My friend brought me here and I was pleasantly surprised. It is a decently smaller restaurant, but dimly lit and very pretty. They have both indoor and outdoor patio seating. We had a reservation, were sat right away, and our server was fantastic and attentive. I went with the gnocchi, and it was sooooo good! I normally don't go for gnocchi but had a change of heart since the one on their menu sounded good. No cocktails for the night, but my friends and I shared a sundae for dessert. so sad to leave a bad review here. we dined at Coucou on a Saturday night. It took 20 mins for a server to come to the table and almost an hour before our appetizers were served. The food was underwhelming and the service incredibly slow. The restaurant ambience is lively and a good vibe but not a great french bistro, if that's what you're looking for. I wasn't able to get a second glass of wine because they ran out of clean glasses. Coucou is a "no tipping establishment" but requires a 20% surcharge. Call me crazy but that is just a mandatory tip. If it were a true non tipping establishment they would just build that fee into the cost of the food... like Danny Meyer restaurants used to do in NY. Also the final bill does provide a line for a tip... All in all a disappointing experience read more

The steak frites had absolutely no flavor and I found myself needing salt. The service was very slow. The owner removed my real review because she didn't like it. I used to be a regular as I loved their ambience. My friends would drop in for some wine and fried olives and my favorite, the steak tartar. The last few times we've been in, the servers couldn't answer our specific questions about wine. Mind you, my friends and I are servers too so we did expect more. This is fine but for the price I'd expect your servers to know more. Additionally, I don't support a business model that adds a mandatory service fee instead of giving servers the tips they earned. Hopefully that was detailed enough for you, and judging from your other recent negative reviews Im confused as to why you'd delete mine. Coucou was top of my list for a dinner spot in LA for the last few months as I love French cuisine and heard through social media about this place. Me and my friend had a casual dinner here on a Monday. It was decently crowded and lively, the food was decent, however the service was not the best as our server took a long time to even approach us, provide us with our bill and seemed inattentive overall during our whole meal. Including a 20% gratuity apparently leads to your water never getting replenished, order forgotten, and you being treated like your existence is a burden. Came here last night for dinner and loved it! We loved the ambiance of the restaurant. It had super cute decor and a nice patio for when it gets a little warmer. Our server was also helpful at recommending some of her favorite dishes. We had: -fried olives - delicious! -zucchini beignets - good but not my favorite -tuna tartare - also good but not my favorite -onion soup - delicious - definitely recommend For my main I got the gnocchi with asparagus which was so good- the perfect mix of flavors and textures. As far as drinks, I started with the mezcal cocktail on the menu, it was ok but wasn't my favorite. For the next drink I went with the bourbon cocktail which I loved! The space is nice and the food was decent but the addition of a 20% fee for service was not called out by the sever and I feel was devious. I get it's listed on sites and reservation platforms but this establishment is well aware they are misleading by not informing active diners and banking additional tips that were not merited. They also should never accept an additional tip of 20% without further clarifying their policy. In the end this is bad business and people shouldn't go to experience what would have otherwise been a decent engagement. Shameful practice. If the restaurant responds saying "you are never expected to tip" on this platform why aren't they doing so during service. read more

Bartender was nice, drink was good- person next to me complained when the got the bill, and I seconded that emotion. They charged a 6 dollar surcharge for a martini, and a service charge (which is fine in these parts, but let you know before hand). None of this was listed on the menu. They hung the nice bartender out to dry to give the bad news. This is a place that caters to one timers. The manager was rude enough to overhear my conversation with my wife when she said "this must happen all the time" to say "no this is the 1st time" which if you read the reviews it was as absolutely not. Sad. Don't go here, or go here and expect to be treated like a nothing. read more

Coucou in Weho was a fantastic experience. The ambiance was cozy and romantic. I ordered the french onion soup (great presentation), steak frites, and the soft serve. I enjoyed all of the dishes, especially the steak. It was cooked perfectly to medium rare, and I enjoyed the caramelized onions sprinkled on top. Also, don't skip the soft serve for dessert! It's fun pouring the melted chocolate over the top as well as including the other yummy toppings. The staff was very attentive and friendly as well. Definitely will be back! read more

My group had an amazing time at CouCou for a holiday dinner celebration. We got there early and got drinks at the cute bar inside and the bartender was killing it and was clearly making drinks with such precision. We sat at one of the booths and ordered a ton of appetizers and entrees for the table. Highly recommend the zucchini beignets, tuna tartare, lobster pasta, steak au poivre, burger, and of course the soft serve ice cream sundaes. Will be back! read more

Extremely underwhelming experience here this evening. My friend arrived at 635 and I got there at 642. We wanted water and couldn't get someone to come to our table till 657. I asked for the manager to let her know no one approached us for over 20 minutes. She apologized once not particularly sincerely and asked if she could get us some drinks. We ordered drinks and entrees. The food came slowly but we had drinks so it didn't matter at that point. The food was fine, nothing was terrible, just not that tasty or special. The dessert was delicious. The check came. Automatic 20% gratuity and they didn't take care of the drinks which I thought she was offering when she initially said sorry. They truly do not care about the guest experience. If you know anything about providing good service they had an opportunity to turn this around so easily, but chose not to. Check was 200 for 2 people. I would spend my money elsewhere in the future when they care a bit about the guest or their experience. Will not go back, and I'm guessing based on the service and food, they probably won't be around that much longer. read more

Tip is already included to the bill but due to that service is great and everyone act as one team to take care every customer is a great achievement compare to many other West Hollywood restaurant like Botega Louie only sells the vibe and not a great food or service with server provide only but attitude and not trained host to welcome customer.
