Two things you must know; they offer seating and my review is 4.5 stars (thanks Yelp). We were in the area and wanted something local. We saw the good reviews and thought it sounded good. We weren't disappointed. While it isn't fancy (would you expect a "take out" place to be fancy?), it has a functional seating area. More importantly, it has a menu offering a little bit of everything. Therefore, no one in your group can say they don't see something they like. My dining partner went with the chicken Parmesan sandwich and onion rings. The rings were tasty and my partner barely finished the large sandwich. They said they would get it again. I went with the Hot and Sweet Philly sandwich and fries. The sandwich lived up to its billing. The fries were top notch. While the price for a quick lunch was a little higher than average, it was very good. The service was top notch. Friendly and accommodating, the workers made us feel welcome throughout our visit. What a tremendous treat to find Stadium Takeout. Visiting my son & craving an East Coast style cheesesteak sub sandwich or a chopped cheese sandwich and discovered this joint on my search. We walked over together to find a VERY pro Badger decor in addition to a very pleasant & immediate greeting by the owner. He was very helpful & knowledgeable about the menu as expected. We decided on a Donfather (thinly sliced beef & cheese on locally baked fresh soft rolls) & a traditional Philly cheesesteak sandwich with an order of buffalo dry rub wings. A short wait later our wings came out & were crispy on the outside & moist within. Terrific. The last bone hit the basket and our sandwiches were delivered. The cheesesteak was wrapped & served with fries and the Don stacked tall and tantalizing. The Don was a healthy serving. The bites were really satisfying as the meat was tender, the potato roll soft & supple. The cheesesteak emerged from the wrapper to reveal a VERY large sandwich. The Philly was equally satisfying. The fries were a terrific & unexpected surprise as they're hand cut and REALLY light and crispy. We really enjoyed our visit. Just recently tried Stadium takeout after hearing raving reviews and it was pretty good! I tried the Donfather which is a popular special twist on an Italian beef with locally sourced spicy cheese bread and it was great! My friend got the burger melt and fries and she also thought that was super good! The fries were steak fries with lots of seasoning. All the staff were super helpful and attentive as well. I will say the prices are pretty high, just my sandwich was 14 dollars. They also charge for water, fries etc which I was not a big fan of. They do a special most days of the week and those seemed like super reasonable priced meals so I would definitely go back for that! read more

I placed an order via their website for pick-up, and it was hot and ready when I arrived. Luckily there was extremely close street parking on the one-way street next to the restaurant. I was excited to try their fries, as they seem to have the most comments in other reviews. I found them deliciously different. I describe them as a cross between crinkle fries and steak fries. They are thick and extra crispy with a fluffy, hot center. They held up great while dipping into the luscious cheddar cheese sauce (extra charge, and totally worth it!) Yum. The Chicago dog was good, but next time I will remember that cold ingredients on the dog cause the dog to cool down quickly, so plan to eat it right away. Had heard about this place and had to check it out, esp given the great reviews. Probably deserves 3 stars at best, but I appreciate a well run business. For instance, as soon as I walked up to the counter, an employee from the back greeted me and said he'd be with me in a minute. This use to be a go to place for me to order from, however the quality and attention to detail has suffered tremendously I regularly get wrong items now with the wrong toppings, I will ask for it dry and it will be so soggy you cant even touch the bread without it disintegration. As soon as we sat down, I noticed the sign on the side of the wall listing the specials, and I immediately wished I had ordered the chopped cheese instead. My son and I were at Stadium Take Out yesterday, and for two Chicago food lovers, this place gets it right. The Donfather was juicy and delicious. The garlic cheese curds were "to die for." This food is the best in Madison. Very fresh, great flavor. Don is a very personable businessman and I love telling people about his team and his food. It means something when the owner is excited and passionate about their food. Don is always trying new things and offering customers to try samples of whatever he's thinking about next. As far as seating, the ambiance gives quaint and homey, so if you're going with a large group(7+) I suggest you take the food to go. I'm a very hard critic, but always give credit where it's due. I had read about this place in the local press and knew I wanted to give it a try given I am a big fan of Chicago dogs. I don't get over to this area that often but on a recent Saturday bike ride I made a point to stop for lunch. This is just a hole-in-the-wall place not really meant for dining in - it is call "take out". I did dine-in. There were a number of items that looked intriguing such as chopped cheese. I will need to return to give them a try. This is not your standard hot dog joint. I will even need to give Italian beef a try (wet of course). The service was friendly and they did offer me an Italian ice while I waited. The Chicago dog was just what I hoped for and very authentic. Wow. I'm impressed. Stopped in for lunch today. Super helpful staff who steered me towards the Donfather sandwich. It was a great recommendation-Italian beef with mozzarella and provolone nestled in between a Stella's spicy cheese roll. Served along a side of well flavored and well seasoned jus, it is a complete sandwich. The side order of waffle fries were advertised as "Brew City" although I don't think they were as they were without the typical batter but tasty nonetheless. They were giving out samples of their Italian ice. I opted for the lemon and I can't wait for it to be part of their regular menu. It would be perfect on a hot summer day. We ended spillitting the Donfather (see picture), which was uh-mazing. Delicious meat, great gravey for dipping, and made with cheese bread from Stella's Bakery (we gotta love local business supporting local business)! Even the waffle fries were perfectly crisped without being overdone or burnt! Stadium takeout is EXACTLY what Monroe Street needs.
