Always a pleasure to hit this location. Among the remaining legacy cousins retaining their more traditional facade. I like the new decor in all the new stores, but I think I like this one because it fits Monona. Not the corporate scheme. Makes it feel like it was at a kinder era. Not to blather on about the misperception of the magaTs, but it does have a nice feel. Today's service was far more energetic than most. The old guy who served my sandwich is great. He even messed it up and made an apology. Such a solid move. It was minor, he merely forgot the jalapeños, but instead of letting it go and I would later discover it, he informed me. I'm not in a rush, which is rarely my mode, so I asked and he corrected the situation. Few people would be so simply put off. Eye rolling and annoyance for having a customer actually receive their product as they expected it. I was going to add a photo of a great sign on the wall, but I see I have already done it before. There was a monitor that listed different promotions. 1 item said send 30 dollars on a gift card get a free 7 1/2 sub. So I asked the manager if you could any sub with that promo. He answered yet. So I bought the card from him and than ordered the cheese steak sub that was free. He looked like he was trying to ring up but it didn't work. So I paid for the gift card already now I am told pick a deli sub. No apologies no nothing. read more

I decided to try Cousins as it is a Wisconsin chain. I was there for dinner. I was the only person dining in. Everyone else was doing take out. Chipotle Chicken cheese steak was my favorite item here. It was a fall special. Pumpkin pie shake was another fall special I tried. It was very good. Steak Philly cheese steak was my second sandwich. It had good flavors. But I found the stuffing very less. I think that is the reason they have double stuffing in the menu. May be next time I go for that. I have been to this location twice in the last month. While the service is friendly and efficient, the bread both times was not very fresh. I've been to the location on E. Washington Avenue many times and never had this problem. read more

Waited 25 minutes after the initial 18 minutes for my 2-sub online order. They had not even started it when I arrived. They also had walk-in order subs completed before mine. The staff is the slowest I've ever experienced. And they were rude. I will never come here again. They need a serious re-management. read more

Wow- if I could leave 0 stars I would. I stopped in after being super excited to have a sub since I live in Texas and no stores there. There were 3 people next to me who stopped in the store and we were all informed we would have to stand there and wait for 20 minutes while they filled a catering order instead of taking 5 minutes to make a sub for the in person customers. Cousins subs is extremely underrated. My friends love their subs, their bread is super good. I myself am a HUGE fan of their cheese curds (I'm a fan of cheese curds in general). The cheese curds are the perfect balance of batter and cheese and flavor and salt, where the cheese curds have that thinner "skin." read more

Just ordered two subs. Four employees working. When my husband brought the subs to the table, my order was incorrect. I brought the sub back to the guy behind the counter taking orders. He continued to wait on five people before somebody who is making subs finally addressed me. I told her what the order was supposed to be she entered a new order and gave me a number that was at least eight orders behind the number they were calling. They screw it up, that happens, but their recovery is to make you stand ignoring you and then instead of re-making your order immediately they make all of the orders ahead of you. My husband was done eating for about 10 minutes before my food even came out. No offer of anything. The really funny thing about it is when you go up to the counter to order yourself pick up the meal yourself but they still ask for a tip when you're paying. I would give 0 stars if possible. I had $200+ stolen out of my wallet at this location. The General Manager would do nothing for me. Very sketchy with little explanation on what actually happened, even with police involvement. Extremely upset and will NEVER eat at a Cousins Subs again!
