The trail was so so, not much of any type of back country we went through some property and then up a dirt road which turned around in a parking lot. There wasn't any steering from a walking pace which honestly was a little slow for me. I enjoyed my ride but probably won't return. If you ask me the ranch should do more for their workers.

What a perfect way to start our first adventure of the year, especially in the Year of the Horse This year, we've decided to create moments instead of buying things, and this experience was everything we hoped for and more. From the moment we arrived, everything felt easy and welcoming. The instructions were clear and simple, making the ride comfortable even if you haven't been on a horse in a while. Our instructor, Annabelle, was AMAZING -- knowledgeable, calm, kind, and truly attentive the entire time. I had the honor of riding Poncho, a strong, steady, and beautiful horse. There was something incredibly grounding about simply walking the trails, crossing through water, and fully trusting him to guide us safely -- and he absolutely did. That connection, that peace, that trust... unforgettable. We enjoyed this experience so much that we already know we'll be back in March, and we plan to end this year the same way we started it -- on horseback, making memories together. They have their 2 young sons (who they often have yelling fights) with and some tenant feeding horses quickly with obviously no experience whatsoever. There are many other issues I ran into like extremely low water in the Texas heat of summer. They has their hay nets laying in my horses pasture. My horses have shoes and that could end up a disaster. They have no meds on hand or vet established. They charge a lot for bare minimum care while I bought my own hay and feed. All around horrible experience. Sad for my mare.

Shannon and every member of the staff at the Retreat Ranch was available, loving, and so generous. They were authentically happy to be there and so us to join them in this oasis. They offer lots of activities for enrichment, but you don't have to do one thing if you don't want. The friendly, free-roaming horses create an air of gentle peace. Jennifer created such wonderful and healthy food for all of us. I could see, feel, and taste the love in every bite. I had the opportunity to do horse yoga, which was another magical experience that I can't wait to do again. I also learned to make candles, made a beautiful bracelet, and overcame my resistance to doing a cold plunge. They also have pools, loungers, a hot tub, and an innovative steam room. I don't want to give away too many of the surprises, but I highly recommend taking the time to do the Intentional Path. It is like an inspirational scavenger hunt. Even the 15 other guests were all open and hospitable. It was a pleasure to commune with like-minded souls from all over the country. I would highly, highly recommend an experience at the Retreat Ranch to any man or woman. I can't wait to return. It is a magical opportunity for self-discovery at any stage of life. The place was clean and just the right size for my wife and I. Being city folks you forget how dark it is out in the country at nights. It was nice. We signed up for these adventures to make the weekend even more fun: 1. Feed baby kangaroo(Bodhi). This was about a 30 minute session where we got to feed him a bottle and kibble. It really was an amazing experience. 2. Bucket of food and self guided feeding of animals. We walked the property and hid to feed so many animals. All of the animals were friendly toward people. They were all very good motivated. We encountered a giraffe, donkeys, zebras, horses, cows, pigs, dwarf steers, camels, emu, deer, buffalo and more. The animals were often trying to bully their way to the front of the line. The cow Oreo who has not skipped a meal was always front of the line. 3. Afternoon safari ride in ATV. This was a fun ride around the property. Did not see any new animals but had a great time. The cows out at pasture were thrilled to be fed. 4. Giraffe encounter and meal. This was a little expensive but I would spend it again. The giraffes were super friendly and personable. We wanted to take them home because they were so much fun. The guide, experience and never felt rushed made this worth it. Our guide was top notch. I think her name was Jackie but could be wrong.

The show times were NOT announced, so I had to wait 4-5 hours in the sun to see Lucinda. This place IS cool, and a great venue to see once, but i wouldn't go again unless it was someone I REALLY wanted to see, and then it would be in Winter. Good: Nice-looking proper Olde West Town, lots of food trucks, free water.

I believe there's over 500 animals here, which is insane! For the drive thru safari specifically, the animals will come to your car and you have the opportunity to get up close and personal to them. If you have food, they are very assertive in getting some and may get food and spit in your car, so be prepared for that. The animals that came up to our car included deer, ostriches, alpacas, moose, and zebras. Outside of the drive thru safari, they also have a petting zoo. They have capybaras here (which I'm a big fan of) so we also paid to see and pet them! Overall, a super fun experience if you're an animal lover. The tickets are also pretty affordable which is another plus.

We rode through the 7 areas of this very large "free range" zoo, which took about an hour. The tour guide was excellent, and the interaction with the animals was great. You can even "kiss a camel" literally! It was so much fun that we look forward to visiting again,
