I have not yet eaten at this establishment and have visited several times for a quick pick up of Bionico's. This past time, I ordered a small batch of fries that I will gladly pass on in the future. Place inside does not look as inviting, maybe a revamp of the menu, lighting, counter would help to draw in customers. However, even if I did not try the food, II will state that the Bionico's are super delicious. I have not found many places in the SouthBay that sell this. I am glad I found this spot and will continue to support it given the taste has been consistent. Maybe some day I will work up the courage to try the food. read more

Came here for lunch The place has a nostalgic diner setting and was pretty clean inside. I ordered the pastrami burger which was a mistake. The pastrami was very low grade, thick and chewy. The rest of the burger was decent but nothing impressive. Buns tasted like something from the grocery store and the patty had a nice char to it but was not very big or high quality. What a hidden Gem. I had to come to the city for a job and this was on the corner and I told my team let's try it... I grew up around small burger stands like this and it did not disappoint. The gentleman at the counter that took my order was very nice and friendly. I ordered a grilled chicken and avocado salad and small fries. The order came out quick. The salad was mostly white lettuce, the chicken was not fresh meat or grilled, something pressed with the grill marks already on it out the bag or freezer probably, and the avocados brown. For the fries, some were cooked crispy v she others soft almost undone. I have no idea how they have an A on the window. While there an older man walked in, spoke to the cashier and went back in the kitchen to talk to the cook, rested his hands on the prep station where the guy was making food and then went back out to the front to talk to someone in the booth in the corner. Could have been the owner, don't care, it was insanitary. The place is dark and very old furniture and tables. The pictures on the wall are just stock photos and not an accurate representation of the food you will get. ASK FOR A RECEIPT. CHECK IT. I used to come here regularly for quick take-out -- about 4-6 times a month. I typically just paid with my card and left without checking the receipt. On my last visit, I was grossly overcharged: $18 for a cheeseburger and a hamburger. I didn't notice until I was halfway home, so I turned around and went back to the store. The main guy there was genuinely apologetic and gave me a cash refund, which I appreciated. However, the employee who took my order and overcharged me just stood there silently, smirking a little -- no apology, no explanation. I don't usually write reviews but this place is too good not to do so. I've been coming here since I was in high school across the street and 4 years later I still go very often. The burgers are honestly the best I've ever had. I like to order the bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and every time it is absolutely delicious and enjoyable. Not only that , the workers are extremely nice to me and that includes every worker so far. Not only that but the restroom is always spotless and the restaurant always seems clean and in order. I like to place my order on the phone so when I arrive it's always ready to go. I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant and I hope this review will give you insight of my experience. Quality Wilted lettuce + a lot of core pieces in my burger , Big Mac type of patties with oversized bread to give a false sense of size, you can tell the tomato has been sitting in a container for a while it had that weird soft texture, Cleanliness There were flies in the place, the kitchen looked like a mess! Very poor conditions, floors look like they haven't properly moped in months! A few tables were unoccupied and were not cleaned after guests had left, they just took a napkin and "dusted" them. Man oh man. I had taken a break from reviewing, and my first crack back into the flow is, uhm... Interesting. I've ordered from Cougar's before, and I do like their burgers and fries. I've never ventured into anything else on their menu, but a few days ago, I was craving breakfast and decided to stop in for an omelette. I ordered their steak (carne asada) omelette to go, waited a bit, got my order and went home. I should've checked it before leaving the restaurant. These dudes threw 2 slices of KRAFT SANDWICH CHEESE ON TOP OF THE OMELETTE LIKE IT'S A DAMN GARNISH. When I opened the box at home, I didn't even know what to say! I was able to pick off the cheese slices, and still ate the omelette (which wasn't bad!) And the hash browns included in the meal. Man, I still don't know what to say! I have to say that what I tried from cougar burger was by far the most TERRIBLE thing I have ever had and the price of the item didn't make it any better! So I stopped here (because I see them on my route everyday) and decided to get a quick bite to eat. I just wanted chili cheese fries. That's it. Simple right. Service was great, food was terrible. I'm thinking these are gonna be some pretty good chili cheese fries for $8, but boy was I mistaken. Chili? Terrible. Cheese? Terrible. Fries? Terrible. If I could give it no stars I would because I didn't even finish them. That experience turned me off from potentially trying them in the future. Maybe they have some good things there, I won't know. This review is strictly for the bionico. If you're not familiar with that dish, it's basically fruit covered in sweet cream, condensed milk, coconut shavings, and raisins. It was my first time trying bionico. While it was delicious, I can't tell if this was a solid version or not but it tasted good. I'm Asian! Don't count my word for it. My boyfriend was saying the that it would taste even better if the cream was colder and if it had more coconut shavings. What an odd thing to do be eating at a burger joint! This place is like a Hispanic burger diner that serves relatively cheap burger, sandwich, and breakfast options. The pics of the food look rather plain so I can't imagine the food blowing my mind or anything. It seems like a good place to get cheap food on the go.
