I'm not surprised this location has low ratings. I love Cotton Patch and was very excited when this opened. First time we went in the middle of the week there was a very long wait so we left. They were pretty new so didn't fault them. Second time, we went for lunch around TWO PM and waited a while (not terribly long) to get seated. It. Took. Forever. To get food. Our waiter actually told us it was going to be Christmas or maybe New Year before our lunch came out. I asked what was going on and he blamed it on them being new. They weren't new that time. We still decided to give them one more chance on a Sunday at 11 AM. Luckily we beat the crowd but still had to wait at the hostess stand and listen to the manager scold the hostess for seating too many tables in one section. In front of a line of people. Unprofessional and not a good tone to set when we've already had a bad experience. Luckily our food service was quicker that time but I don't doubt it's because we were early. I really hope they get better. The area needs good restaurants. read more

Thankful for another seated, service restaurant in Wylie! In four visits, service has been attentive and accommodating, and once, a bit over-familiar. (I appreciate a genuine chat but this was a bored server impeding table conversation.) We tend to visit at off-peak times, but our food has always been hot and fresh. Tried this restaurant for the 2nd time tonight. The service was extremely slow. Sat at the table for at least 20 minutes before the waitress even stopped by our table. We decided to place our food order (that included an appetizer) with our drink order to avoid excessive delay getting our food. It did not help. We waited at least another 10 minutes to get our drinks. Our waitress then walked by our table numerous times during the next 20 minutes but never brought our appetizer or refilled our drinks. The next time she stopped at our table was to tell me that they had run out of the meatloaf I had ordered. I ordered something else and told her to cancel our appetizer order since we had not yet received it. When she finally brought out our food order, she said the kitchen had lost our initial appetizer order but we could get a free dessert for the inconvenience. We ordered a dessert to go but were charged for it when the bill came. I can't remember when I've had service this bad anywhere. We have a Cotton Patch in Wylie now and I was looking forward to eating here. I had heard that the food here was very good and the staff was friendly. So I went for lunch with 6 coworkers. It was very busy so we had to wait for around a half hour to be seated. I ordered chicken and dumplings, garlic mashed potatoes, and corn. They dumplings were there but they forgot the chicken. There was maybe 2 grams of chicken. Maybe. A serving of corn was around two table spoons. And the garlic mashed potatoes was around 1 cup and we're very tasty. If it wasn't for the bread I would have left hungry. The waitress was slow and I understand she was busy but I still wanted to tip her 20%. So my lunch special came to $8.65 after tax. I had a 10 and a 5. So I gave her the 10 and the five thinking she would bring me back 6 ones. She brought back a 5 and a 1. So how was I going to give her a $3 tip. So I gave her a dollar tip. Anyway I don't recommend Cotton Patch Wylie. I gave it 2 stars because the potatoes were good. read more

Wow I am here on a Thursday night and the service is soooo slow. Food is just ok if not board line bad.

If you know me, you know I am quite picky, so this restaurant was a surprise for all. We met for a girls' late lunch and started with a frozen patron margarita and a mimosa that were priced very reasonably. In fact, all the meals were inexpensive. And, although it was crowded on a Sunday afternoon, service was very good. We ordered an appetizer - a large order of fried green tomatoes. When we mentioned that this was our first time at a Cotton Patch, the waitress said, "Let me tell the manager - he will probably want to comp your appetizer!" These were served with an avocado ranch that actually resembled a jalapeno ranch - apropos when you consider we like them with a spicy remoulade. We were impressed with the menu selection - there were daily lunch specials (all you can eat catfish on Friday) and lots of pure southern comfort food options as well as healthy salads for my skinny sister. The lunch special on Sunday was turkey and dressing. I have some cooks in my family that are the best in the west (one even beat Bobby Flay), but that was the most delicious dressing and gravy I have ever tasted! Oh, and the rolls - they reminded me of Grandy's yeast rolls...fluffy and flavorful. The turkey was a thick slice from probably a roasted breast - very juicy. The garlic mashed potatoes were a little too thick for my taste but the turkey or cream gravy made them better. I also took home some meatloaf and broccoli cheese rice casserole and black-eyed peas meal for my hubby, who ate every bite. Will I be back? Just try and stop me! read more

It was okay but we probably won't go back because of the terrible aggressive manager. The black female manager was very loud when speaking to her employees and ordered them around like slaves. I feel awful to the people she speaks to. She seems very condescending and doesn't act genuine to the customers, although the taller male manager was very kind and seemed to genuinely care about the customers. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in town. My waiter, Mary, was so nice attentive. The food is very delicious and at a reasonable price. I go here with my dad almost every month and have a great time. The chicken fried chicken is great and the dr. Pepper chocolate cake is to die for. My dad loves the prices and the baked potato. 10/10 would recommend for causal dining. read more

I'd like to say, my favorite person by far is the hostess with the red hair and piercings. Shes always bubbly and happy and you can't help but smile at her personality. I was disappointed today though, her appearance completely changed and I could tell she was uncomfortable. It looked as though she was overheating from wearing the same button up that servers do, which also could make other customers mistake her for one. For two, I love her diversity and she had her piercings taken out for the first time. I feel as though that wasn't her choice and if management is making her do so, they're wrong for that. Aside from that, my server, Alyssa was incredible and kind and was quick to get everything I needed. Always good food, good service, homey feel, and I would have given a higher rating but seeing the hostess the way she was today was heartbreaking. If this is something having to do with management, please change it. More restaurants need diversity like her and i hope you guys understand that. read more

1st visit to Wylie location last night around 5pm . We were seated right away. Our server was very good and attentive in spite of her having a lot of tables to take care of . The Food came out timely and fresh . We enjoyed our meals . The side salad was good .The portion size for the meat is huge compared to the portion for our sides the okra , fries , sautéed mushrooms and macaroni that were way too small . The rolls could have been warmer but are tasty with the butter. Our bill for family of four was $62.00 before tip . We had 4 entrees . Hamburger , Fish and shrimp, country fried steak , and sirloin steak . 2 sodas ,1 alcoholic beverage a Lemonade Vodka. 1water. We brought a small amount of left over meat home . Should have asked for more rolls to go. We will go again . Next time will ask for CatFish to be fried harder it was a bit too softly cooked but still good . read more

Was very disappointed. First off was out of what I wanted and went for. Had to settle for the grilled salmon so we waited a hour and 15 min for our food to show up and it was not like this place was busy. The waitress asked if we wanted any more rolls and we did and she brought us cornbread and said they were out of rolls. Now our food shows up and I look at the salmon and it is a 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 piece of fish. I asked her if this was a regular size order. She said yes needless to say after 3 or 4 bites I was done. Not at all happy with this place. If you want a high dollar snack order the salmon you will leave still hungry if you plan on it to be a meal. 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 piece of fish $13.49. The WORST food I've ever eaten!!!! I'm not sure anyone there even knows how to cook.

I'm hoping that they're still working out the kinks. Lord knows this area could use more restaurants that aren't fast food and fried chicken. My problem is that they plate like we're on rations. The two children's meals that we ordered for our kids said it came with two sides. Mine choose fries and fruit but I can't really count five stale fries and what literally looked ONE small strawberry that was sliced up and put in a sample cup for BOTH kids as a whole sides. I should've taken a picture but I was busy tripping out about the fruit because it was seriously two slices of strawberry per child. I hope they get it together because I'd like to give it a second chance. read more

We were seated & then it took 15 minuets to get drinks & 45 to get food. They were not busy. There were empty seats all around and the bar was completely empty. Waiter kept telling me he was "checking " on our food. I think he just forgot to put it in the computer. Only when I offered to pay for our drinks so I could leave did my food miraculously appear & with no apology or answer. The the waiter immediately brought the bill. i gave this restaurant one star because zero stars was not an option. Our waiter said he would bring roles, but thirty minutes later when we have empty glasses and no roles. we asked a separate waiter and she was very nice and refilled our drinks and brought us roles. our waiter then came over after i had to give him the death stare and he finally came over. We ended up waited one hour for our food (it never came) and then finally asked the manager to come out. the manager seemed uninterested in talking to us so we just left. read more

We live nearby and have ordered from this location several times. They usually end up getting our order wrong or don't include dressing for salads etc. and we discover this after we have reached the house. The worst experience was today. I ordered the strawberry salad which is their signature item and after bringing it home and taking a look I regretted not going to Wendy's or McDonalds for a salad instead. First off the portion is tiny, I would say there was just a handful of lettuce and one chopped up strawberry and the chicken is tiny too (the dish cost 10 dollars!) second, they lettuce has wilted. The only thing that was big was the container that had the dressing! (Also (as always) I ordered the cornbread to come with the meal and was given rolls. Their chicken fingers are great (crunchy, no grease), steak actually good, salads very tasty, tortilla soup good, loved the BLT, love the $3.00 margarita. Very nice servers. This is one of my favorite places to eat. My girlfriend and I tried this location out recently since it's so close to us and unfortunately I won't be able to come back. When we walked up to the host table there was a waiter standing there. The host asked if he wanted us in his section and he rudely replied "no". I would understand if it was busy but it was not busy at all at the time. This made us feel very unwelcome. As much as I want to go back and get some of the great food they serve, I just feel like the lazy and rude staff will keep us away. read more

Wait staff not very attentive. 1st time I asked for bowl of soup 3 times and they brought me a cup of soup. 2nd time no baked potatoes after I ordered it and the substitute was mashed potatoes which was ok and they forgot the soup with the meal and the replacement mashed potatoes with toppings was cold the first time and the 2nd time one end luke warm and scalding on the other... It was like the microwaved the dish. It came out like a bowl of slop. The chicken dumpling soup had a bone it. More the cost, it is not worth going to it. Had an excellent experience. I had the chicken and dumplings and were very good. Sister had the steak and shrimp and she liked it very well. Overall had a very good experience and will definitely be back. Wifi also works wonderfully which is a requirement for me in this day and age. As important as air conditioning. read more

Had a horrible experience at this location. First, we ordered some chips with salsa and queso that took 25 minutes to get to our table because the kitchen was backed up. At that time, the restaurant was not that busy. There were probably only 15 tables occupied. Once we ordered our meals and they were delivered to us, they were semi warm and seemed to have been siting around for some time. Someone in my party had ordered salmon which came out raw, someone ordered tilapia which came out undercooked, and in someone else's broccoli casserole there was a hair. The manager did offer to remake the salmon dish (the person with the tilapia decided to eat around the uncooked portions) but the person was off put by it and decided to try something else; however, the kitchen got backed up again and they never received the new dish. The manager also did not charge us for the for two of the meals which was very generous but with all the problems it is hard to say we would be back. read more

I came to cotton patch to enjoy the food and atmosphere, but was very unhappy with the outcome, I previously worked at this location and left to pusure a better career. The management is good but they treat the employees like dogs. The store closes at 10:00 and I was still finishing what I had ordered, it was about 10:20 and the manager had told the waitress Kat to kick me out. As I was sitting there Kat came up to my table and told me to leave and that nobody wanted me here. I was shocked, I told her that I am aloud to finish what I had order and after saying that she flipped me off. before leaving I asked her about it and was told the the manager named Taylor ordered her to deliver this message to me. Talk about being unprofessional. But what can you expect after looking at all the other yelp reviews. They don't care about anyone but the money they make. Never have I ever been treated so poorly in a "family styled" restaurant. I rated this place 1 star but if I could rate it negative I would. I would like to say one good thing though. The manager shawnquisha giving very little with multiple employees leaving at once saved this restuarant, props to her and the time she's invested in this place. read more
