Again, much like my stay at the Travelodge at the Presidio, this experience was made all the better with good customer service! We showed up here early much earlier then our check in time and with the intention of getting checked in and over to Six Flags. The issue was we were traveling with one of our pugs and obviously had to get him situated and comfortable. I do not remember the name of the lady at the front desk, but for starters, she was all smiles and so polite. After asking if we could get an early check in, she initially said there were not any rooms ready yet. We then explained we were traveling with a small dog, and she immediately looked for ways she could accommodate us and made it happen. She even offered to watch him at the front desk, were he small enough (which he would have been) though I am not sure that would have worked as I would not want to inconvenience her so much, but it was a generous offer.
We spent the bulk of the day at Six Flags and returned to the hotel at about 9 p.m. The hotel has a decent bar and serves food until 10 p.m. The menu is straightforward and simple, some sandwiches, pizzas, and I think there were a few salads. We enjoyed a few drinks, relaxed in the ample lobby on a couch, of which there was plenty of seating available, and proceeded to unwind. I had a turkey BLT, served on white bread, and while I wouldn't place it on my sammich board (didn't meet the requisite awesomeness requirement) it was good enough and hit the spot. We also ordered a pepperoni pizza, which the kids seemed to enjoy well enough, I wish I could comment myself about it, but they were not willing to share; guess they were pretty hungry themselves. Here, again, the staff also made a huge impression, they were just incredible helpful, polite, and accommodating; I know it is easy to say that they work in hospitality and that is the expectation, but it never ceases to amaze me how some people in that line of work forget that hospitality is their job. This wasn't the case at all here, and everyone was spot on, I did enjoy my stay, though it was brief.
The room accommodations were good, the bed was comfortable enough, everything in the room worked and we had no issues at all. On a side note, for the time being they are in the midst of a remodel, so there were some areas that are off limits for the time being; they advised us of this as check in and it was not an issue in any way. I would even say that despite the remodel, aside from seeing evidence of such, I never heard any noise or disturbance related to the work. read more
