This is one of the cutest boutique hotels I have been to in a long time. Lone Star Court is located…read morein the domain directly across from shopping, dining, and entertainment. The property reminds me of something that you would see in a movie somewhere in the southwest where people are just trying to hide out and not be found. It has such a cute rustic feel, with a lot of Texas flair. From the minute you arrive, you are given great service, greeted with amazing sense of essential oil, oils and leather with their signature fragrance in the form of a candle or room spray. For just $30 we were able to check in early at 1 o'clock instead of three which was great since I drove in town and had a lunch reservation, this gave us time to get unpacked and rest for a minute before heading over to the restaurant. They have lots of options in the mini bar, whether you are wanting an adult drink or just something cold and fizzy. When we arrived, they did give us a complementary bottle of water as well as a cold beer that I sat out on our little porch and enjoyed as the rain started to come down. I love all of the detail put into these rooms, it is such an amazing property, but I'll be honest there were way more kids than I expected, but it was Easter weekend so I guess a lot of families were traveling. I really wanted to get into the pool, but it was massively crowded. They have an outdoor bar as well as a café on the property that has live music and an enormous fireplace and plenty of big screen TVs to watch sports. Every evening they light up the fire pits and if you want to make s'mores, you can purchase a s'mores kit for just $10. They do not allow smoking in the rooms but allow you to smoke on the little patio outside your door. This has definitely become one of my favorite places to stay in Austin, which is difficult because there are so many amazing places in Austin, but Lone Star has definitely stepped into my top five. The young man that checked us in was great and he comped our valet parking! Truly phenomenal service. I'm looking forward to coming back!

This boutique hotel delivers a resort-inspired experience with an upscale twist and is known for its vintage charm with modern amenities. I arrived on Friday night and check-in was efficient, I had to provide my credit card for incidentals. I was given a choice of beer or bottled water upon check-in. The host directed me to my room location. There were several parking lots on the property and I was able to park close to the building with my room which was convenient. The provided a parking permit for complementary parking. The rooms offer a seamless blend of modern comfort and relaxed luxury and well-designed with a very open floor plan with a farmhouse door separating the restroom from the bedroom area. I was on the third floor. Each room had rocking chairs out front for a relaxing vibe. I especially appreciated how easy it was to step right outside and be in a communal space. it made connecting with others throughout the weekend effortless. One of the highlights was the courtyard area. Whether it was live music, lounging by the pool, or just gathering around in the evenings, the atmosphere felt lively without being overwhelming. It struck a nice balance between fun and laid-back. They had many communal areas set up with fire pits and a nice outdoor communal bar area where we held our silent disco. They also had a great event space where they hosted our group. The Water Trough bar and restaurant provided a breakfast and dinner dining experience. They also had an indoor bar area with live music for entertainment. Only issue was they did run out of food at dinner. The location in the Domain is also a positive. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance, so there was always something to do between retreat activities. If I had to point out a downside, it would be that the social atmosphere can get a bit noisy at times, especially if you're looking for a quiet stay. But for a group event or weekend getaway, it actually adds to the charm. We contributed to the noise with our outdoor kareoke set-up. Overall, Lone Star Court is a great choice if you're looking for something comfortable, stylish, and built for connection. Perfect for group retreats or anyone wanting a more lively, communal hotel experience.

I've been DYING to go back ever sense. I don't think I can even explain to you how addictive and all consuming the joy of playing these games are. Bonus, it's for sure a work out. If I lived closer I would would be at this joint two or three times a week, and in the best shape of my life. The games are all fast paced and high energy, but does it feel like a workout? Not at all, until you realize when you are so SHWEATY. It's like burst sprints mixed with body weights and maybe some yoga? I just know that I loved it in a way that I haven't loved physical activity since I was in my teens. The staff was all super friendly too. The perfect kind of friendly as well. Polite, informative, but not all fake high energy/chatty like your at a kids camp. It was nothing but good vibes. It was fairly busy when we went, which means we had to cycle through rooms pretty fast, but there are so many rooms! You can always go back for your favorites again later, and some of the ones that "looked" boring were actually the most fun for me. I was practically BEGGING them to give me a membership, but they don't do those... Yet? There was some discussion of some locations offering memberships as a trial run, and that it might become a thing nationwide. *fingers crossed* GO!

We be all up in Activate letting our inner kid out. It is a little pricey per person, but I'd say it's worth it. I would suggest booking online before going, but it's not a requirement, you may just have to wait a little if the time slots are unavailable.

I took my 11-year old son here as a fun day with dad, and we had a blast!…read more The staff was really nice, and they proactively offered the bundled pricing since we were buying 3 experiences. Not everyone wore name tags, so I can't call everyone out who helped us, but Joey, Clinton, and Brandon were all helpful! The manager was great to chat with, too! My son said, "I think the staff was really nice." Full disclosure: They gave him a free snack because it was his birthday. We were there for almost 4 hours, and we leisurely completed 3 activities, and we spent $142 in total for 2 of us: $57 Life Chronicles - This is a 45-minute immersive expedition that took us on a historical tour of the Earth, allowing us to be in the action from 3.5 billion years ago to 500 million years ago to 300 million years ago to 67 (yep...I got to hear THAT in VR) million years ago and then a few more until we made it home! The kid loved this, and this was his favorite. My son said, "I think it was cool that the machine guided us and kept us from running into walls. And, I think it's cool that the machine scans the walls and floors to know where you are...that was really cool." They said it lasted 45 minutes. $28 Space 3D Hologram Zoo - This is interesting...this one is AR (augmented reality), not VR. You walk along a holographic wall where we could see planets and space stations. There is 1 longer section, then 3 small sections. The longer section was really worthwhile to me. Even though it's not immersive, I still enjoyed the experience (it felt like the 3d-element worked better here). I even learned that Europa may have ice volcanos! My son said, "That was amazing, really cool, crazy cool. I liked that there was more than one projectors in the first room, so it looked like asteroids were really floating. I also liked the folding 3-D papers they gave out." $57 Space-Themed VR Escape Room - With only 2 of us in there, we didn't escape...ok, we only completed 56%. BUT, he chose it as a surprise to me! It was fun, but getting used to manipulating the environment without actually touching things was challenging. Plus, he's shorter, so there were parts he couldn't reach. This one had a technical problem that caused us to sit in the headgear for at least 15 minutes before they could get us going. My son said, "I really like that we could open and close our hands (and make them double-jointed) and that we could throw things." If you're on the fence, I thought this was much better than just going to play video games at one of the usual destinations.

My friends and I decided to go check it out after seeing that the Zoocade wasn't too far away. Although it is recommended to pre-purchase your tickets for your timed entry slot, we winged it and did a walk-in. Fortunately, we able to purchase tickets and the wait was less than 15 minutes. Once inside, you are guided to a small area to have a seat and to watch a very short instructional video on how to maneuver through the game. Then someone fits you with an AR headset and you "press" the start button when you're ready. You have 30 minutes to go through the quest. As you complete each task, new objects appear - important to look all around and up and down in order to see all of the images shown to you. It was an expensive yet interesting experience. The facility also offers other games to play and adventures to experience, including an arcade. I also notice a large seating area that appeared to be reservable for parties. Near the entrance there is a gift shop to purchase some items. It is an area that can be fun for all ages, if you're in to these types of games and experiences. I think that it is worth considering.
