What a perfect way to start our first adventure of the year, especially in the Year of the Horse This year, we've decided to create moments instead of buying things, and this experience was everything we hoped for and more. From the moment we arrived, everything felt easy and welcoming. The instructions were clear and simple, making the ride comfortable even if you haven't been on a horse in a while. Our instructor, Annabelle, was AMAZING -- knowledgeable, calm, kind, and truly attentive the entire time. I had the honor of riding Poncho, a strong, steady, and beautiful horse. There was something incredibly grounding about simply walking the trails, crossing through water, and fully trusting him to guide us safely -- and he absolutely did. That connection, that peace, that trust... unforgettable. We enjoyed this experience so much that we already know we'll be back in March, and we plan to end this year the same way we started it -- on horseback, making memories together. At Lone Star, the kids, of all ages, help one another and the trainers are personable, but also specialize in various styles of riding. We joined Pony Club, which we love because it teaches the kids how to care for the horses, not just how to ride them, and offers an opportunity to achieve ratings that are internationally recognized!

Our ride was scheduled to start at 4:00, but it got delayed with no explanation and we did not start until after 5:30. The sun had set by that time because of winter and we couldn't see any of the views. Also, we didn't do a true trail ride, they took us to the city park and we rode around there at night, it was absolutely underwhelming for what we paid. Lastly, there was this little girl who is the daughter of one of the instructors. At first she was cute and sassy, then it just got old. She spoke to the adults like she was one, telling them to "move" out of her way.

Beautiful cabins / bungalows, the owners and staff onsite were very nice, friendly and helpful…read more The restaurant onsite is nice, decent food, good wine/prosecco list, friendly staff ... when we had questions about anything, owners, staff were quick to respond and it was only 2 blocks away from Main Street, Fredricksburg.... * Only recommendations: would recommend about putting a couple air fresheners (i.e. plug-ins, etc), in some spaces... to help with the old wood smell, some areas gave a strong moldy smell, which is normal for old wood. I understand that the cabins are old, and authentic but it would help a little. I would also recommend a little better dusting, around window sills, and windows/curtains, a fair amount of dust that came off, every time we closed the blinds or pulled the curtains. That is the only reason I rated it a 4 instead of 5.

My child has had lessons here for 5 months and we can not say enough wonderful things about Mrs. Kathy and her staff. All the instructors are so kind with children and really have the inside track on how a child will best understand what instruction is needed. I have owned my own horse and had wonderful instructors and have also been on the other side when my other daughter took riding lessons and they were not nice or seemed to care about my child. I highly recommend Bee Caves Riding Center!!
