As this is a cage free boarding facility , Farmer Paul has to be a bit selective on the dogs he keeps .

And it's impossible to reach them by phone (besides leaving a message and getting a call back in a few days... which isn't reasuring when I'm calling to check how much longer the grooming will take). But they usually did what I requested, and I was happy with the result. But the last time I brought in my dog, my dog was very badly injured when I picked her up. They hurt her leg somehow - I'm going to guess they forcefully held her paw for nail cutting, instead of acknowledging her protests. (She's a vocal breed, so unfortunately some groomers are inclined to ignore her vocal cues.) My dog couldn't stop whimpering in pain for 2 months. Even in her sleep, she would wake up whimpering from the pain (for about a month). I took her to the vet right away, thinking maybe her leg was broken. The vet said nothing was broken or dislocated, thankfully. But her whimpering in pain broke my heart. What also bothers me is that when I dropped her off, I told the person she has sensitivity in her front paws so to please be gentle. Obviously that was ignored. One factor (I have to assume) is that the person I dropped my dog off with is not the same person who was there when I picked up my dog. So I wonder if what I said even got communicated to whoever was grooming her or cutting her nails. I called Wizard of Paws, and they denied knowing what I was talking about (that my dog had been injured, was whimpering in pain, etc) - said they had no idea how it may have happened, and that it surely wasn't because of them. Overall, it was mostly fine getting my dog groomed here... until it wasn't.

Man, I'll be honest with you…read more. This place I felt, for a time, was heaven sent. And then I came in to pick my dogs up early and the rocket doctor that was in the back didn't know that the dog she was telling to shut the f**k up was my dogs. (Oh I straight up girl you, you toad) She repeatedly told them to shut up with all the expletives. I get it . Shaving dog assholes and balls all day must be "exhausting". But if you're in that job and you don't wanna do that şhiît then you don't belong in animal care. When we give you our animals, we are giving you an extreme amount of trust and this place is now tainted in my mind. However, I have a little choice, but to go elsewhere. I will continue to take my animals here out of necessity, but know that I know .

We were dealing with an emergency situation with our 18-year-old fur baby, and they went above and beyond to help make sure we could get in when we needed it most. Everyone we encountered was kind, professional, and compassionate during such a difficult time. A special thank you to Dr. Blair (I hope I'm spelling the name correctly), who delivered the inevitable bad news with such care and understanding. As heartbreaking as the situation was, Dr. Blair gave us the facts we needed in a way that was honest, gentle, and not overwhelming. That compassion made an incredibly painful moment a little easier to process. I hope you get to see her when you have to visit the hospital...Otherwise I hope you never have to take your pet to any hospital. We are so grateful for the support, empathy, and dignity they showed both our pet and our family. Thank you Dr. Blair for helping us move forward with love and clarity during one of the harder moments we will face. Last note : Arrive early for any walk ins. We arrived at 730 and were the last to be seen.Luckily we arrived as the last walk in this day..

Dr. Takata shared her findings from lab work and ultrasound which showed our dog was not clotting, had a dangerously low blood count, and an opaque bladder ultrasound. Possible cancer. We made the difficult decision to stop treatment and say goodbye to our girl. They were caring throughout the process. I imagine it is difficult for the staff as well as us. Thank you Dr. Takata and the staff at VCA.
