This is my second time trying their food -- the first was at the Taste of Madison and I had their Jerk wings. This time, I ordered their Happy Jerk Combo. I lunched after 1, so they were out of the stir fry but I didn't care. Paid $9 for jerk pork and chicken over rice and beans, walked it back to my office only to discover the rice was no good. :( I ate some of the jerk meat, and both pork and chicken were severely dry, minimal sauce and flavor. I thought maybe the heat from the meats caused the mushiness in the rice, so I sniffed it and was able to scent a foul odor. My lunch was an absolute fail and all my Hubs had to say was, "That's why we don't go there mon." Ugh. :/ I am giving them one star because the Jerk wings at the Taste were good and the guy working the food cart was friendly. But maybe not friendly enough to know not to serve spoiled food. It's perfect for the indecisive as it is 1/2 pork and 1/2 chicken with red beans and rice, so there's no need to settle on just one meat. Awesome. What's also great about this dish is how huge it is. Really, it's easily enough to last you two good meals. And these will definitely be gooood meals because Jamerica packs their dishes with Flavor. Capital F. Every time, I leave Jamerica a happy customer not only because the Happy Jerk is delicious, but also because they're always crankin out the ever-optimistic, breezy Bob Marley tunes. My third thought was that looks like a course ground hand formed patty, fresh beef and no frozen hockey pucks here. I kept it simple with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and ketchup. My first bite was like that's not dry at all and the beef has a nice beef flavor. The bun was a perfect bun because it was a softer style and not the dry dense kind but hearty enough not to fall fall apart from all that beef. I didn't even bother asking for rare with the young cooks but it was cooked about medium with some pink left in the middle. The toppings were fresh but the onions were super thin sliced and soft, I would have asked for extra had I have known. I'm impressed that a small drive in takes the burgers seriously and uses top quality ingredients. Inside the place was very inviting and the owner even offered me a taste of some chicken that he just cooked up on the grill. The bar keeper we super sweet and helpful. We ordered a basket of fries and they were delicious. If we lived in Deerfield we would definitely make this our regular place for happy hour and yummy eats.

They tend to have long lines, so if you go there during peak times you should be prepared to wait. That said, they always hustle and move through the lines quickly. Their chicken is flavorful, but tends to the dry side. Their best meat choice is their Taco Loco, a blend of seasoned beef and chorizo. It's excellent. And the salsa verde is made from a family recipe. My wife and I love it! As far as I know, they're still cash only.
