I attended a lovely evening wedding at Villa Antonia! It's located just about an hour outside of Austin. The wedding coordinator did a great job making sure the decor was truly how the couple envisioned it and the views were lovely as the sun went down! Everything turned out beautifully and they had some great, non traditional vendors offered through this event space such as an onsite coffee cart that my friend included in her package! The drive up was winding and narrow so that's something to be mindful of! They have three small parking lots and their staff have golf carts that can take you from the parking lot to the venue. I do have to take off one star due to no staff being available to transport guests close to the end of the night to lot 1 which is up a hill, it was dark and many guest were in heels. read more

Wow, wow, and wow! This is hands down the most stunning Tuscan-style venue I've ever seen in Texas. I attended a wedding here in June, and it was breathtaking. The ceremony overlooked the venue's gorgeous views, creating the perfect backdrop for such a special moment. After the ceremony, we headed downstairs for cocktail hour while the newlyweds took photos. The overall setup was flawless--definitely, a picture-perfect venue that will fill up your camera roll. The wedding reception layout was beautiful, though I did feel that guests seated on the far side of the room couldn't see the top table very well. It might have been better to position it more centrally to improve visibility. The food was incredible! They served a Mediterranean-style buffet featuring grilled vegetables, fresh salads, grilled chicken, and fish--everything was delicious. From start to finish, the wedding was nothing short of amazing. The staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. Beautiful, accommodating event space! I was a bridesmaid for a wedding here and loved the location and service. The estate is spacious with lots of great spots for pictures. We dined outside underneath the stars, which was a magical experience. Two things to be aware of though...One, the space for the ceremony itself is quite small. The wedding was about 80 people, and there wasn't enough space for the wedding party to stand in a line with the bride and groom. We all had to sit instead. About a 45 minute drive from downtown Austin, this wedding venue was breathtaking with views of mountains and greenery for days. The only thing we had to get past was the narrow, tortuous road of death up the hill to get to this place. Word of advice: drive like 5 mph; and if no other car is coming in the opposite direction, just take the whole road for yourself. That way, you won't feel so close to the edge of the road. Anyway, back to the venue itself. There were many areas to take beautiful pictures. Thankfully, It was a bright and sunny day. From the courtyard, to the chapel, to the reception area, everything had a classic style to it with a European touch. The food that was catered here was pretty good. It was pretty standard, with just a slight Asian twist. I ate japchae, sautéed vegetables, roasted brussel sprouts, braised beef, and baked salmon. I got full after just one plate, even though it was a dinner buffet. It would be ideal if you booked a hotel nearby so that you don't have to drive in the dark back down the scary hill. Unfortunately, we had to go into the darkness. Not fun. Just tread lightly and carefully. Otherwise, this was a beautiful and romantic venue to hold a wedding. read more

I was very excited to work for this venue as a vendor, however I was very disappointed by how the staff treated my team throughout the day. Monica was very disrespectful and demeaning and made the day a lot more stressful and upsetting. I don't understand why we can't work as a team with the venue on sight instead of being disrespected and undermined. Dave was so kind and genuine and I do appreciate how attentive he was throughout the day. He was the only person throughout the whole day that treated us with respect. Kindness goes a long way and I hope that your team can work on this in the future. I will not be coming back here in the future. If you're not on their preferred vendor list, don't work here. We knew we wanted to do a fully DIY wedding but still needed a beautiful backdrop to serve as a canvas. As soon as we arrived at Villa Antonia, we were speechless and taken aback at how beautiful the venue was. It's atmosphere was romantic and magical at the same time. With so many options, you can be creative with how unique you wanted your wedding to be. The staff was just as amazing and was completely accommodating. We actually had to postpone our wedding during covid and they were so helpful with making something so stressful, so much easier. Chris was spectacular and a superstar. With her help and our coordinator Koehne Barlow, they made a miracle out of a wedding that was almost, just almost a last minute disaster especially with the wind. But they got their expertise together and took out their wands and voila. Our ceremony took place inside in the gorgeous chapel which had perfect lighting. Just enough for a romantic setting, yet bright enough for gorgeous photos and videos. Terra Vista string's music (recommended by Villa Antonia) echoed perfectly through the chapel and sounded phenomal, setting the perfect mood. The reception was on the terrace and spread throughout (for covid reasons). The heaters provided warmth yet created such a magical ambiance. We used Mopsie (super delicious!) as our caterer and chose the Texas BBQ. The ceremony and cocktail was by Terra Vista. Both highly recommended by Villa Antonia. Terra Vista and DJ Saint from Complete Wedding and Events, played together whimsically and so profoundly, their fusion was one of the highlights of the night. Austin was known for live music, and we wanted to make sure that all of our guests (95% from out of town) can experience Austin's live music wonders. The night ended with dancing in the chapel which was spacious enough for crazy fun dancing and whatever you and your guest plan for the rest of the evening. We had snake dances, toss dances, line dancing, and tamborazo. Not to mention the garter and bouqeut toss. I can keep going and going about the wedding but I'd be writing a book. Our wedding is still talked about, and was said to be the wedding of the century! Lol. I wish the day last much longer, or at least keep replaying. Everything about this venue is so perfect, from the Italian villa vibes, the view overlooking Lake Travis, and all of the different spaces you can utilize at this venue. Chris Spady, the venue coordinator, is such a joy to work with and was incredibly helpful in answering all of my questions (which was a lot since I was planning an Austin wedding from Dallas). Our friends and family could not stop talking about how beautiful our venue was, and I really believe pictures don't do this place justice. This was the only venue we looked at because I knew before we had even parked the car for our tour that we wouldn't find anything as breathtaking as this venue. As wedding photographers, this is one of our absolute favorite venues to photograph. There are so many beautiful little locations and we never struggle to find a wonderful spot for photographs. The getting ready area for the bride is spacious and has great light. The getting ready room for the groom is smaller, which is common. The stairwell, the patio, the rooftop terrace, the wooden doors, arches, so many amazing architectural details here. We could shoot this venue weekly for a year and not run out of ideas. Some venues you have to be careful to avoid certain angles because you need to hide unattractive features, but at Villa Antonia we get to completely focus on our couple and their guests, without worrying about distracting backgrounds. I am very disappointed with Villa Antonia. Read the contract carefully and think ahead. Don't expect any meaningful sympathy or goodwill if things go south and you need to cancel. I booked a February date with four months' notice. I had to pay in full. Less than a month later, unfortunate circumstances led to me needing to cancel. I kindly and humbly asked them to be gracious and refund 50%. Even if they couldn't rebook, they'd make $3,500 without hardly lifting a finger. But...no chance. They kept every cent and no amount of pleading with them helped. Sweet and courteous people on the surface, but greedy and heartless to the core. Keep that in mind when signing on the dotted line and writing that check. Also, don't just take my word on this. Look beyond some of the glowing reviews on Yelp and you'll find evidence elsewhere of this heartlessness. I recommend you find a different venue with folks that have more humanity and compassion. Life can be unpredictable and when you're writing a check for seven, eight or nine thousand dollars, you'll want to know you're dealing with someone that can show some sympathy and understanding. Someone that will work with you to at least soften the blow if life causes you to stumble and fall-not callously roll over you when you're already down. read more

We have been extremely disappointed in how Villa Antonia has dealt with us after the COVID pandemic hit. We planned to get married at the villa on October 10, 2020 and have had the date booked for almost two years. When the pandemic hit, we were hoping that it would be cleared up by October, and we waited it out for as long as we could, but by May we reached out to Villa Antonia to do our diligence about postponing. Most other venues appeared to be dealing with the pandemic appropriately, so we were hopeful. However, Villa Antonia refused to deal with us reasonably, from May and through continuous conversations up until now, essentially ignoring many of our concerns and signing off with "happy planning!" We paid premium price--$7,500--for a Saturday wedding in October, but the venue only gave us these options: * Go through with an extremely dangerous event (for our families and the community) * Switch to a Monday through Thursday in 2021 at the premium price we'd already paid (even though these usually cost $4,000) * An additional $500 fee for any open date in January or February (even though generally Friday and Sunday events in these months cost $500 LESS) * Or a $1,200 fee for any Friday or Sunday in the hottest months of the year (June, July, or August, even though these usually cost between $5,300 and $5,800). The fees wouldn't apply if our date was re-booked by someone else, and we could pick a future open date in that instance, but we would still have to pay the premium price for a future, potentially non-premium date (and none of the dates available were ideal for us). In the more likely situation that nobody re-books--and nobody has, for the obvious reason that it's not safe to do so--we will have to make the choice of hosting an extraordinarily unsafe event or paying MORE than what the venue would typically charge for an event in 2021. This sort of exploitation is unacceptable during a pandemic. read more

This place is AMAZING!!!! Perfect place for a wedding, reception, or special event. It looks like a castle and is overlooking the Texas Hill Country and Lake Travis. We went for a wedding on Saturday evening and it was beautiful. The weather was cool and there was a breeze, and not a cloud in the sky. The place was decorated beatifully and the staff was very friendly. The landscaping and the atmosphere of the villa is perfect for a wedding or other special occasion. The second we pulled up to the villa we were all in awe of how beautiful it was. It definitley made me want to get married there. I am sure it is SUPER expensive but it would be worth it. The ceremony was outside right as the sun was setting and the first part of the reception ( dinner ) was in one big room....then, the dancing, cake cutting, toast, etc. was in another section of the villa. There were several bar areas set up and a mexican band playing out in the courtyard throughtout the night. This was probably the prettiest wedding I have ever been to...and I have been to ALOT of weddings. I hope one day I will get married there...or at least go to another wedding there :) read more

The view is very nice. That's the only good thing that I can say about this place. We recently attended a wedding here. The weather forecast was a little iffy, so the (inexperienced) wedding planner moved everything inside. The "reception" directly after the wedding was a fiasco. The two hundred guests were crammed into the foyer of the main building with only one bartender for the whole group, No way to get a drink. It could easily have been outside in the perfect weather. The food was inedible. The meat - I think it was spareribs or something - was burned. The mac and cheese was pathetic - not even as good as Kraft out of a box. There was also an unidentifiable and strange tasting vegetable medley. Everything was cold - they had not lit the sterno under the serving containers. I came away hungry. The host had paid extra for salt and pepper on the tables (huh??) but they never put it out. They are still arguing about price adjustments for the pathetic experience. And if you have to be inside bring your earplugs - the noise is horrendous with all the stone and glass. We are used to establishments (private) who know how to handle a large group. They likely don't count on repeat business, so reviews are the only way to warn people. Avoid! read more

We originally fell in love with Villa Antonia because of its beautiful architecture and landscape: the romantic, castle-like buildings; the rolling hillside; the numerous different areas to discover and photograph (butterfly garden, waterfall, chapel, tower); and the flexibility of having both a beautiful outdoor and/or indoor wedding. However, when we started working with the staff at Villa Antonia, we realized we were getting so much more than just the beautiful space. First, they already had all the tables/chairs we needed for our wedding, so we did not need to invest in outside rentals. Second, their staff are knowledgeable and experienced in planning and hosting weddings specifically at Villa Antonia, which means they know what ideas will work and what will need to be done day-of to help things run smoothly. There were three Villa Antonia staff during our wedding - Emily, our day-of coordinator; Maria, who helped with moving things and dress-bustling; and Jim, the security/parking attendant. All of them had years of experience servicing Villa Antonia and, due to their help, we were able to sail through our wedding and actually enjoy ourselves rather than worrying about what needed to be done next or focus on any fires that needed to be put out. Emily took care of communication with all our vendors, both day-of and leading up to for day-of coordination, and Maria expertly helped with set-up and break-down of items (including dress-bustling!) that we barely noticed! We appreciated their help and presence every minute, and we realized the service we received couldn't have been bought! The venue is well worth the money - you get a gorgeous, multifaceted space that comes with its own furniture and an exceptional staff that makes sure your wedding is everything you want it to be. read more

After "interviewing" with five other wedding venues, we were referred to this venue by our wedding photographer ... and we fell in love with the place almost immediately. The people who run this place are nice, professional, thoughtful and willing to help you with anything you need. I was also able to get my bridal shoot done there at a discounted price (due to me having booked with them for our wedding day). That day was so much fun, thanks to their great team! During the wedding rehearsal, it got super hot in the cathedral. So I was a little worried. But on the day of the wedding, the AC was running perfectly, and they even brought us water throughout the evening to keep us hydrated. (We had scheduled our wedding day for the longest day of the year, ha!) Long after the wedding, people kept letting my husband and me know how beautiful they thought the place was - and kept posting pictures of the place and the views surrounding it on Facebook. Our wedding coordinator was also able to make the transition between the ceremony to dinner and reception very easy due to the place having so many pretty location options for the needs of our wedding. Went to a wedding here last weekend. Gloriously beautiful place, lovely views inside and out, well suited for wedding or event photography, etc. Although it was an outdoor ceremony in late August, the hillside placement virtually guarantees heavenly breezes and it wasn't onerously hot despite 95+ temps. The indoor rooms were air conditioned very well so bring a little wrap or sweater. It's a heck of a drive from central Austin and the last few minutes of the drive is on a very rutted, unpaved, bumpy road. No fun. Also, virtually no parking close by. Fortunately they hired off-duty cops with golf carts to shuttle you to and from your car. The decoration was stunning. Not sure whether that's the bride's credit, the florist's, or the event location's. Unfortunately if you have 100+ guests, your dinner area will be spread throughout more than one room, so depending what table you're at, you may not be able to see the bride/groom or see/hear the toasts. The food? Meh. A resounding meh. Granted, it's a 'spensive place (though the wedding was on a Friday night) so you know people are cutting corners with the food. It was a plated meal-- frou frou leaf salad, chicken piccata, (small) half a tomato heated until barely warm but not really roasted, with a dollop of Boursin cheese on top, and half-cooked, still nearly crunchy scalloped potato. I have since read that the in-house caterer is way far away and has to truck the food in?!?! that's NUTS. I can blame them for the crappy cake since it's an in-house caterer. It was dry, fluffy, like exploded sawdust. Still, a gorgeous, gorgeous location. Maybe get your bridal portraits done here and go elsewhere for the wedding itself. read more

I'm a bride who got married here, and this was the most beautiful venue we've seen and experienced. It's hard to beat the gorgeous architecture and Tuscan-style feel. We had a relatively intimate wedding with 100 guests, so the space really worked for our purposes. I know the management has changed and the coordinator has changed, too--though, I never had any complaints about either. It is great news for future brides that they've opened up the catering to your choice of vendor. I hope this venue continues to do well! They made some serious improvements during the year I was planning our wedding. They removed the out-dated cabinetry in the kitchen area and it looks much better (less like a kitchen, more like a drink or dessert station, now.) The private road to the venue is paved, now. And the parking situation is much better (I don't know what the church parking comment was, maybe that was a long time ago). One thing to think about is the size of your wedding. I just don't think a 400 guest list wedding will do well, here. It will be very broken up and divided. I'd keep it smaller. Maybe less than 200. And don't be afraid to utilize the space! There are so many areas to take advantage of, though, plan for that in your budget. It may or may not be an option for you to do that. read more

The wedding was on Friday the 13th. Maybe it was the only day available, or the couple got a discount or something. Okay I just checked the website. It's $5000 for a 6 hour slot on a Saturday evening. Jeez louise! The truth is, they could probably charge whatever they wanted and still get clients. It is so so so so so so so so so so beautiful. The architecture is gorgeous. The layout of the property and options for staging an event are numerous. The foliage is jaw-dropping. The view is fantastic. The interior design is flawless. So beautiful. Girls, if you're on a budget and go to check out this place for your wedding, hold on to your wallet. It'd be hard to resist. Although, you would save money on flowers, because you wouldn't need any with all the pre-existing flora. The only weird thing is that the Villa only has about 5 parking spots. All of your guests have to get shuttled in from a church parking lot about a mile away. That was kind of awkward, and took away from the "Oh wow we were magically transported to Italy" vibe. I honestly don't know why the reviews for this place are so low on Yelp, but I only have AMAZING things to say about Villa Antonia and Michaja. I just got married there (11/11/10) and I was a bit concerned after reading all of the negative reviews, but Michaja was absolutely perfect the day of our wedding. She made sure everyone knew what they were doing and where they were supposed to be. She was constantly checking on my new hubby and I, as well as our parents. I mean, I had the absolute best wedding of my life and I know everything ran smoothly ONLY because of Michaja. The venue is gorgeous. It is a bit out of the way, but none of our guests were put out by this because once they saw the view and how gorgeous it was, they were completely in aw. I am still getting calls and texts from my family and friends saying it was the most beautiful and perfect wedding they have ever been to. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Also, they used to have an exclusive catering contract with Sterling Affairs (who catered my event and did phenomenal, may I suggest the Italian Stuffed Chicken!!) but they no longer have that so you can choose whoever you want to cater. I just suggest going with their referral list because the venue is unique therefore the day will run more smoothly if you work with vendors who know the place real well. read more

Super disappointed on how Villa Antonia (AMY) was handling our arrangement due to COVID-19. We were lie to in our faces then told us we couldn't make a change because they were no dates available for fall 2021 since everything was booked since last year. For some reason my gut told me doesn't sound to real. So I asked my friend to call and pretend she's a new bride inquiring about a fall date in 2021. They send her the calendar and there's plenty of date available for 2021 most Fridays available (which that's the date we were looking into) and a few Saturday open. We were NOT asking for money back we were simple asking to have a new date. It was so disappointing to find out the dates we were requesting were denied for the reason that they wanted to keep those prime dates open for new brides that way they have money coming in since they have lost money due to covid-19 which we understand we are all loosing money and we have to change our dates due to family traveling from out of the country and we are making sacrifices but to know that the venue that your getting married at would understand and will want to make your day most special and do anything in there hands to make a bride happy and fulfill there dream wedding instead they care more about the money. Then after realizing she was cough and said we decided NOT to approve your request and pretty much said good luck planning and hope your able to keep your date with all who are able to join, knowing most of our family is coming out of the country. read more

I took off one star because it is very difficult to get to the location and parking is a bit tricky (require golf carts to get to the car/venue). It wasn't my wedding so I can't review the wedding coordinator or the pricing, but the wedding I attended went off without a hitch and the views are worth adding this venue to your list of possible wedding locations. read more

Our church, Trinity Anglican, meets here every Sunday and it is so beautiful. The views are stunning and the spaces are so beautiful. I lived in Italy for years and this looks like something straight out of the Southern countryside. There are balconies, gardens, paths, fish ponds and a man made lake with fountains. This includes a chapel, garden area, 2 terraces that overlook the hill county/lake, an inside area (which is equally as gorgeous as the outside), a bridal suite, 2 grooms room options, a private rooftop/tower, and a venue coordinator/team to help with organizing/executing your special day. Off the winding FM 1431 road toward Jonestown, TX sits a stunning mansion above the trees, surrounded by nothing but awesome views in all directions. We attended a wedding here and holy-take-your-breath-away! What a beautiful venue!! The waterfalls, the hilly views....awe it was just picture perfect. The driveway is a bit steep, but not to worry, if you park in the second parking lot, a golf cart will chauffeur you down to the stone courtyard. After the ceremony on the gorgeous outside patio, the caterers walked about the courtyard serving us tasty appetizers on silver trays. Into the main Villa, the stone bar sits at the foot of a winding staircase, across from a huge fire place and tall windows with views of trees and lights, just in front of another waterfall, right next to the library and sitting area, with a hallway that circles back around into the kitchen and on down to the dinning area. I recently got married here this past October and Villa Antonia helped to give me my dream wedding. No pictures can do this place justice...it is a little slice of Tuscan paradise in the middle of Texas Hill Country. I brought in around 100 out-of-town guests (mostly from Chicago) for our wedding and each and every one of them gushed over how breathtakingly beautiful our venue was. It was truly a privilege to have been able to create such precious memories in such a gorgeous landscape. Not only is the venue itself 5-star but Chris and the Villa Antonia team were just as wonderful. We signed our contract with them over a year away from our wedding date and Chris checked in with me from the time we signed up until the day of consistently to remind us that they were there if we needed absolutely anything. The Villa also provides INCLUDED event planners! These amazing ladies orchestrated our event and made the day worry-free. From flawlessly helping to set up the event to having drinks and food on stand by in between pictures during cocktail hour to make sure we weren't missing out on the party this team was on point! Not to mention, they saved the day for our rehearsal when our wedding planner that my mom had hired on the side was MIA. My daughter's wedding was this weekend at Villa Antonia. It was an absolutely perfect experience! Chris and her staff were so organized, calm, accommodating, and professional. Unbelievably easy to work with. I had so many questions, made so many changes, and sent so many emails in the months before the wedding. And each and every time, Chris was patient, responsive and helpful! Despite the fact that this venue books up early, Chris and her staff made us feel like our wedding was all that mattered. And the venue - the venue is just beautiful! I can't tell you how many people told us this was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to! Everyone loved taking pictures in front of the setting sun overlooking a stunning valley with Lake Travis in the background. In terms of attendees - we had 180 guests (more than we expected). So about 30 of them did not fit on the terrace seating for the wedding. They were seated just off of the terrace, and were able to see and experience the wedding without any problems. We were lucky enough to have absolutely beautiful weather, so we had the reception outdoors. Such a neat experience for everyone. And there was no problem accommodating that many attendees comfortably. Some specifics: The wedding was in November at 4:15, which worked perfectly for lighting and sunset pictures. Almost all of the vendors we used were from VA's preferred vendor list. They were all so easy to work with. Before the wedding, Chris had spoken to every one of the vendors we hired and had secured all the necessary arrangements with them. We didn't have to do anything but pick out what we wanted. Chris and the vendors took care of everything else. We had Spec's deliver alcohol for us the day of the wedding. We ordered WAY too much. Spec's bought the leftovers back from us. We just had to drive it back to their store. The bride and her bridesmaids enjoyed time in the bridal suite the hour before the wedding. I was worried this would not be enough time, but it was plenty. The guys had fun on the balcony waving at visitors as they came in. We ordered 6 "mushroom top" heaters, which seemed to work well. 8 probably would have been better, especially if it had been colder outside. I think the temp was in the mid 60's during our dinner. Bride and Groom cut the cake inside in front of the rounded staircase. This worked great. Seemed to be plenty of room for those who wished to watch. We ordered the extra hour at the end just so we weren't rushed, and it was well worth it. The timeline Chris helped us create worked flawlessly. Chris and staff kept us on schedule, without us even realizing it. At the end of the night, the staff had boxed all of our belongings up securely and efficiently. They even loaded up our cars for us. They also loaded the limo with bride and groom's bags and food and cake. When it was time for us to leave, all we had to do was drive off. My husband and I are sooooo happy that we chose Villa Antonia as our wedding venue! The day was absolute perfection! If you are thinking about getting married there and wondering if it's worth the expense...from my recent wedding in July 2011, it was totally worth it! The day ran so smoothly because of the helpful and friendly staff. Location and setting: Spectacular......the venue has so many options to really personalize your wedding. The surrounding views are beautiful and the setting for wedding photography had endless potential. Staff: We felt very well taken care of by all of the staff at Villa Antonia. They were a perfect balance between making sure everything we wanted was done and also giving us helpful suggestions on how to make the day run smoothly. Overall I really trust their experience with weddings and events....Throughout the wedding day they were so wonderful always asking me if I needed anything and checking in with me to see if I was ready to transition to the next event. The most notable part about the staff......every time I turned I would see them smiling.....I could tell they really love weddings and were genuinely happy for me and my new husband. My husband and I got married at Villa Antonia earlier this year, and booking the venue was the first thing we did after getting engaged. Throughout the process, the staff at Villa Antonia was wonderfully helpful and friendly. We were both coming from out of town, so this was a destination wedding for us. I can't say enough great things about Ms. Chris. She was very patient with all of my questions throughout the planning process, and her sense of humor and attention to detail kept me calm the day of the ceremony. For couples getting married here, I would highly recommend booking the honeymoon suite. The golf cart send off is fantastic fun, and no hotel can offer you the wonderful experience of having the place to yourselves that night and reflecting on what a wonderful celebration you just had with your family and friends. We just had our wedding there last night and I cannot say enough good things about the venue or the staff. Both are top notch! The ladies of Villa Antonia are beyond professional and were extremely helpful, every step of the way. They went above and beyond for my bride and myself and I could not thank them enough. i am gay...maybe i should say that upfront....sure, marriage for me is not legal....but i dont need legal to tell me who to love and how.... we have been planning our wedding and have been to most places in this area, not a single one has turned us away because we were having a commitment ceremony..and i wouldn't expect to be ....we were at Villa Antonia yesterday ...we sat down with the lady and she asked if my friend was the one getting married....no, it's these guys and they are having a commitment ceremony......straight out of her mouth she says...i dont want to offend anyone (oh,oh i think) but we dont do "those" here..... really? those? in general or because we are gay? i couldnt believe that people are really like that.....what? our love isnt good enough? our money doesnt spend?...i felt like she told me to sit in the back of the f**king bus..... she kept talking about how "austin" and "unique" they were, as we were trying to get out of there before i said something very rude...yeah...sure...... so yeah, they suck.... this is one of the the major austin event sites...and the only one that we have had this experience at.. so tell your friends cuz being shit on for who you love hurts no matter who you love and committing your love to another person is a beautiful thing and should be shared with those that really understand...not just people willing to take the money because they agree with your "wedding choice" spend your $1000's of dollars some where that isnt prejudiced and bigotted, that respects all people.... you should read their mission & vision statement....makes me laugh.... read more

My hubby and I got married here almost 7 years ago. I chose V.A.. after one of my best friends secured the venue for her wedding - we both completely fell in love with how beautiful it was and how it overlooked the hill country. We ended up having a great wedding but it was the little things in hindsight which I'm still unhappy about. First of all, a good friend of mine's band played at our wedding and the owner, Toni, pretty much talked me into having the band play in this room by a waterfall when I really wanted them to play outside in the fresh air, under the stars - where pretty much everyone hung out all night long. I felt so frustrated that we were paying a band only about 1/4 of the people were enjoying. Not to mention it was hot as hell in that room. Second of all, you'd expect for the price you pay for a wedding site such as this, you'd get great service but instead, I felt like my wedding decisions were being micro-managed with a lot of rules and regulations. One of them being that the guests could not enjoy any alcohol at all before the ceremony. Not even a glass of wine...wtf? Third, I felt like the venue's catering company, Sterling Affairs, at the time - was being forced down my throat. I chose to go with another caterer so I would be able to choose my own food so it would feel somewhat more personal. It wasn't until my friend's horrible experience with Sterling Affairs a few months prior, did I learn I should pick my own caterer. Next, I knew this ahead of time so I can't really complain about it - but it is a very long drive from Central Austin, so if you want your guests to have a great time, they need to have a ride back to town or find a hotel nearby. Finally, this holier-than-thou place turned down two of my good gay couple friends for their commitment ceremony. One of the reps for the place told them flat out in their faces that 'we don't do those kinds of ceremonies here'. Bottom line - unless their reputation and staff has drastically improved over the past couple of years, which by the looks of some of these reviews, it has not - go spend your good money elsewhere where you won't be micromanaged, you will be given proper and great customer service by people who appreciate your business and attention to detail. We loved aesthetics of the place but the coordinator who runs the place, was not very polite to say the least, runs a tight operation and sees couples as dollar signs not two people in love. First we booked it 14 months in advance and two weeks later asked if we could move it to the next weekend so we could have it on my fiance's parent's anniversary in honor of his late father. She was rude and disgruntled about it. Moreover the venue has tons of restrictions no music outside, no sparklers, etc. Anyhow, we had to change our wedding date because we were going to be out of the country for work. Moreover, the coordinator's strict and cold personality gave us the heebeejeebees (sp?) We asked for a partial refund of the 3500, and of course the answer was no...but the way the answer was delivered was cold and had a "tough shit" tone. Very unpersonable and fake. read more

I wish there was a way to wash away old reviews that no longer apply to this venue - the older concerns (unpaved road, short bar window, unpleasant venue coordinator, in house caterers only) have ALL been taken care of. The drive itself is BEAUTIFUL, the current venue coordinator, Ms. Chris Spady, is AMAZING and is very flexible about how long the bar can be open, and there is a variety of caterers you can choose from, and you can choose any other vendor you want! Now that that's out of the way - WOW is all I can say about this venue. I got married there this month, and it was absolutely perfect. Despite being in early January after a freeze, the foliage was beautiful. The architecture is stunning, STUNNING! But most importantly, Ms. Chris will make your wedding day so easy and fun. She contacts all of your vendors in the week before to ensure everyone is on the same page, the coordinates all deliveries and setting up everything - from dinner tables to guest books. There was water and champagne in the bridal suite from the moment we arrived, and her assistant made sure the groom and I had snacks while we took pictures during cocktail hour. The assistant also went around with me, helped me with my dress, and made sure my groom and I ALWAYS had drinks in hand, and just generally treated us like royalty. It was a crazy, and amazing, experience. Your wedding is going to fly by - choosing this venue will help you to enjoy every last minute :) read more

First of all, the ONLY reason I am giving this place two stars is because the venue itself is gorgeous! I just returned from my sister's wedding there. Although I tried to warn her against this venue after reading the bad reviews on Michaya she insisted that everything would be fine. Well it wasn't! On the day of the rehearsal, her appointment with potential clients were late which made her run late which caused the rehearsal to start 30 minutes late! So unprofessional! The day of, she was no where to be found until 5 minutes before we all walked down the aisle. My cousin should have received her so-called coordinator fee since she was retrieving things for the bridal party, helping out the photographer, etc. At the reception, people were having difficulties finding a place to sit since they did not have assigned seating and the odd layout of the room keeps majority of the guests from seeing the dance floor and hearing the DJ. It was a Sunday wedding and since majority people left, they rushed my sister and her husband to throw the bouquet/garter and well...leave! This was at 9:30 when the ceremony was at 6 and we did not sit down til at least 8! They had paid for the venue until 11 and we were shooed out of there and they were almost completely cleaned up by 10:30! My cousin tried to get a cold beer at 10pm and she couldn't! Fastest reception I have ever been to! I agree with the other reviews. If your heart is set on having your wedding here, hire your own coordinator...you will be glad you did! Or save your money and have bridal portraits taken here and ceremony/reception elsewhere. read more

I got married here a little over 2 years ago and as much as I would love to give this place 5 stars, I have to write this review from the accounts of the guests that attended and my mother-in-law who was the one that helped my wife run the show. Ill start off with the good. This place is gorgeous. We had visited several venues in Austin before we settled on this one and what sold us was the amazing view and architecture. We had 200 guests coming, and it was just the right size. It is simply the nicest looking Venue that Austin had to offer. Its good lucks really does offset the fact that it is remote and some guests had a difficult time getting there. I love lonely hilly drives though, so it was no big deal for me. That said, there are a few things that really sucked (that are supposedly fixed now). First, they practically forced us to use Sterling Affairs catering. They were very pricey, and even though the food was good, it was not worth the money they charged. Second, we asked and paid for extra fruit and appetizer stands, of which we got none. Third, the coordinator is not a good coordinator. I forgot her name, it started with an M, I think it was Micaylah or something. She was rude and off-putting. She was no where to be found and only showed up at the end of the wedding to usher guests out and close up the place. Bad bad bad... Our wedding photography was a better coordinator then she was. She was not worth the 500 we paid. Thank goodness we were wed somewhere else, because I would hate to think how she would run the ceremony. The staff also had a bunch of lame rules in place. Music had to be in the reception hall, no band could play outside due to the houses nearby. Lame, because honestly outside was the place to be. At least they let us open the doors of the hall so music could come out from inside. You cant use silk flowers, just fresh, for littering purposes (I guess that's acceptable). Finally, no matter what you do, they cannot budge on their early closing time. I believe it was 10PM? This was sanctioned by the neighborhood surrounding the Villa apparently. Thankfully we took the party to sixth with the rest of the young folk while the older folk retired to bed. My memories of the wedding were great, and I guess to some that is all that matters, but when I heard about the tiny things after the wedding, I realized that it was not as glorious as it seemed, at least for our guests. I couldn't have been more happier with the experience that I had with Villa Antonia on my wedding day! My aunt and uncle were married at this venue almost ten years ago. It is now under new management. I worked with Chris who is the wedding coordinator at Villa Antonia and she was phenomenal! She helped so much with my timeline and was very detailed with her work. She made sure that all of my vendors would arrive on time. The views are amazing. The venue is very clean and well kept. They have done a lot of beautiful remodeling!! This is, without a doubt, the most beautiful venue in Central Texas! Well, I'm biased, but between the beautiful views of the Hill Country, the Italian inspired architecture, and the amazing staff at Villa Antonia, my wedding guests are still raving about this venue being the "most beautiful wedding venue they've ever seen." To say the least, I truly got my fairy tale wedding here! The views speak for themselves, but I can also attest to the wonderful work that Chris Spady put into our wedding from start to finish. Even before my wedding, she was very attentive about checking in with me and asking about how our wedding plans were coming along, seeing if I had any questions, and being responsive via email. I know I will never be able to thank her enough or know half of the errands she completed for me on my big day. She was always on top of everything, coordinating with my Maid of Honor, and checking in with me periodically to make sure the event ran smoothly. She did everything from keeping the photographer/videographer on schedule, getting my dress bustled, seeing that all our fun activities at the reception were completed, lent us a table for our glass ceremony, and even got the microphone working for our dinner toasts.
