Recent business travel to the hotel. The majority of the staff were pleasant, courteous and responsive during my staff. Ran into an issue after i left with the manager, Donna. She exhibits poor follow through, follow up, lacks professional courtesy and overall inadequate customer service. Bottom line, will not return to this hotel. read more

The room was clean and surprisingly quiet for a hotel that is right next to a noisy interstate. The room rate I booked was not available when I checked in, since I did not have a printed document and the emailed version did not work.This means I paid almost $70 more than the reserved price. I asked if other discounts were available because I qualify for those as well. I saw multiple options on the website, but not when onsite. Finally, the bathroom design is strange. You can only turn the water on while standing in the shower so you get cold water full on. Not a fan! read more

This hotel is conviently right off the highway (I35) With it being so close I was impressed I didn't hear one vehicle while I slept. The front desk ladies were very friendly. I had an issue being overcharged a deposit but one of the staff was VERY helpful and fixed the issue. Which leads me to add their is a $50 deposit fee per night. I stayed 2 nights but was charged $130 which is why I had to see customer service. They have a Starbucks in the lobby. ( my room coffee maker was missing a piece) well played Starucks from the lobby, I ended up purchasing some:) The shower was nice but did not fully close which let water out. Inconvenience. The grand finale was a red stain I found on my mattress! So overall it's a nice hotel but would look at other options. read more

I was torn on how to rate this hotel. We stayed here over the weekend and it was mostly empty due to COVID-19. It looks like most of the staff was let go. All weekend we saw Maher Aldawwdi the "Operations Manager" for the hotel. He checked us in and WAS NOT WEARING A MASK!!! In fact we saw him all 3 days and he never wore one. When we checked in he should have told us there is no housekeeping (they come to clean rooms after you checkout only) restaurant is closed, and pool and fitness center are also closed. When housekeeping never came, I used the Marriott app to request service. They still did not come. I used the app to respond and ask for towels and again no response. I visited Austin recently for work - and the usual list of hotels I attempted to stay in - were all booked - so I tried this one out for the first time. Checked in - no fuss, no muss, and made my way to my room. AC worked well - which was good, as it was very humid outside. The room itself was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, I got a good nights sleep. The room had a mini-fridge for keeping drinks cold. My only dings on this hotel was the HD TV service did not work well. One night, I was trying to watch the HGTV HD channel - and the signal kept going out. Super annoying. The in-room WiFi internet was a tad slow at times. I have never been to such a lacking Marriott hotel before. 1. The water pressure in my room was terrible in both the sink and the shower. When I say terrible, I mean non-existent. 2. When I went to the gym, more than half the dumbbells were missing. I reached out to the front desk about it and they said they would look into it, but they were still missing the next day. False advertisement from their photos. 3. When I went to the bistro to get some breakfast in the morning, I ordered oatmeal, but they didn't have it. The gentleman in front of me ordered the parfait, but they also didn't have that. The fridge at the bistro was pretty much empty save 3 Chobani yogurts. I asked if they had bottled water, they told me to go to the sundries shop. 4. I went to the sundries shop and the shelves were bare. No water. Just a few bottles of various sodas/energy drinks. 5. Thin walls. A group of guys were staying in the room next to me on my last night there. They played music or watched TV really loudly. I could hear pretty much everything they were saying and unluckily for me, they stayed up ALL NIGHT. I managed to fall asleep at 12am, but they woke me up at 2am because of their loud music. I managed to fall asleep again only to be woken up AGAIN at 3am because one of them was slamming doors and yelling in the hallway. I called the front desk at that point. This was a Thursday night btw. Needless to say, I went to the client office pretty tired that day. I will NEVER stay at this Marriott again. I've never had such a bad experience at a Marriott before. I always trust that if I stay at a Marriott that it will be 3 stars and above and I've never had issues before. I definitely will be reading reviews before I book at a Marriott again. The service deserves 0 stars. Called in to add a name to my reservation in order to check in, a female employee (not sure of her name as the owner is saying there is no Elise) told me to go online or call Bonvoy. Never have been asked to do this before in 15+ years. I told her to ask management and they either didn't talk to her or also gave her the same misinformation. Will never stay at this property again, rebooked at a property with a higher rate as the service was so lacking and poor. Also, how come you're the only one to implement these asinine rules? I can verify my identity via billing address, email address, confirmation number, and ID when I arrive. Don't you think you should be focused a little more on customer service and use tired and true methods to secure customer information? High end hotels don't even utilize the backwards thinking you do, yet you claim to justify this in the name of safety. I am calling you out on your negligence and also laziness. This is a disservice to the customer and the Marriott brand as a whole. I appreciate the prompt response here but focus this energy to update your policies and train your people. It is sorely needed. Avoid this hotel like the plague, they don't value customers based on loyalty, imagine how they would treat a new customer. I won't be staying here and neither will anyone from my company. read more

Was on a company trip and stayed at this location, right off 35 it was a convenient location for my stay. Area was lit and seemed very pleasant. Staff was nice and accommodating. The one thing that sucked was the ac unit was kind of loud. But I dealt with it it was just one night. They do have breakfast at this location wish is always helpful for good so that you don't spend unless you want to. Austin does have many breakfast tacos options. read more

Super surprised. I travel a lot. Room was dirty, carpet not vacuumed, and the front desk person did not seem concerned. They said I could switch rooms tomorrow. Upon my request they dropped off cleaner so I could clean the room myself, without apology. Handed it to me and walked away. Feels much more like a motel 6 than a Marriott. Since I arrived from a late flight just before midnight it looks like I will be staying for the night. In "Covid" times this seems really bad and sends a loud "we don't care about you" message. Do not make a reservation at this hotel. Awful. I made a reservation 10 months in advance (in November 2023) for 3 nights in October for the F1 race. 5 months later in March 2024 I received an email from the hotel manager that my reservation was taken in error and, as a result, it had to be cancelled since there was no availability. Had I been told shortly after I made the reservation, I might have been able to secure another room. Pretty much everything is now sold out and what is available is in excess of $1,000/night. I suspect they were able to sell my reservation for a much higher price and they cancelled my reservation to make more money. Oh, and as compensation they offered me a night some other time at the hotel for a reduced rate. Seriously, stay away. I am done with Marriott . . . period. read more

This place is kind of a dump. Got into my room and window was open, all screens were ripped off and thrown out side on the roof. There were also vodka bottles cigarettes clothes and all kind of stuff right outside for a pretty view. I knew austin had a homeless problem but I didn't think they lived on our balcony. Don't waste a dollar here. Went down to get coffee Saturday morning....one of the busiest times....their response."oh we don't open coffee bar on weekends" how is that even normal? read more

It's a solid experience. Not as new as they advertise, but it works for the business traveler. Nothing fresh from the kitchen it's all microwaved or straight from a package. One of the crappiest locations, the front of the hotel faces the expressway, everytime I requested to change my room to a room facing the back I was given the run a around. I've been a Marriott member for years and even though I was there on a work assignment the decorum of those at the front desk were less than hospitable, if they treat a long-standing Marriott Reward member like this I can only imagine how they treat anyone else. I Would Never Recommend this hotel to anyone, there several hotels nearby I would've chosen over this one, but the company chose this one. I will be reaching out to corporate regarding this. Yes spoke to an Amy who claimed to be the manager, who seemed to have the worst customer service skills ever, I gone to the pet store and had a more congenial and respectful interaction with the cashier. BF and I were on our way down to ACL this past weekend with no hotel in store for Friday night. We knew we would find the best luck with the 'burbs, so as we pulled into Round Rock, Pflugerville, etc we started scouting for a hotel off 35. After several pull offs and on's back on the highway because we missed what we were looking for, we saw this Courtyard. "Honey! Exit! Exit now!" as I screamed at him. I was immediately impressed with the well-lit parking lot and clean exterior - I could tell the building was relatively new. The friendly and helpful front desk clerk got us in a room for $109...sweet deal. In fact, I almost wish we would have canceled our Sat night room downtown and just stayed here. The room was VERY clean and well laid-out, complete with a walk-in glass shower! That sold me right there. The bed was pretty comfortable and the linens were soft and fresh. The next morning we went downstairs to eat in their new "reimagined" lobby -- they had a quick breakfast/sandwich counter complete with Starbucks coffee. I had a yogurt/granola parfait and latte, and BF had a fresh-made egg and ham sammich on ciabatta with breakfast potatoes. Not bad for a quick breakfast! I had trouble printing our ACL tickets on the lobby computer, so the front desk girl offered up her personal deskspace and PC in the back office for me to use. I was shocked! I can't imagine another hotel just letting you wonder around in the back by yourself to try and print out some tickets. We will most DEFINITELY stay here again. In fact, I'm considering emailing corporate and applauding the staff and cleanliness of the hotel...it was just that awesome. read more

Don't try to ever complain about this place! No one ever calls you back or calls when they say they will. This is very upsetting for a Marriott. Let me first start by saying I've stayed at this location before and it was good. This past weekend my dad stayed at this location and was woken up around 12am by loud partiers and slamming doors. He called the front desk and they basically didn't care at all! He also complained at check out and the lady didn't care what so ever! For a Marriott hotel they treated him as a motel 6 customer. When I contacted hotels.com for a refund or something, they contacted the hotel and the hotel said that my dad never once complained when he was there which is a LIE!!! We got off the elevator on the 7th floor and it smelled like mold, like muggy nasty bacteria and funk. We shrugged and continued down the long corridor to our room at the very end of the hall. The room smelled even worse, the windows don't open, and it was so dark and old looking. The sink was separate from the toilet and shower. The bathroom was so small I almost couldn't close the door (I'm 5ft tall). I opened the door, turned the air on full blast and turned on the vent in the bathroom. It only helped for that moment. The smell of sewage was emerging from somewhere in the bathroom. The room was right next to the freeway and it sounded like we were standing in front of traffic. No double pane windows to block the noise? We called down and asked for another room. The next room had a larger bathroom, but the ventilation still sucked. It was an adjoining room and I could hear the people next door very clearly. I travel pretty frequently and have never had a problem with hearing people through adjoining doors. I found a dirty hair tie sitting in the middle of the floor. Housekeeping starts early and they don't care if you're still sleeping. They yell to each other from room to room and bang their vacuums up against your door. Every morning I could hear them talking, yelling, moving around. This is also something I haven't experienced before in my travels. The front desk was very nice, but unfortunately that doesn't carry through my experience here. The hotel is near some garbage restaurants, but other than that you'll definitely need a car to get around. A couple of miles to anything decent and about 6mi to downtown. I overheard several different groups of people waiting for a taxi between 30-50mins. Parking and wifi are complimentary. read more

I came down from Houston with my family for Memorial Day weekend. This hotel was right across the bridge from where my brother lives. It was less than ten miles. We should have looked around before stepping foot in this place. Once you pay for your rooms, don't expect a complimentary breakfast on the side. There is an area called the Market to buy snacks on the left side before you get to the front desk. There is no complimentary breakfast or anything worth a free meal here. It is a bistro on the right side when you enter towards the front. The desk personnel will tell you the time when it opens.. so you could assume.. everything at the bistro has a price to it. The only free thing here was complimentary water and coffee from Starbucks. The inside was beautiful. It had a laid out concept. It looked different from a plain hotel. There is a business area. The rooms were nice looking too. But the beds were hard, not soft. You expect to pay for a hotel and get soft beds.. yeah right. Also you expect to pay for a night stay with a complimentary breakfast too.. well this is not the place. This hotel is all around money filled. My family will not be back! read more

I can't recommend this place. There are too many negatives. The plusses are the kind and helpful staff and the great free breakfast at the Bistro downstairs. There are also some interesting amenities like flavor-infused water in a large samovar in the lobby, with different tastes from strawberry to cucumber to pineapple, and a fire pit on the back patio. The minuses are legion. - Walls are thin, so we heard every word of the guy talking on the phone late at night on one side, and the people on the other side whose small child repeatedly chanted nonsense at the top of its lungs, which the parents apparently didn't care about curbing. (On the subject of noise, people in the lobby/seating area on the first floor are uniformly loud.) - Smashy, uncomfortable pillows. My neck was twisted every morning when I woke up. - One of the lights didn't work (in a room with already dim lighting). - The bathroom has so many bad points that I can't even begin to describe it. First, there are no bathroom cups, so you have to poach either from the coffee cups or cocktail glasses in the other room. The shower has no hook etc. for a wash cloth, just the vertical grab bar beside the faucet handle. You'll need that bar too, because there isn't any texture on the stone floor to keep you from slipping...especially when you're trying to shave your legs standing up: there's no tub, and no bench or seat to sit on. (Presumably designed -- poorly -- by a man who isn't attuned to these necessities.) The place is clean, and it's cheaper than the hotels closer into town, but that's about all it has going for it, aside from the polite staff. I stayed at the Hyatt nearby when we came to town before, and would pick that place, or probably most anything else comparable, than select this hotel again. read more

This was one of the best hotels we've stayed in. The staff is so very friendly. They are attentive when you walk in the door. They will stop what they are doing to smile and speak to you. I was so impressed with their business ethics. You must experience this hotel. The management is A+ in my book. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to leave. There is a fire pit outside on the first floor. Would be fantastic when it's cooler outside. Very inviting atmosphere. Only drawback is the breakfast wasn't complimentary. Most hotels like this one offer free breakfast. They do have a complementary newspaper. Would stay here in a heartbeat. read more

Sadly this is a nice and clean hotel but so poorly run by management. I left a pair of glasses at the hotel in early Nov. 2018. I paid for them to be sent via FedEx to me and never got them. When I followed up Fedex said the package was just handed to their staff member and no request for a receipt or tracking number. FedEx documented that the package was poorly sealed and the glasses slipped out and are not to be found. When I followed up with the hotel they acknowledged this and said they would cover the $300 stated value. Six months later I am still waiting. Every time I call I am promised by staff member Adrianna that it is being taken care of and the the hotel GM Danny Chambers would be in touch. I have never heard from Mr. Chambers and when I try and leave a message on his voice mail it says that his mailbox is full and can't accept messages. Not the best way to run a hotel. read more

I had the pleasure of being a guest here 4 times over the last year. Each room we were given was clean, spacious and we decorated. The lobby staff is so courteous and friendly always greeting all who walk in and making sure to greet you as you walk in or leaving. Love the Starbucks in the lobby by the way its one of my favorite things or shall I say most nicest things about this hotel is the Starbucks onsite! Management is very hospitable and had made it to come to our table and greet us and ask us if we needed anything. This hotel is about 13 -15 minutes from 4th and 6th street if your in to the night life Has lost of Great restaurants nearby and a 2 movie complex's nearby I recommend this place to anyone visiting Austin read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! We had an awful experience the moment we arrived. The hotel was overbooked, so they attempted to move us to another hotel, however we had a credit on file that we could only use at this hotel. Low and behold they find a room, which was a monstrosity. There were bugs, appliances barely being held together by glue and a foul stench in the room/hall. Furthermore, the service there is awful. They did not find the credit we had on file (even though we have a confirmation email and verbal confirmation from one of there employees). So they told us they needed to follow up with their manager before they could apply us with the credit. Fine. Furthermore, at checkout someone else had already checked our room out so we were not able to see the final charges billed. Weeks later after no communication from the management or staff, they explain the credit is expired (we had no knowledge or written policy about credit experation). This whole experience was completely awful and unnecessary for a terrible hotel. This is not a 3-star hotel or experience. I've had better experience or stays at Motel 6. Rest assured if you have any issues at this hotel DO NOT expect them to get resolved in proper timeline or with good customer service. Their operations manager is a joke. read more

After complaining to the front desk they rolled their eyes at me and moved me to another room that was equally disgusting .. apparently they are understaffed in maid service because when I asked to have my refrigerator cleaned since it wasn't and food was left in it.. it took over an hour for someone to come.. I am a Marriott Girl. I love my Marriott Points, but not always the hotels... THis time I picked a newer looking Courtyard to try it out. I walk into a clean lobby with a set up to my right similar to a small restaraunt... they serve breakfast there and then have dinner service with a pretty decent bar selection... After check in ( very friendly) I notice the interactive billboard which is awesome.... find a good place to eat!.. behind the billboard is some more seating and a little buisness area with two computers you can use in a jam ( i always have my laptop on me, but use these if I am in the lobby waiting for someone and need to look up something).. Outside the back is a little fire pit area... Great indoor Pool, and fitness center. The rooms have been updated with flat screen TVs ( many Marriots are lacking) and are comfortable, clean, and just makes me feel at ease.... Our of the Courtyard's I have visited, this was one of the best for Marriot so far... Cant' wait for them to update all their hotels... I booked the travel for my team ( 5 of us) and they all had positive things to say about the hotel as well.... Free Internet is always a plus.... Will be here again... read more

Normally this place is fine, but this visit had two issues which turned my opinion. First was rodent scratching noise in wall each night. Room 131 shares a wall with adjacent mechanical room. I brought to management attention. I hope they set a trap and get the rodent out of the wall. Second was a nasty large roach on my bath floor in middle of night. I squashed and took a photo. Room 131 is near the kitchen/cafe so this is gross. I hope they have pest control plan. read more

With so many events happening in Austin, hotels were being filled quickly, luckily the Courtyard had some rooms available. From the website, they had the best features: indoor pool, 24 hour fitness, relatively new location. Upon arrival, we were able to check in a little bit earlier than normal check-in time and the staff was so friendly! The place looked modern, similar to that of Aloft's decor per website and check-in took literally less than 5 minutes. The room was pretty, clean, the walk-in shower awesome and the no joke, their seed and grain soap made my skin soft. I would definitely stay here again since it was convenient to a lot of places and the domain is literally up the freeway. :D read more

Marriott Platinum member here, I know my way around Courtyards. Greeting by a smiling, enthusiastic and helpful Brittany Guttierez who had my room keys ready (I had checked in using the app - download it if you travel much at all). Room was reasonably clean but showing wear and tear. Bed was hard as a rock. Firm is okay, but a lot Marriott properties seem to be sourcing their beds from the Bedrock Quarry lately. Breakfast crew fast and friendly. Dinner crew needs training! Ate two dinners and wish I hadn't after each. On that note, this place is isolated so you need to drive to any alternatives for dining. Housekeeping missed my room one day while I was gone for six hours (10:00a - 4:00p) but there were plenty of towels and coffee already. My room faced I35 and it was NOISY. Even with the double pane windows it was NOISY. The windows are old design double pain and simply don't work well enough at sound blocking. Some of the weather stripping was loose too, which may have contributed to the noise level. read more

But she won't tell me how and what I will get when I asked for detail. She keep saying you will get more from email. But what. I never received email since I give out mine. Called back to ask after my stay , no one can find my reservation. WTF, how can you checked guest in if no reservation . Woke up 5:30 and try to get breakfast but they open at 6, it ok I wait but they refuse to even let me take look menu..... I've stayed at many a marriotts and have been known to opt for the courtyard rather than indepndently oqned "quaint" establishments. I stayed at the Courtyard during my interviews prior to moving to Austin and couldnt have been more satisfied. The place is clean, well maintained, well air-conditioned and the staff are genuinely kind and helpful. Champions food isnt anythign to write home about, but does the trick if you're hungry and only in ATX for the evening. They have a full breakfast buffet in the am equipped with cereals, muffins, eggs, make your own omelletes, waffles, etc. My parents now stay here any time they come visit. Also, the courtywar dis conveniently located near ALL downtown hot spot attractions. If you're going to be in the area, book this one. It's got the necessities and ammentieis down pat! read more
