    Free birthday sub offer

After being contacted by a customer representative, I was offered an apology and compensation for the bad service. As a result, I'm very happy with their service thus far! Will provide another update after my next interaction!

Yes please! So. I love a good sandwich which is why I loved Subway. Then I moved to the Midwest and discovered Jimmy Johns and that was Bye-Bye Subway!! I'll never go to subway again. Then my co-worker introduced me to Firehouse. And maybe...maybe I'd say bye-bye to JJ but there are so few Firehouse Subs around that it's not an option. Honestly I LOVE JJ's bread. But Firehouse's sandwiches are tastefully awesome. If you put all the makings of a Firehouse sandwich on Jimmy John's bread, I'd be in absolute heaven! I love JJs bread, but Firehouse had really nice bread too. It doesn't taste bland like subways and is quite soft. I quite enjoyed the sweet tea option! Is this becoming more popular now because I'm seeing it more. I'd rather have tea than soda. They also have a fancy soda machine with lots of options. Fanta options I believe. But their medium drink is no medium. In fact, it's quite large! I'd hate to see what a large actually looks like. Anyway sandwich was awesome. I did the make your own option and added the combo. I'll be honest they have a ton of sandwich options and I didn't feel like standing there to read all of them. So I was thankful for make your own. I got roast beef, mayo, lettuce, tomato and onion. Also, oil and vinegar. No cheese. And it was superb. I have a thing for simple sandwiches. Add the chips and medium/large drink, it was under, but about $8. Place was pretty busy. Staff were super friendly. It was pretty clean and mostly stocked. You take a seat after getting your drink and they bring your sub to you. I'll definitely return!

I could have made a better sub at home. A complete disappoint as far as the lack of portion of meat and add ons. I'd rather go to Subway

I went with a spicy chorizo soup, which was delicious, paired with with the Pesto Mozzarella "Sammich" - fresh Mozzarella, Pesto, Heirloom Tomato, Baby Spring Lettuce, and Balsamic Glaze on a Toasted French Roll. It came with a side of veggies and dip. I grabbed a seat at the counter overlooking the street and they brought out my food as soon as it was ready. Everything was warm, the portions were generous (I took half of my sandwich home), and the food was delicious! The prices are on the higher side, but you're getting generous portion sizes and high quality ingredients. I stuck with water but there is a nice selection of beverages and some local treats for dessert available. They also have prepackaged soups in a cooler with a variety of sizes and flavors available to take to go. I'll be back to try a flight of soups or another tasty soup & sammie combo!

It came out with nicely salted butter for the soft bread served on the side. For soups I got a dill tomato, curry lentil, hatch black bean, and cream of mushroom. The dill tomato was my favorite, I may try to recreate this at home since I am not from the area. The curry lentil was very filling and rich. The hatch black bean soup was something different to try- I ended up really liking it. Lastly, the cream of mushroom soup was not my favorite. It felt very plain and the mushrooms were cut into slices, I think I prefer more of a chopped or slivered mushroom. They have great natural lighting and plenty of seating. I sat and studied at one of the tables for a while.

The lunch menu has a huge variety of options, which made it tough to choose. I went with the BLT on sourdough, served with a pickle spear and thick-cut potato chips. It totally hit the spot. The bacon they use is fantastic. My friend ordered the Sriracha Melt (ham, pepperoni, mozzarella, jalapeños, and sriracha mayo grilled on white bread), which also came with chips and a pickle. Immediately devoured. The salads looked incredible....the table next to us ordered a couple and they looked absolutely divine. Next time for sure. The adjacent market is a must-browse too. It's packed with specialty products and rare finds that you don't see everywhere, making it easy to walk out with way more than you planned. Great food, great service, and a fun market to explore. Highly recommend stopping in if you're anywhere near West Allis.

There was a covered patio seating area that was also being utilized. Food: They have a large selection of breakfast pastries, including scones, cinnamon rolls, hand pies, and more. There are also some savory items, such as a rosemary biscuit. It was a tough choice, but when in doubt, I go for a scone, and they had a Maple Cinnamon one. I had it warmed up a bit, and it was delicious. These scones are not muffins in disguise, which means the texture is a bit drier and more crumbly--perfect alongside a hot beverage. For my drink, I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte. I was hoping to have it served in an actual ceramic mug, but those are only offered to customers who order drip coffee. That said, they made a very good London Fog, with a little extra lavender and plenty of foam. For my taste, it could have been a bit hotter. Service: Everyone who helped us was kind and helpful and gave us plenty of time to choose the perfect pastries. When ordering the London Fog, they explained how they make theirs and how they would add the extra lavender, which I appreciated. As mentioned above, they do not provide mugs for specialty drinks, using mugs instead to keep track of customers who have paid for bottomless drip coffee. I could bring my own mug from home, but I am not a fan of carrying around coffee shop essentials. Atmosphere: The building is nicely designed on the outside and sits on a corner with plenty of large windows that bring in natural light. It faces north, so you avoid the glaring morning sun. Upon entering, there is a short walk to the counter, where you can view all of the bakery and pastry items. A menu board above clearly displays the breakfast and lunch offerings, making it easy for first time visitors. There are numerous tables that accommodate small groups, and a fireplace with a couple of upholstered chairs offers a cozy seating option. Even after filling up with customers, the noise level was very good, and easy to have casual conversations. A nice visit and a place I would enjoy coming back to.

Gus clearly loves his job, and it shows in the food and the service. My wife ordered sausage and French toast, which was wonderfully eggy and rich. I got a chorizo breakfast burrito -- delicious, served with a perfect (for me) salsa -- medium heat and rife with cilantro. The place had just opened for the day and we were the only ones there. The place is large and clean; understated but inviting. Gus doted on us, bringing out some freshly fried tortilla chips for me to enjoy with the burrito and salsa. The seasoning on the chips was a nice touch. The burrito was humongous -- too big really, as we had no way to store it, but we're not going to ding a place for that, and if you can take home leftovers, it's two meals for the price of one. But once you know where it is, it's easy to find and worth it. I went in during lunch one day and it was quiet. The hours are limited, as they close early afternoon. I ordered the lamb gyro plate with the french fries - and Gus said, you can get fries anywhere, try my rice! And so he served up the rice and asked me to try it right then and there. I asked for my feta on the side, and again he was insistent I try it then. The portions are gigantic - it was enough for at least 2 meals. We talked about his background in ethnic cooking. I was impressed they opened up around the time Covid-19 was raging and they've managed to stay in business despite opening up during a difficult time.
