One night, they decided…read moreto take us here for steak night and to experience some of the local ambience, and we were so happy they did!!! Talk about a quintessential mom and pop bar that serves great, non-pretentious food. There were three choices of steak, and a few potato side dishes to choose from. No frills, all thrills. The steak was labeled as 12 ounces, but I'm not sure what their benchmark was. It was a heaping side of cow, easily 20-24 ounces. They treated the meat well, like royalty, and did their damnedest to NOT screw up quality ingredients. I ordered my steak medium rare, and exactly like so, it appeared before me like a magicians trick. A beautiful, meaty, delicious magicians trick. LoL. There was a fantastic hard sear on the outside, and inside, a gorgeous pink medium rare that just melted in your mouth. The owner was in the kitchen visible from our table, and didn't break a sweat cranking out plate after plate of tasty cow. I'd put this steak up against the best steakhouses I've been to around the world. Who knew you could get this at a joint like Harbor Bar and Grill, for a mere $25? We'll be visiting our friends again, and when we do, we will get our cow on at Harbor B&G.

The place is about what you might expect in a tiny town--a bit dark, a bit old, and a bit run down, but overall it was clean and comfortable enough. There's a pool table and a few game machines, too. The food was worth the rate and the price! Terrific steak--weighed just under a pound. Perfect baked potato. Basic salad. Beer was ICY cold and delicious.
