Decent food, strange setup. The subs here are solid--actually better than some other Cousins franchise locations I've tried. The staff are generally friendly and seem to do their best. That said, the overall experience is a bit off-putting. The store is set up with thick bulletproof glass and a microphone system for ordering, even inside. The bathrooms are locked, and the whole place feels oddly locked down. I get that it's probably for safety, but it definitely takes away from the welcoming vibe you'd expect from a sandwich shop. Another weird thing: they play two different radio stations at once while you're waiting for your food, which can be a little chaotic. Also, the last few times I've ordered through the app, they hadn't started making my order by the time I arrived--even after the estimated pickup time. So while the food is decent, the experience could definitely use some smoothing out. read more

If it was solely based on the food I would give them a 4. However the service is very slow at this location and after waiting 10-15 minutes, you just expect to get hot (not barely warm) fries. I live out of state so every time I'm back in Milwaukee, Cousins Subs is a must-go. I just probably won't go to this location. read more

Great food with obviously fresh ingredients, I personally loved my Italian meatball sandwich; however, vegan members of our group were given cheese products on their subs despite orders that specified no cheese. They ate their subs despite the presence of cheese residue-- I commend them for this great personal compromise, as I know they will have to carry the burden of this failing with them in the years to come. Further, the meat eaters also found the quantity of meat lacking on their subs, which was surprising given the eagerness at which cheese was placed upon the subs of those not desiring the presence of cheese. This place is conveniently located to me and whenever I get a craving for subs I go through the drive-through. The staff here has great customer service, The drive-through does take a few minutes but they make all the sandwiches from scratch. I prefer to go here instead of Subway for a warm sub. read more

To me, it beats subway hands down. My five star relates to the food. Which is always the bottom line. This property however, is pretty tired and probably needs a facelift. Worst cousins I have ever been to. They almost never get my order right (BLT) and the wAit is ridiculous.

You should avoid this place at all costs. I rarely go out of my way to write a review; my most recent visit to this Cousins was by far the worst I ever had. I usually go out of my way to dine at Cousins because their service level is much greater than most other sandwich shops, today I had to wait 5 minutes just for someone to acknowledge that I wanted to place an order. When they finally came around to ask what I wanted I was asked to shout my order over the sound of the kids "working" in the kitchen. While I waited the 20 minutes for my cheese steak, I witnessed the lady taking orders (whom I assume was also the manager) get in a verbal argument with someone who also had been waiting similarly as long while the kids in the kitchen pointed and laughed at the situation that was unfolding. Once my order was finally ready I quickly realized that I paid $10 for a poorly crafted sandwich and fries including browning lettuce and soggy tomatoes. On top of all of this, the store was in terrible shape. All of the tables were dirty and the floor was incredibly sticky. My hubby was Eckler a cold club sub with extra meat everything on it meaning mail lettuce tomatoes onions and seasoning etc. I ordered a special!!! He got all the way home 25 minutes from them !!! This cousins seriously needs to get their $@!& together. I came here multiple times at about 4:45 on a Friday. The place is always crowded because they have 3 people working their dinner rush. It always takes 45 minutes to get my food, and the service is always terrible. The cashier (listed as AM on the receipt) just gave me this attitude that she hates her job and doesn't like me for some inexplicable reason. I went to Cousins subs on 76th and Burleigh on 7/15/2016. I arrived at the drive through exactly at 6:29pm and ordered a half ham and cheese. I was told my total was $5.29. I pulled around where there were two cars in front of me. I expected a small wait of 5-10 minutes or so. I arrived at the pickup window at exactly 6:54pm. I waited in line for 25 minutes for a half ham and cheese the employee who took my order told me my total was $12 and some change. I told her that was incorrect. Then she replied, "Oh, I didn't even ring you up." My response was, ''Well does that mean I get a discount for as long as have been waiting in line?" She very rudely pointed at me and said, "UM NO THAT WONT BE HAPPENING!." I had been sitting at the window with my money in hand which was a 10 dollar bill. Next, she comes back to the window holding a 5 dollar bill and says my total was $5 even. We exchanged money and she finally handed me my food. I asked for the receipt as I was suspicious about my total assuming she pocketed the money. She told me, "Ain't no receipt cause I didn't even ring you up like said before!" I frequent Cousins quite often and by far the worst experience I have had. The employee never apologized about my wait or offered to get me a receipt.
