I was so hungry and they were so tasty that I forgot to "feed" the camera first. We both got the same burger - a Single Knuckle Burger with pepperjack cheese, along with lettuce, tomato, onion. My wife ordered their loaded Bloody Mary, which was very good - it's a shoe-in to win the Best of Ogle County if people try it. The burgers were very good. We decided to try it out. First off, you get into the parking lot by entering the RP Home and Harvest parking lot off the Route 251 entrance - there is NO other access. We got in around 11:40, and the place was empty - no staff, no customers. After a few minutes, the waitress / bartender walked in carrying a load of beer. She greeted us, and came back a minute later with the menus. We started with fried mushrooms for an appetizer - they did have a Pick 3 appetizer for $14, but there were only two of us, so we went with the mushrooms. They came out hot and fresh from the fryer, and were served with a small plastic container of what tasted like ranch dressing. We both ordered the OG Hopper, which is a smashed patty on a butter brioche bun, served with either fries (which we selected) or tots. You had your choice of toppings (we took them all, which included a slice of sweet pickle) and cheese, American, Cheddar or Pepper Jack. I did Cheddar, the wife selected Pepper Jack. It wasn't long before the burgers came out with the fries. Both were hot and fresh from the grille / fryer. The burgers were okay. She put us in the charge of the bartender, who brought our drinks, took our orders, and checked on us regularly throughout the meal, even though she was doing double duty. As soon as I read the menu I realized I was going to have a hard time deciding, but I love cinnamon ice cream, so I knew I needed to leave enough room for dessert. I ended up ordering the grilled cheese, which came with bacon (hold the tomato), and the homemade chips as my side. Everything was delicious. I brought half of my meal home, and it was just as delicious when reheated with my air fryer a few days later. My husband had the Acres Pretzel, which was huge and yummy. (I had a bite to try it!) The cheese sauce with it was thinner than expected, but very good. We started out with a Manhattan for me and some Lena Brewing caramel pecan coffee stout for him. Mine was perfectly crafted, and I took a sip of his, which was also yummy. In addition to my cinnamon ice cream, we each had a dessert drink. He had the Chocolate Caramel Kiss, and I had the Banana Bread. Again, very yummy. The cost of all of this came to under $75, which we thought was marvelous. Coming out from the city, the prices here are definitely more reasonable and much appreciated! We have this restaurant on our radar now, so anytime we are out this way again, we will head there.
