Highly recommend Sky Mountain Contractors! Tim and his employees James and Dan have done truly fantastic work for me on many different occasions. This is by far my favorite contractor to work with - communicative, detail-oriented and professional. They are very reliable and reasonable with prices. They truly go the extra mile for customers and it shows. Highly recommend!

Update to Respond to Business: "we mainly do more expensive projects" says Tim. Ah well, I have a saying about that. "Best not to piss people off on the way to the top because you never know when you're going to head back to the bottom." Thanks for taking on our cheap job. Shack-dwellers like us have clean floors too, though, just an FYI. ---------------------------------------------------------- Fired on the Spot Before Work Even Began We hired Tim's team to fix a water leak from the upstairs shower pipe. We explained that we also need a bathroom remodeled and a patio deck recovered and would hire his team for that based on how this job was done. Unfortunately, due to a set of the most simplest of customer service fails, we had to cancel Tim, to his face, today, before they began the job. It was a problem of attendance, respect for our home and just general rudeness. Last Tuesday, they were a no show. Via text message Tim told us 4 of his team members were sick but hopefully they would show THE NEXT DAY, Wednesday. Wednesday we received no text, no call, nothing. He sent a message via text stating that he told us that the worker would come when he was no longer sick. Why didn't he notify us? WTF? Red Flag number one, that's what. (See images with this review) We called and said, fine, lets wait until Monday to be sure everyone is well again. Today we get a text from Tim, saying he was outside our house, at 12:23 and that he's waiting for his guy. Then it started hailing, hailing so much it looked like it had snowed. But Tim was already here and our appointment was at 12:00. At 12:50 they finally walk into our house. They did not knock, just walked in. Yep. We do not wear shoes in our home. Our floors are very clean. Because it had just hailed outside, Tim and his sidekick's boots were covered in water and mud. They did not wipe their feet, nor did they put on boot covers. They just walked right in with their muddy boots. When I asked, "Hey will you guys be putting tarps down?" Tim mumbled something and shrugged. Then they proceeded to continue to walk through the house with their filthy, wet muddy boots...upstairs, through our bedroom and back down. When my husband mentioned that they had just done that and we'd appreciate they be a bit more proactive with the mud thing, Tim said "we vacuum when we're done." No apology, no nothing. Also, Tim, vacuums don't clean mud. Even power and cable companies use boot covers and tarps. Have some respect and general common sense. They went outside to go do something and I turned to my husband and said, this feels wrong. They didn't seem to care we had to take time off from work last week or about the mud they just tracked in. They're unapologetic and don't seem to care how we feel about anything. How can we trust them to act in our best interest while they work on our beloved home? We can't. Red flag number two. Final flag. This isn't baseball. When my husband went outside to let Tim know we were canceling the work, my husband said "It just doesn't seem like you guys care." To that Tim said, flippantly, "Yep, obviously we don't care." He did not apologize, nor seemed like it mattered to him that we felt so uncomfortable with him that we asked him to leave. So we fired Tim. 10 minutes later Tim sent a text NOW apologizing for having attendance issues but also accusing us of having "extreme concern" about our floors. No Tim, we have an extreme concern about you.

We have had Sky Mountain to help us working on a covered patio project. I have my own vision of the look of the space. I shared my ideas, they immediately give me great suggestions and estimate to meet my budget as well (their quote was the most comprehensive and detailed). Timothy was knowledgeable and friendly and patient with my ideas on the look back and forth. Anytime I have a question or need a small update to something, he could quick to come out. We're so pleased with our beautiful new covered deck space! It brightens the backyard and added so much space to our outdoor living fun. The team were on time, very efficient, expert. kept the job site neat and finished in two weeks. They are amazing! I highly recommend!

After building houses, decks, and fences over the years, I decided that, in my retirement, I was going to contract with someone to replace my 25 year old deck. So I reach out to Tim -- who responds immediately with a quote ... and then, over the next few days, responds (same day) to my questions about permits, materials, and timelines. No small task. It involved replacing almost 600 square feet of untreated fir decking and adding 170 square feet around my hot tub. In addition, it required that the 24" center decking be upgraded to 12" centers. With no guarantee that the deck framing was square and plumb. Tim responds: "we've got this." Enter Matt and Dustin -- two employees at Sky Mountain who took on this job. They were amazing. Not only did they remove the old decking (in less than 2 days), they spent over a week re-framing the deck frame to ensure that it was square, plumb, and level. Their attention to detail on this part of the job exceeded my expectations. Then they began to build. OMG, where I would have cut corners, they refused. They measured at least twice -- usually 3 times -- before cutting once. Angles and miters are perfect. They threw away boards that didn't meet their expectations. They were obsessed with the quality of their work. Their work ethic and their attention to detail are second to none. As my wife (who knows nothing about construction but likes what she sees) told them: "you guys are craftsmen." Tim, Matt and Dustin are exceptional contractors and craftsmen. Don't hesitate to contact them for whatever you need. I'm in the process of planning for house painting and electric panel work too ... and these are the guys I'll be calling.

Backyard oasis created by Sky Mountain Contractors - thank you Tim & Team!

Sky Mountain Contractors has completed several projects for us over the years. Tim's vision for our landscaping and covered patio transformed our backyard from dirt and dead grass to a beautiful oasis that we enjoy all year long! The Sky Mountain team is hard working, creative and focused, they are great to work with!

He showed some good photo examples of his work, and answered my questions well. Also chose him because his pricing was in the middle. His work speed is very fast and the quality of the wood he brought was overall great high quality, not perfect, but great. After completion my neighbor and I did point out a couple things we either wanted changed or fixed. Humberto stayed a few more hours to make those changes. The fence is fantastic and Humberto did a great job at a fair price. If you have any specific design needs, it's best to have it typed out with photos in messenger, and also review in person when the work starts. My neighbor and I went through 5 different contractor bids, and it's best to review carefully if you expect something specific such as "visible concrete vs hidden concrete", "panels touching ground vs not", "pressure treated vs cedar", "distance between posts", "amount of gap between panels", etc. Humberto Mora is Highly recommended!

They were professional, highly skilled, efficient, and incredibly fast without any loss on workmanship. I had other contractors at the house and they took notice as well. However, a mishap costing us an extra $5K and communication with Luis left me feeling uncomfortable. I would not recommend him to others. I asked for 3 sides of our large backyard fence to be torn down and reconstructed. I said I wanted it to wrap around from our previous newer fenced section to our home. I asked for a walk-in gate. This was all in the LMS quote/bid. I asked Luis if we should do a walk-through before work began, and he said no, that wouldn't be necessary. This will be important later... By end of day 2, I realized they were leaving out a large portion on 2 of the sides. NO gate planned. I double-checked with Luis and he said other than the gate, which I guess was forgotten, that the 2 sections weren't apart of the bid. WHY would someone want to leave two 8-foot panels of old, withered, falling down fence between sections of new 7-foot fence? WHY would someone not complete a fence to the home, and leave a huge gap? That doesn't make sense. But, he told me it would cost an extra $5K. Unfortunately, I felt stuck since I wanted this job done, and they had already begun construction. I agreed, and now my project was costing us 1/3 more. On the 4th day, Luis called me while I was at work. He said the fence & gate were completed, and 2 of his guys would be waiting in my driveway for the FULL payment. I don't get cell service at the school I teach at, and as I'm driving home, I find out I'm responsible for racing to the bank within 20 minutes and picking up my kids from school. Impossible. Not only this, I find it unprofessional that there was no *walk-through* offered after the work was completed. He didn't want to give my husband and I a chance to look it over first? Make sure the craftsmanship was okay? I just don't agree with paying $15K for without this step. The next day, he was working another job far away so he couldn't collect from me. I offered to pay him the following day. Immediately Luis' texts became short, rude and made me uncomfortable. He claimed he couldn't pay "his guys" because of me. I even offered to pay him on the weekend, but he said he was out of town. He said, quote, "You have my money, but it is what it is." I'm sorry, the way you conduct your business has absolutely nothing to do with one client... the work literally JUST GOT DONE!! Banks are only open certain hours, and I have a full time job myself. He was paid the exact week that the work was completed, but after several tense text conversations. He would not text for 2 days and then demand to come by the next morning. "I will come by in the morning." No friendly greeting or even a question if that's ok with me. What?? One of his guys broke one of our in-ground irrigation sprinkler pipes, and when I told him my husband noticed this, I got no response until days later. I asked again, and he said it was all fixed. If I hadn't have said anything.. would he have told me?? For the additional $5K, we agreed to pay the following month. Luis sent me multiple Venmo requests. I tried several times to pay him via Venmo, but Venmo flagged it as "unsafe" and would not let it go through. Somehow, again, this was my fault, and I had to receive several curt texts. I asked him where I could send a check, and his response was "The address is on the bid". Just not .. kind. I always tried to be friendly and open. After our check was sent and cashed, we got no receipt and no "thank you for your business" email or text. Check sent, nothing. Lastly, he avoided questions about their warranty. On their website it says 2 years; on the contract, it states that the warranty goes by the materials - which I have no idea about. I asked several times, no answer. To this day, I have no idea if they'll fix something within a year or even 6 months. All in all, I'm left feeling unsatisfied about our business exchange. While the work seems quality, Luis' demeanor and the fact that we had to pay such a large extra cost for something I asked for in the bidding process leaves much to be desired. I hope this review will help someone.
