Following the tearing of our shower door vinyl sweep, the quest for a replacement took us to Home Depot and Lowe's which proved unsuccessful, as no suitable vinyl sweep was to be found. It seemed relatively simple, as our existing sweep wasn't tailored for a shower door. After watching numerous YouTube tutorials, we decided to replace the entire rail. However, our subsequent visits to Home Depot and Lowe's revealed that the rail was typically sold with the custom shower door, not separately. Turning to YouTube once more, we discovered that an online glass company could provide a replacement rail. Yelp led us to the many positive reviews for Country Glass who has a showroom in Hudson. I called and spoke with Becky who listened our issue and invited me meet with one of her technicians. While at the showroom waiting to meet the technician, I noticed a display showcasing replacing glass with broken seals vs. the entire windows, prompting me to inquire about obtaining a quote. The showroom also displayed doors, glass, screen and storm doors. I left my contact information to schedule a day for a quote for new front door and replacement glass. I was introduced to Sean, who listened to the issue with our rail, viewing my photos and discussing how we should install this new rail. Sean cut the new rail slightly larger than necessary, given our lack of precise measurements. Additionally, he suggested using silicone for the end cap, a practical solution. Meanwhile, my husband's attempt to reattach the rail using some sort of waterproof glue proved futile. I unexpectedly ran into Sean at our local grocery store where he generously offered his assistance. Despite the mishap with saving his number, my husband managed to secure the rail using waterproof silicone. Although the shower no longer leaked, the vinyl sweep remained a persistent issue, shifting with each door movement. This required me to adjust the vinyl sweep every few days. On March 26, Tim arrived to provide the quote. Tim shared he was the previous owner who sold the business and is now an employee. He spoke so highly of the employees and how much he enjoyed working with customers. Tim was very personable. I shared my assumption of needing a new front door due to the cold air that could be felt in entry way. Tim explained this was attributed to the architecture of our entryway where the heat rises rather than any fault with the door itself. His honesty was commendable as he could have sold us a door that was not needed. Upon examining the windows with failed seals, Tim showed me where each warranty sticker was located. He explained the warranty claim process and offered to come back to install once we received the replacement windows. I appreciated his genuineness. I did ask him to take a peek at our shower door. He said he would happily look at it. He said he knew was was needed and went to his car to get some tools. He trimmed the excess vinyl, securing it with screws on both ends, and fitted a new end cap. WOW!!! What amazing customer service and I only purchased a rail from them :). I want to thank Becky, Sean and Tim for being amazing and going above and beyond when we didn't make a major purchase. Country Glass is a truly special resource! We installed 46 Harvey windows in a rental property 20+ years ago. When Harvey stopped servicing their windows, they suggested I call Country Glass. They were out 5 or 6 years ago to address issues with a couple of windows. I recently discovered issues with a few more windows and was so glad I kept their contact information. The service I received from Country Glass was phenomenal from start to finish. The office staff that took the call, requested pictures of the problem hinges so they could schedule the right technician and scheduled the visit could not have been more gracious or helpful. Tim Doherty came out to fix the windows and took the time to show me - the correct way to tilt the windows for cleaning so they last as long as possible - the best lubricant to use to keep them working smoothly avoid attracting dirt - how to reposition the track covers so I could do that whenever it's needed. The service was exceptional and everyone I dealt with was wonderful. Who knew companies like this still existed!!!! Almost makes me wish for more window problems! read more

They have a beautiful showroom. The staff was very helpful and set up a time for a measurement. Tim was very helpful and personable. The install went very smooth and I cant say enough about the quality of the slider and the professional install. Skip Home Depot and Lowes, spend the extra few bucks with something thats going to last and have it installed right. The installer recommened eduroshield for water spots and its amazing. I went to Country glass based on the reviews they had on yelp even though they do not specifically focus on auto glass. I have a rare car and would not trust it with just anyone but felt comfortable going to them based on the reviews they had and my first impression on the phone with them. They took care of everything and I only needed to provide my information and insurance case number. It took three weeks for the dealership to get my windshield shipped in and country glass kept me up-to-date each week on the shipping status. Once the parts arrived they quickly scheduled a service date which happened to be the day before Thanksgiving, which I greatly appreciated because I needed it that weekend. They ran into a slight issue while replacing the windshield when they found that the dealership had forgotten one part, however they went the extra mile to have someone drive the part over to their shop so they could finish it that day. They did a fantastic job with the windshield, you cannot tell that the windshield has been replaced after factory installation. They also took care to make sure that they didn't leave any scratches on the paint anywhere around the windshield. They used their experience, skill and creativity to come up with a solution that fixed the sliding door. I went in to get a custom table top cut. Women was friendly, but you could tell she had Window/glass knowledge but that she was not going to share with you. I did some research both the visit and asked a question She said I could get HD glass if I asked for it. ie she was not going to suggest or offer it. I asked for 3/8 cut glass she said that would have to be ordered. I have already spent a ton on the base so ordering a custom glass was not a big deal for me, but for her it was. At the end she said she would get back to me for a price quote. After a week of waiting and not hearing from her I went to Wayside Glass in Marlborough. Outstanding customer service in every respect. Starting with initial call for an estimate visit to replace cracked mirrors in our master bathroom. Even though not major project, they were responsive, very professional and reasonably priced. Because of several personal delays on our part for installation including the COVID, we postponed the final results for many months. Country Glass was patient and scheduled when we were ready. The installation was perfect and safely done, including extra work for caulking areas around the mirrors. We are very pleased with the work Country Glass did for our oddly shaped stall shower. The front roof slant makes the bathroom very misshapen, and we were sort of getting by with a curtain rod and curtain which only covered half the shower. Well, I had a little bit of trouble connecting and getting someone to come out (because I live 45 minutes away) for 2 tricky showers but my contractor swore by them so I was persistent. Tim came out and blew me away with his expert knowledge, insights and recommendations. I had 3 other companies come out and every one of those guys made me feel like they really didn't know what they were doing. Tim's recommendations were right on and even figured out a nifty trick to "fix" the issue of lopsided sides in our attic ceiling. Country Glass replaced double pane glass in a foggy picture window and two Harvey double hung vinyl windows. Service was excellent and met a tight deadline for selling our house. I wish we had replaced the window glass two years before so I could have enjoyed the view through it longer. My house is in Lexington, MA 24 miles away with drive time of 45 minutes. Initially, I was skeptical of the manufacture's recommendation of Country Glass for a replacement of fogged and broken windows because of the distance. However, the vinyl picture window was installed in the 1980s and production dimensions were not available. Like a previous reviewer said Tim is one of the top 3 contractors who we have worked with in the 34 years we have lived in the house. First and foremost Mike and Nick my installers were great. My problem was that when they came out to assess the work I needed done (3 single pane windows replaced in the old true divided lite sashes and 1 window crank handle for a casement window ordered), there was three feet of snow on ground so the windows would need to be replaced from the inside which made the job more difficult which was reflected in the estimate ($320). Well needless to say with the weather melting most of the snow around these windows they were able to complete job from the outside with no ladders or obstructions. Job took 50 minutes total. I called to ask if due to the lack of weather constraints something could be done about lowering my final price, which had already been deducted from my account by 8 am even tho I was told that my card would not be charged until after job was done. I was told that the price is what it is and nothing would be changed. 320 dollars for 50 minutes work and 35 dollars in supplies. Needless to say I'll never use them again and anyone who asks of them will hear this story. read more
