After they'd "completed" the job and left, I found approximately 50 nails littered around my patio and lawn. Thankfully I found a majority of them before my dog had a chance to run through the yard. A few months after the job, I noticed that the surface of the concrete was cracking and pieces were chipping off. I immediately contacted CHS and they accused me of putting chemicals on the concrete. I assured them I had never put chemicals onto the concrete. They ignored my calls and emails for weeks until the owner, Tim, texted me and once again accused me of lying about putting chemicals on the concrete. Tim said his company doesn't cover cosmetic defects...only structural defects. He then tried to get me to pay him an additional $600 to fix the chipping concrete. I couldn't believe it. Tim and his workers do not care about quality or customer service. Total waste of time and money.

We've hosted countless family game nights and gatherings here, and I'm genuinely grateful for this space every single day. I don't usually write reviews, but I'm taking the time because of what happened recently -- more than four years after the project was completed. We noticed a small leak where the deck cover connects to the house, water was dripping from the soffit boards. Naturally, we were stressed about potential water damage and repairs, but when I reached out to Tim, he responded within minutes and sent his team the very next morning! They inspected the area, found a likely source, sealed it and performed the necessary repairs, then advised us to observe it again when the rain returns and call them if further repairs is needed. This experience speaks volumes about the company's integrity and dedication to their customers. Even years later, they stood behind their work without hesitation. Tim's responsiveness throughout the project was amazing, which is rare to find these days. I am a perfectionist and expect the same of Contractors. I found only a few VERY MINOR issues along the way, but Tim and his excellent crew were right on it! Many months after the project had been finished, we requested a minor repair to our siding that was NOT even part of their work. They came up yesterday and fixed it for us! They went above and beyond! Also, we had a request for a unique fold-out shelf for feeding birds (which we make sure is never available to bears!). Tim designed something that works perfectly. The moment the when the work needed inspection from the city of Kirkland, which failed quickly. They shirked responsibility and took off with the money. Instead of owning up to their mistake and working to resolve the issue and pour concrete to spec, they never responded and instead blamed us as owners and GCs. Since we trusted them and gave them the full payment in good show of faith - we are now resolved to letting the courts handle it. We are now proceeding with other contractors.

After a full electrical install in my old 1930s house, I was left with more than 60 holes (5") on…read morethree levels, and a big concern was smoothing over lath and plaster work (in addition to beaverboard and standard drywall) as well as paint matching. Got several really good contractors off Yelp to come in and have a look, and bids were all over the place with no guarantees of plaster work or timing. Then, I met Blake the owner of Sandstone construction who was straight-up honest about the work required and confident his crew could handle the job. His bid was competitive and the timing was perfect (about two days later). I decided to go with Sandstone on this big project, and can say that the experience has been great with work coming out much better than expected. As the job began, the entire crew (Corso, Rick, Issac, Matt, Melissa, Steve, and others) were sealing up patches day by day. Then filling with sanding and buffing and then painting rooms by hand or spray machine. Finally, touchups to nearly all spaces in the house. The work lasted over 14 days, and this old house was transformed into something really special. The before and after pictures tell the story better than I can. Today, I look up at my coved ceilings and admire the high-quality workmanship. Without a doubt, I highly recommend Sandstone Construction for any of your bigger projects. Blake is not only a great listener but also is a down to earth individual with high character values. I remember Blake mentioning that he "doesn't have time to be dishonest," and got to see this in action when Blake joined his crew in painting till midnight to make sure the job was done on time as promised. Never have I seen construction company do that, so really a credit to Blake and crew on keeping up the momentum and finishing the work. While the work he performed was very nice when we pointed out that the Cabinet Doors were warped and several had flaws that were visible and that he had installed a drawer crooked his demeanor changed. I also pointed out that there was No molding at the top of Cabinets like he promised, that he had not put the piece that goes to the threshold of door, and several other minor touch ups he had not finished! He texted me and gave me a time frame he was available to complete these issues, and he blocked me and wouldn't respond. I went to his House to speak to him and he wouldn't answer the door!
