I would give Jersey Mikes a sold 4 stars on my dining experience today. I heard so much about their Chicken Salad going viral, so I needed to try it out. A former NY housewife I believe said it was very mayo based, but I could be wrong. The chicken salad I received was lite mayo and had nice big chunks of chicken. I thought it could have been seasoned a little more, but I have to say it was pretty damn good. I will probably have 1 more before the weekend coming up ends. Had an A-OK experience at this Jersey Mike's. This is a new location, and it sure looked that way. Nice and clean, fresh, and well-kept. The counter runs along the left when you enter, and the right side of the shop has plenty of seating next to the big bright windows. The whole experience however felt a bit discombobulated. Between the ordering, paying, circling back to build your sandwich, not exactly a place to wait for the order to be complete... I don't know just a little messy. The other folks in line with me looked equally confused. To be fair, with this being a new location clearly it's a new team of folks working to iron out the kinks. Give it a few months and I'm sure it will be a well-oiled machine. Highlight: The sammies were pretty darn good! Lowlight: My order was wrong. My husband opted for the BLT and enjoyed it. He shared half of it with me and took half of my Philly cheese steak, since it wasn't what I was hoping for. I had originally ordered the chicken Philly, as I much prefer chicken over steak, so it was a bummer to open the order. However, it was certainly still flavorful, and even more so filling! WORSE THAN MERELY DISAPPOINTING This is a review of the just-opened GERMANTOWN location (which doesn't yet have its own Yelp listing), so I'm posting this under the Mequon listing . . . but I assume that the food preparation is the same at all locations (unless, of course, the new team hasn't yet mastered all the skills needed to construct the sandwiches quickly and correctly). First, the aforementioned team: They are numerous, and they are in constant motion -- both of which you'd expect at a newly-opened location that was, predictably, busy. Great attitude and spirit evident in all of them; and, as a bonus, I'd recommend you go there if you want to be served by one of the world's premiere Matt Damon Lookalikes. As for the food: I had the "Stickball Special" (on the "secret menu", I was told; it's not shown on the posted menu on the wall). The wheat bread, which was not as tasty as the whole grain bread at Cousins, did have appealing corn meal on the underside. Unfortunately, what forces me to give merely one star -- so sorry, "Matt" and team! -- is the "sauce" (that is, the oil/vinegar, each of which is poured on separately). Yes, poured, not gently applied. I regretted not asking for "light" sauce; however, that wouldn't have made any difference. I'm not sure what, exactly, made me give up on eating the sandwich halfway through. Was it the excessive sweetness? Excessive sourness? No matter. Despite my best, heroic efforts (pun intended) to finish, I could not enjoy this sandwich that I'd been looking forward to. All that I could taste was that "sauce". Not the bread, not the cheese, not the meats. (After I'd lost my appetite for the sandwich, I tried to eat a little of the meat, by itself. Both the ham and salami had flavor that was underwhelming.) I wish nothing but the best to that young and eager staff, but I'll likely feel that Cousins is still worth the longer drive. read more

These sub sandwiches are imo the best of any chain. Ordered online and was happy to see my order was ready even though we arrived 10 minutes earlier than the expected time when our food would be ready. My husband and I ordered the large subs so we'd have leftovers for the next day. Order was roughly $34 for two giant subs. Was a little disappointed when we got home and saw they had not added the extra toppings we had requested(peppers, pepper relish, pickles, extra onions etc) they just gave us the regular subs as they were prepared on the menu. I verified with the receipt to make sure I had ordered correctly, I had. We live too far away to go back, sadly. The Mike's way sub was good, hopefully next time I can just have it my way though. read more

Service was painfully slow and witnessed multiple orders having to be redone because they were not correct.

Prices are a little too high for the quality. The hot subs take forever to be prepared. The store can get quite busy, making wait times very long. read more

There was one other person in the restaurant when I came in. And she was pretty hard on one of the guys. Sam sliced the provolone cheese and ham. Kyle asked if she would like it Mike's way. She looked at him and said, I want the other guy to finish making my sandwich. Kyle stepped aside and took my order and started my sandwich. He went to Ring the other customer up and tighten the to go bad. She complained he was squishing her sandwich by wrapping it tightly. He explained to her that they are taught to wrap the sandwich with in a tight bag, so the sandwich doesn't fall out. These two guys don't deserve how she treated them. mgr is a untruthful. called and ask if roast beef was rare and was told it was-ordered roast beef sub. When I went to pick it up I asked the mgr to see it and she said don't worry , I'm asked about it being rare all the time-she didn't show it to me. Got home and went to eat it, it was brown and dry and to top it off I paid for extra meat. I'm going back to Jimmy Johns! read more

They need to have a better system for fresh grilled and made to order for when they have lines. In California, they write down what you would like added to your sandwich. There is nothing posted saying when to list what you want and don't want. Subway and Quiznos ask you while you are in line. I was supposedly given, "my sandwich when I left, When I got home, it was someone else's sandwich. I looked at sandwich and it looks like a roast beef sandwich and there are onions on it. I have an allergy to onions. I paid for a regular cheese and steak. I don't want to drive back to return a sandwich they will throw away and have to get in line, order and wait for sandwich to be made. I should be getting a credit for the sandwich I did not receive. The food was great but when I tell you that I was totally grossed out when I seen one of the employees walk in to start his shift. Or maybe he was returning from break. Either way he was completely and visibly dirty and I couldn't help but wonder if he had ever washed his uniform and why it would be acceptable to come or remain at work dirty. He looked like he could've been working on cars. Overall the restaurant was clean, but my mind just couldn't let go of the fact that an employee with such dirty clothes was handling food. Not only was he dirty, he was sagging his pants so of course his undies were showing. The level of cleanliness has diminished and I am disappointed in this restaurant. Great subs! I've tried both cold and hot here at the mequon location- and both are delicious! The wait time to get the sub(s) can take a few minutes, but I can truly see the dedication and effort the employees put into making each sub.
