I would recommend making a reservation during prime hours and sitting outside if they have space there. The pizzas are the thin crust Roman style and very solid - the classic Margherita is the one to get as the execution is fantastic. You get the flavor of a NYC slice made with better ingredients and with a great thin crust. This reminds me of Marta in NYC which closed during COVID. The classic entrees are made in the comfort food style - solid flavors, generous portions, and good ingredients. Be sure to try the costelleta or ossobucco. The cutlet is perfectly tender with a crispy crust served with fantastic roasted potatoes. The ossobucco itself is just okay but the risotto is very satisfying especially with the bone marrow. If you are by the Duomo or Galleria and want comfort food this is a great option.

Prices were fair, and the staff was very attentive. We were able to get some good Italian music and food here. The four cheese pizza is the da bomb. Our antipasti was two dishes, polpo (we are suckers for octopus done right), and burrata (also suckers for this cheese too). Both were terrific and did their job...to open the appetite. Our primi was a linguine for me, and tagliatelle for my wife. Both were just outstanding. Didn't have a secondi or dolce because we were already stuffed to the gills for lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to have it again if we ever have a return visit to Milano.

Both tasted like they'd been frozen beforehand and were among the worst meals we've had in Italy. What made it worse was the service. We were completely ignored the entire time. When we did get served, it was no eye contact and just staring at us to tell the server what we wanted (and that was after I had to wave them down!) At first, I thought they were giving us privacy, but everyone around us had their tables cleared and were offered dessert while we sat with our finished plates for at least five minutes. When we finally got up to leave, they stopped us to offer dessert, which was a nice gesture, but by then, the experience had already soured. There was no music playing either, making the whole meal feel awkwardly silent. With so many great options in Milan, I wouldn't recommend this one.

I couldn't leave without trying what Milan is known for, their Milanese risotto and also pasta. I was originally going to go to Risoelatte based off Yelp reviews but they were fully booked for the day and I had to catch a plane in an hour so I walked down the street to Locatelli Milano and I'm so glad I did! Everyone was Italian and dressed impeccably in perfect fitting suits and each person had a glass of wine with their lunch on the table. There were no other tourists there (except for me). I ordered two first courses (which the waiter double checked and said, "Sorry, excuse me. So you want TWO first courses?" I said "YES!") and got a crispy saffron risotto and spaghetti with uni and black garlic. JUST AMAZING! I will never be able to eat risotto in NYC (where I'm from) ever again.

The conchetta was quite dry and bland. Just a thin pork cutlet breaded that needed salt and/or a dipping sauce. And by the bone, still very raw.
