I have not heard anything concerning my order. I work in a customer service heavy industry and am not at all impressed or pleased. read more

I'd been in couture bridal with a friend of mine when looking for her dress. They have a great selection and we had a great experience when she was trying dresses on... I went back with my mom to look at headbands and jewelry for my own wedding, shortly after. The owner wasn't there; it was two young girls working & preparing for their move. We got almost zero service as the girls were working on a project. However, one would look up from the desk and say "did you find one?" "Is that the headband you're going to buy?" I had a hard time making a decision but kept going back to one particular headband. The girl at the desk took it from me to hold. It seemed like she wanted me to commit and be done with it. Eventually I decided it was what I wanted so we paid for it and left. I got it home to look at it again, and noticed it was missing a couple stones. My mom called the store immediately and the owner told us to bring it in the next day. Reminding us that there is no return policy, she offered to have it sent out to be fixed. Considering it was our only option, and I love the headband, we agreed. We just picked up the headband after having it "fixed". It looks like crap. Again, owner wasn't in the store, it was another young girl. She asked no questions, just handed it over with an "I think this is it". When my mom questioned how it looked, the response was "oh yeah, that's just glue". Let me say- it looks worse than before. A larger stone that never needed to be replaced is now crooked and glue covered, and where the two stones were added, the whole area is covered in glue and stones are crooked & dull. We paid $140 for a headband that I will NOT be wearing. Not pleased with the product or the service. When the owner offered to have it fixed, I thought my experience was going to be saved. But maybe the girls who work for her should have more pride in what they're giving their customers under the couture bridal name. Neither myself nor my friends will be going back. read more

If you are a first, second, third, or even a fourth time bride avoid Couture Bridal, on Main Strret in East Greenwich, RI like the plague. Growing up in E.G. I always imagined buying my dress at one of the fantastic bridal boutiques on Main Street. I eagerly called to make my first appointment. I should have been tipped off that this was going to be a miserable experience upon the rude greeting I received. Rather than the appropriate "Thank you for calling Couture Bridal this is___ how may I help you?" All I received was an impatient "Hello? What?" I proceeded to make the appointment anyways. When I arrived with my mother and grandmother (it also happens that all 3 of us are seasoned seamstresses and know our way around a properly well made garment) in tow we were left to wonder around all 6 measly racks of cheaply made dresses for approximately 10 minutes before someone greeted us. Again the initial greeting in person was worse than the awful one on the phone. The "consultant" never introduced herself, never asked my name. Not to mention the appointment before me ran 20 minutes late. I then showed th e"consultant" a few pictures of what I liked let's say it was simple, classic and minimal... she gave me frosted cupcake disasters, one even looked like it was from Frederick's of Hollywood. Over all it was a terrible experience and I was super bummed that it was my first time trying on dresses. This place is awful, the merchandise is dirty, poorly made, and a sad selection. read more

I made an appointment two weeks prior. I showed up with my bridesmaids and the woman helping us (don't know her name because she never introduced herself) looked at me like i had 6 heads because we brought a few bottles of champagne to celebrate. Feeling awkward I asked if it was okay, and she said no. Which is fine, I know some dress shops won't let you because of merchandise but she looked at me as if I was crazy for being there. Took us 10 minutes to establish that I was the bride and that we were waiting for more girls (no introduction, just assumptions). She then proceeded to tell me all the bridesmaid dresses were in the area we were standing. There were 6 rolling racks. I've been to bridesmaid dress fittings, and this was the most awkward experience I've ever had. All three changing rooms for bridesmaids are on the first floor (where the store front windows are). I was helping dress my girls. When it came time for them to tell us the price, I was given a speech about a free vacation and that they would receive 10% off. The day I made our appointment the woman over the phone asked my information, the date of my wedding, and the budget I wanted to have the girl spend. None of this was used during my appointment and we were treated as if we were an annoyance to both women working. I wouldn't have mind spending the extra $100 for each girl (all the dresses we were shown were $300+) had I been treated as a valued client. We felt unwelcome and it was not as fun as dress shopping should be. Save you're time. Don't bother. read more

Couture Bridal was great in the beginning of our experience. We walked in without an appointment. The owner was great and very helpful. My girls picked out their dresses the end of October but we HAD to order them then and there (wedding is in April) because of Chinese New Year making the dresses come in four weeks later than normal (the manufacturing plant shuts down for the month of feb) so the dresses would be in in march. Well they came in in the beginning of December right before Christmas and HAD to be paid for and picked up within two weeks or there would be a storage fee. I would have picked them all up for my girls because I live right down the road but the owner INSISTED the girls try them on. I took my stepdaughter to get hers and try it on and we went up a size because we thought the size she measured for would be too right. Her dress is huge on her so now we have to pay more for alterations. Overall, the experience of this place is not good. Great dresses, terrible service. read more

Horrific experience. Went went to a different shop and got my fiancé a nice dress with great customer service. Stay away. Your response is completely ridiculous. We wanted NOTHING to do with your polyester $1,400 dress (80 cents per square yard is the average cost for polyester). You called the police on us for a CIVIL disagreement, not a criminal act, and had you called and asked for the dress back, I would have gladly told you to come get it. I certainly wasn't going out of my way to accommodate you after the way you treated us. The dress was appraised, because I had to prove to my credit card company that what was sold to us was not worth nearly what we paid for it. Since my credit card company refunded the money (they don't just return money for false claims), obviously we were taken advantage of. There's clearly something wrong with the customer service, based on the other reviews and how my fiancé was treated. Since the next place she shopped at sold her a dress that was truly beautiful, we are obviously not the problem. If your customer is not pleased, you do what you can to make it right. Read my other reviews, I give great reviews with places that provide proper customer service. Oh, and check to see if your wedding venue uses couture for linens, because they handle those too. I'm done responding to further comments, we got our money back and my fiancé is so happy with her silk satin dress made in the USA and sold by an honorable business owner. read more

This place should be closed down....I don't think that they have ever heard of the term customer service. The woman that my best friend and I dealt with was extremely rude and should be ashamed of herself...we were there to look for a wedding dress, which is one of the most important days in a girls life, and this woman had a bad attitude. Not to mention the price tags were ripped,off the dress and come to find out she marked the dress up in price which is not allowed by any dress manufacturer. We were also told that we could only use the bridal suite 3x...really??? I've never heard of such bull...if I have an appointment to try on a dress, they should accommodate me as best as they can and I should be pulling their nose out,of my asshole. My girlfriends and I went here to find my friend's bridal dress and we all ended up finding dresses for the wedding. It was a successful and fun day and the bridal consultant that particular day was very friendly. But then, everything changed. We were told we had plenty of time for our dresses to arrive, yet when the bride called to confirm delivery, she was told each dress would cost an extra $40 for rushed delivery. We verified numerous times while purchasing that the dress would not need to be rushed. Once the dresses arrived, we were called and rudely told we needed to schedule an appointment to pick up the dress and if we didn't within two weeks, we would be charged a storage fee and that we must try it on. My friend and I went to get our dresses and three young women were working in the store. They asked us our names, pointed to our dresses and asked IF we wanted to try them on. They blankly stared at us and didn't offer any assistance. I had to ask to be clipped. We tried the dress on and I've never felt so uncomfortable in my life wearing a beautiful gown. I should've felt like a princess, but instead, I saw three sets of eyes staring at me in the mirror and silently judging. The lack of professionalism in this shop is appalling. It's all fun and games until you make a purchase. I won't be going back. read more

So, I've never felt the need to publicly criticize a business, but this Bridal shop has just been awful to my friends and me. One of the bridesmaids, who was measured by a woman at Couture Bridal, was told to order a size much too large. She now has to pay $140 in alterations, because the dress was 2 sizes too large. This is the case for almost all the bridesmaids. When I insisted on ordering a size smaller, they gave me a hard time and made me sign a ridiculous email saying I was going against their recommendation. When I received the dress, it was still a size too large, even when I ordered the smaller size. I had also gained weight since the fitting. This company is interested only in their customer's money and nothing else. Worse service I have ever received. read more

If you're looking for a customer friendly experience, I do not recommend Couture Bridal. I was so excited to be able to make an appointment with them last minute for a Saturday morning (less than 24 hours before the appointment itself). I and another bridesmaid needed to try on dresses for a wedding in June. The other bridesmaid and her young family became ill the night before. So I called the next morning (the day of the appointment) to cancel. It was at that point, and that point only, I was made aware of the cancellation policy. If you cancel within 24 hours or do not show up you will be charged a $50 cancellation fee. I was told the owner would be able to make a decision on whether or not I would be refunded, as I explained that I had not been made aware of the cancellation fee when I first made the appointment. When I got in contact with the owner, I explained the situation and was told that the woman I had made the appointment with was claiming she had explained the cancellation fee. I told her that if I had been aware of the fee I would have either not made the appointment in the first place or would be gladly giving them my $50. The owner decided to think it over, she said she would get back to me by Tuesday. On Wednesday, I hadn't heard from her so I called to see if she was available to talk. She wasn't working that day, so I left a message with a woman who sounded less than thrilled to be hearing from me again. On Saturday, I finally heard back from the owner. She told me I would not be given back my money because the woman I made the appointment with and another woman working that day (who I never spoke to, she just happened to overhear the conversation) both said I had been explained the cancellation fee- they said the same thing, and apparently did not have time to talk to each other about the incident before the owner questioned them individually (in the weeks' time this was taking place). I did not appreciate being left to wonder for a week when the owner didn't have the slightest inclination of giving me back my money. She said during both our conversations that she could keep it as a credit on file for when I came back, despite my explaining after this experience I will not be returning. It is not my fault she does not have a policy set in place for emergencies or illnesses. At the end of the conversation I was told her decision was final and nothing else could be done for me. The only advice she had for me was to try and get my money back through my bank. Apparently, the customer's word does not count for much at Couture Bridal. read more

I am the MOH in a wedding and we made this our first stop in looking for our MOH/Bridesmaid dresses. The second we opened the door we were "greeted" by two women who looked less than thrilled to see us for our appointment. They had a decent selection for what we were looking for, but the entire vibe/attitudes of the employees was our first selling point to look elsewhere. When we asked them if we could get lunch and come back after we thought about everything, they said we needed to come back by 12:30, it was 11:15. We asked if we could get measured and then call and pay over the phone, they said they would charge a $35/per person fee to get measured without purchasing the dress first. The icing on the cake was they tried to sell our bride some odd "free honeymoon" to give us a discount on the dress. We walked out and ended up finding exactly the same dresses in another store for over $70+ less than what we would have paid at Couture. read more

Couture Bridal was the first place I went in my quest for the perfect wedding gown. I called and made an appointment. Annmarie, the owner, was friendly and polite. She prepared me for the appointment and versed me in what to expect. My mom, mother-in-law and bridesmaids accompanied me to the appointment. We had a blast selecting dresses from all the variety at Couture. The staff was cheerful and helpful in helping me select the right silhouette for my frame. I came in thinking I wanted a mermaid style. Annmarie suggested a A-Line dress style when she could tell I didn't love the mermaid dress I selected. Her expert opinion helped me find the perfect gown! The dresses were cleaned and well maintained. We put together the perfect accessories and placed the order. Everything came in before the scheduled arrival time. Annmarie kept me up-to-date so I didn't worry about my dress arriving in time for alternations. Great experience! I would recommend Couture to all my recently engaged friends! read more

I don't even know where to start. I have gotten better customer service at my local taco shop. Which is ridiculous considering I dropped over 1,000 dollars on my dress alone! Avoid this shop at all costs! I read many reviews warning me about this shop and against my better judgement gave it a try. I actually found a dress I really loved. The only positive thing I have to say about this store, is that my dress is lovely. However, this can only be credited to the designer, not the shop itself. I could have bought this same dress at another store and in retrospect wish I had. I guess I should I start at the beginning. After finding my dress with my mother I made an appointment for my bridal party to try on dresses for themselves. We ended up selecting a very pretty dress with varying necklines, all with a high low hem. In February my maid of honor found out that she was pregnant. I told her to call the store so that they could inform the dressmaker if necessary. My maid of honor called me in a state of panic to inform me that the owner of the store told her she had to buy AN ENTIRELY NEW DRESS. Not only that, but she tried to strong arm her into buying it as soon as possible. I told my maid of honor not to buy anything and that I would follow up. When following up with Ann-Marie she echoed what my maid of honor had stated, that an entirely new dress must be bought, I asked her if the dress had been made already and she said "I think so, but I have no way of finding out because this manufacturer closed for Chinese new year." I was stunned that she would advise me to buy a whole new dress when she had no knowledge of whether or not it had even been made! I told her I was very surprised that this was their protocol and that they had to have run into this before. She went on to make comments about whether or not her pregnancy was planned which I quickly reminded her was NONE of her business. Later in the conversation it became clear to me that she had no idea what the bridesmaid dress even looked like. She didn't even bother to pull up our file before advising us to purchase an entirely new gown. When the dresses did come in my maid of honors dress was actually big with PLENTY of room for her to grow before the wedding. I had never been so happy to have gone against someones advice. The dress was just fine and there was absolutely no need to purchase a new one. One of my girls had to pick up her dress earlier than the rest of us, After trying on her dress she gave me a call to let me know that the owner asked her to give me a message. The message stated "If you are going to be even five minutes late please cancel your appointment because my daughter has a medical appointment." I was appalled that she would put my bridesmaid in a position like that. She had my number, if she wanted to give me a message she could have easily called. There is no need to assign my girls to do your dirty work. Come to find out there was no medical appointment, she just had another bride looking for a dress. Which we would have understood, we know you have a business. In the weeks leading up to the arrival of my dress I got a bit anxious. I had been told my dress would arrive somewhere between April and May and was worried since we were in mid May. So I called the shop. The owner answered the store and let me know that the phones where forwarded to her home and she didn't have any of that information on her, she said she would call me back later in the week and I completely understood. The week went on and no call came, so I called to follow up on Saturday (I had called that Monday). Upon calling, her sales associate went up stairs to ask Ann-Marie if she had any information. She came back to the phone and said "Nothing has changed since the last time you spoke" um..... really? because I got NO INFORMATION the last time we spoke. When finally speaking with Ann-Marie she argued with me for the better part of fifteen minutes about whether or not she left a voicemail. I simply said "I don't have any voice mails I'm not sure if you called another bride or there was a mistake" she actually had the nerve to say no, it was you, your voicemail isn't set up... .Which is completely false. My voicemail works just fine and I get voicemails all the time. Ann-Marie met every concern, question and curve ball with an argument. No way to do business. I am not going to let this horrible experience ruin the best time of my life, but I feel I owe it to other brides so that they can have a pleasant dress buying experience. Two of my bridesmaids are getting married, and based on what they have seen firsthand will not go to this store. I have two very close friends at work who are in the process of purchasing gowns, I have told them this horror story and they will be steering clear as well. Long story short, go somewhere else where they will treat you well. The rest of my vendors have been absolutely amazing and it makes all of the difference. read more
