Receiving an email with no explanation after 4 weeks is not being notified properly, in my humble opinion. 2. I chose to have the windows open on a specific side. When they arrived one window was not as promised. I capitulated only because I did not want to wait another 12 or more weeks! If I am told by someone that my purchase will be done a certain way this is a promise. Must every detail be in writing? A company's word should be it's promise. If I were spending $2000 dollars the mistake would be one thing, but I paid over $5000 for 2 windows.

Do Not Use - Poor Installation, Zero Accountability, and False Promises…read moreI am writing this review to warn others about our experience with Renewal by Andersen. We paid a premium price for a bay window, but the level of service and quality we received was unacceptable. During the sales process, we were explicitly told by our sales representative that she would be with us through every step of the process, including the day of installation. Once we signed the papers and the check was cashed, we never heard from her again. We were also misled regarding the company's structure, as their claims of being a "family-owned" business did not align with our experience. The installation itself was unprofessional. Within just three months, we began experiencing issues with the window. It is clear to any objective observer that the seal is damaged and the unit was not installed properly. For over a year, we have been getting the runaround. Every time we call, we are shuffled between different departments, none of which take responsibility for fixing the issue. On the rare occasion they have sent someone to the house, they simply cleaned the glass with Windex and left--completely ignoring the structural defect we reported. They do not stand by their "guarantee," and their customer service is designed to avoid fixing the problems they created. Do yourself a favor and hire a reputable company that actually stands behind their work. Beware of this company--stay away.

GI did not do any work for us; they simply came to give us an estimate for window replacement. This…read morereview is based just on this meeting. Our impression of them was extremely bad. The guy talked like a borderline fraud. He spent 95% of the time trashing other companies instead of explaining the upsides of their product. I don't think that they are complete frauds; they offer legitimate services. However, their sales tactics are akin to tactics used by used car salesmen. Being a DIY guy, I could clearly sense that he knew way less about window installation than I did. The guy spent an hour in our house, which is an abuse, and then told us to wait and discuss while "he steps outside to talk to his manager". Presumably, "to get a permission to give us an awesome deal if we sign right away". At that point we told him the meeting was over. He told us the prices he had quoted were good for a year but he did not actually leave us any written quote. :) This whole experience was a mix of bad and hilarious. Their prices are roughly 80-100% above the market. Again, their products seem to be top quality. It is not at all clear who they use for installation. The company has a video of a company boat cruise on Charles River, and they don't have any construction people there, just a whole bunch of sales people. Again, it is pretty clear what their business strategy is. If you have a spine and patience, you can invite them over to get an upper bound on the price. But definitely shop around afterwards.

**ATTENTION ALL HOMEOWNERS LOOKING TO HIRE, RECRUITS SEEKING EMPLOYMENT, AND CURRENT EMPLOYEES**…read moreGreenline Innovations, LLC. currently owes more than $60,000 in wage theft damages to myself and Christopher Garner. I am continually harassed by phone calls from creditors regarding delinquent vehicle loans that are over 100 days past due. Greenline Innovations refuses to answer their calls, and never even bothered to show up to court. I can tell you personally from working inside this company that I would not recommend it. It is certainly not my preference to deal with things in this manner, however I feel people have a right to know with whom they are getting involved. I will update the review to make sure it is accurate moving forward when these issues are resolved. We would highly recommend Lambert & Sons Construction of Marlborough. We hired Christian and his…read moreteam to replace our front door and the VERY LARGE, heavy palladium window above it. For a reasonable price, we were able to get a higher quality window and door (w/sidelights) than the originals. They replaced rotted wood they discovered, and even had to contend with a huge carpenter ant colony that had settled in there! Everything was re-insulated and, to save us some money, Christian had his men carefully remove all the existing interior moldings to re-use them wherever possible. His attention to detail was very evident in the new exterior door surround he created by hand to match the window moldings. Our painter said that he's rarely seen such excellent finish carpentry. Christian's crew is very friendly and respectful and meticulous in their clean-up of the job site. If we ever need work done in the future, our one call will be to Lambert & Sons.

The first project we had Lambert and Sons do for us was our windows. For the same price as one of…read morethe "window replacement" companies, we were able to get higher quality windows that weren't just popped into place, but installed the same way a builder would. Not only was all of our shoddy construction corrected, but everything was re-insulated and Christian installed beautiful new mouldings that changed the entire look of our house. It was so nice to not have to call in different people for all of the construction problems uncovered while doing our windows. Christian was able to handle it all (or call in excellent sub contractors to handle things like electrical work). We loved Christian and his crew so much that we have had them come back to do our roof, laundry room, repair and redesign our front door, gutter removal and regrading. We will have them remodel our basement and kitchen in the near future. Christian has an eye for detail and the knowledge to do things right. Not only does Christian have these skills, but so does his crew. Everyone involved in our projects was wonderful to work with. Everything was completely cleaned up at the end of the day (something I noticed another roofer in the nieghborhood didn't do) and the crew even scoured the neighbors' yards to make sure nothing blew onto their properties. I felt completely confident leaving the crew in my home if I had to run out for awhile and they were also very pleasant to have around while I was in the house. I sometimes hesitate when a friend asks for a recommendation, but not with this company. I have recommended Lambert and Sons to quite a few people, and everyone has thanked me for the wonderful "find". Half my neighborhood has now used Lambert and Sons based on the work they've seen done on my house. I was prompted to write the review after my neighbor struck up a conversation with me yesterday about how he watched all the work being done on my home. This is the pickiest guy in the world. He is an engineer who does all his own work on his house and has an incredible eye for detail. He let me know that Christian did the work on my house exactly like he would do it on his own and that he was an "A+ professional". He even called him an "artist", and this is a guy who never says ANYTHING nice. My painter (another obsessively picky individual) also commented about the high quality of Chris Lambert's work and how easy he was to work with (as we had them doing simultaneous projects). Update 4/21/13 - We have now had Christian finish our basement. and are as happy as ever. Neighbors that used other contractors are impressed with how Chris designed and finished the space (he even designed and built the entertainment unit), and are shocked at how quickly and smoothly the project was completed. We have also recommended him to 2 more people that were both very happy with their projects.

Following the tearing of our shower door vinyl sweep, the quest for a replacement took us to Home…read moreDepot and Lowe's which proved unsuccessful, as no suitable vinyl sweep was to be found. It seemed relatively simple, as our existing sweep wasn't tailored for a shower door. After watching numerous YouTube tutorials, we decided to replace the entire rail. However, our subsequent visits to Home Depot and Lowe's revealed that the rail was typically sold with the custom shower door, not separately. Turning to YouTube once more, we discovered that an online glass company could provide a replacement rail. Yelp led us to the many positive reviews for Country Glass who has a showroom in Hudson. I called and spoke with Becky who listened our issue and invited me meet with one of her technicians. While at the showroom waiting to meet the technician, I noticed a display showcasing replacing glass with broken seals vs. the entire windows, prompting me to inquire about obtaining a quote. The showroom also displayed doors, glass, screen and storm doors. I left my contact information to schedule a day for a quote for new front door and replacement glass. I was introduced to Sean, who listened to the issue with our rail, viewing my photos and discussing how we should install this new rail. Sean cut the new rail slightly larger than necessary, given our lack of precise measurements. Additionally, he suggested using silicone for the end cap, a practical solution. Meanwhile, my husband's attempt to reattach the rail using some sort of waterproof glue proved futile. I unexpectedly ran into Sean at our local grocery store where he generously offered his assistance. Despite the mishap with saving his number, my husband managed to secure the rail using waterproof silicone. Although the shower no longer leaked, the vinyl sweep remained a persistent issue, shifting with each door movement. This required me to adjust the vinyl sweep every few days. On March 26, Tim arrived to provide the quote. Tim shared he was the previous owner who sold the business and is now an employee. He spoke so highly of the employees and how much he enjoyed working with customers. Tim was very personable. I shared my assumption of needing a new front door due to the cold air that could be felt in entry way. Tim explained this was attributed to the architecture of our entryway where the heat rises rather than any fault with the door itself. His honesty was commendable as he could have sold us a door that was not needed. Upon examining the windows with failed seals, Tim showed me where each warranty sticker was located. He explained the warranty claim process and offered to come back to install once we received the replacement windows. I appreciated his genuineness. I did ask him to take a peek at our shower door. He said he would happily look at it. He said he knew was was needed and went to his car to get some tools. He trimmed the excess vinyl, securing it with screws on both ends, and fitted a new end cap. WOW!!! What amazing customer service and I only purchased a rail from them :). I want to thank Becky, Sean and Tim for being amazing and going above and beyond when we didn't make a major purchase. You have a customer for life. I would and will highly recommend Country Glass to all my friends and family.
