The food is good for a small town American diner. There's a cook that comes out to help the front of house staff and he does a jam up job, very nice, great service and pretty funny. The wait staff is good except for one person. I don't know her name but she's heavy set and usually has a red face with acne and is in a terrible mood. We're surprised she's worked there this long. If I owned the place I would fire her, she has no manners, no sense of urgency, no sense of humor and is generally unpleasant. She must work for fun because I'm sure she doesn't make much in tips. If we know she's working we avoid the place and drive to Bismarck to eat breakfast. What a bummer can't even go into the only breakfast joint in town because such a miserable person ruins the whole restaurant. Another postive about this place is the older gal with a few tattoos on her arms, what a gem. This woman doesn't seem like she would be friendly but she's the best, sweetest, attentive waitress they have. We really enjoy having her help us out, we really enjoy the restaurant and it's a bummer because quite a few people around town say the same thing about the one bad apple. read more

Really wish the ladies were more warm and welcoming. We feel awkward coming in sometimes like we are bothering them even calling in To Go orders is the same. Really went out of the comfort zone today. We tried a very local item - Fleischkuekle which is ground beef and pork that is seasoned and wrapped in a pastry crust and deep fried. Very German and tasty! The only diner in town, clean and a local hang out. Let's talk service. Our waitress was somewhat attentive, but had no real enthusiasm for being there, it was the bare minimum. The food was reasonably priced, but pop at 3.00 a glass with no refill offered is just too much. I definitely would go back, but I am having water. read more

Driving through around lunch and stopped in one of the few non fast food establishments. More extensive menu then I anticipated. Salad bar looked good but I opted for a simple sandwich and fries. We were too hungry for pictures! Great small town prices just like I had hoped for. read more

Right as I walked in. I Saw a group of elderly gentlemen out for coffee and breakfast. Really enjoyed listening to them talk. Restaurant is clean and inviting. However that's where the positives end. The waitress was more interested in her morning paper then the customers. She wasn't very friendly and seemed like we were a bother. My hash browns with green peppers, onions, ham, and cheese tasted like rancid oil. The cheese was a small partially melted blob half off the hash browns. read more

We were excited to go to a small town restaurant. Just sat there waiting for 20 minutes for service. Only 4 tables with customers at them. Went up to ask a waitress about menu. Not one of the 3 acknowledged me. People 2 tables over came in after us. Waitress walks away from me with 2 menus. I assumed she was going to our table nope!! She goes to there table. Comes back for their order and still no service! So we walked out! People should walk away happier when they leave a restaurant not HANGRY!!!! read more

Not impressed. The servers were preoccupied with.....something other than being servers. The chicken fried steak was poor quality and got French fries with the meal instead of the American fries I ordered. I'm not a regular visitor. Took our drink order 3 times before we got a drink. Then took our orders. Minutes later was asked if we ordered soup as we looked like we were waiting for something. Later was asked if we both ordered burger. Told her no and gave order again. When we finally got food, it was cold and she asked if this plate was ok cause she had given our food to wrong person . Never once got asked if things were ok or if we needed drink refills. Before our meals came, a couple in the next booth even asked the manager what was going on because they came in after we did and they were finished eating and we still didnt have our food. Drove an hour with wife and kids at 7p Friday. Wife & I split prime rib, two kids split Alfredo, others had kids meals, all had salads. Very reasonably priced (so left a generous tip), and DELICIOUS. Servers were so friendly, as were other customers. The coffee is great! read more
