I have known that a hearing…read moreaide was in my future, as my family grew tired of my ongoing..."What, what did you say" etc. etc. What I did not realize was that my left ear was in similarly poor shape. My internest recommended Audiology Associates, specifically Dr. Melissa Segev. Her reputation was stellar from a number of physicians that I interviewed in the Annapolis community, as well as several hearing aide users. I knew that I was in very capable care from the hearing test on. Two PhD audiologists supervised the 50+ minute exam, and carefully related the degree of deterioration in each ear. Dr. Segev then fitted me with the latest technology, yet not the most expensive. In my case "good" was actually great! Dr. Segev and her staff embody what a patient needs when making an investment in technology....she and her associates are knowledgable, competent, caring and easy to work with. Pardon the pun, but they "listen". After the initial purchase Dr. Segev made several adjustments as the brain has become sensitized to frequencies that it has not heard for years. Last Saturday my wife and I attended the Symphony, and for the first time in 50+ years I was able to hear each instrument, high and low pitch, clearly and with "round sound". Technology and Dr. Segev have restored what was taken from year when I was just 17 years old...my family and I both thank you!

I apparently made an appt. with them about 2 years ago. But…read moreunfortunately, their policy is... if you request an ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter for the appt. and then cancel it, you are forever banned from getting services from this place. It appears that their policy is that if you need to cancel an appt., you must inform them no less than 72 hours. That is unreasonable because hearing people can cancel up to the day before any doctor's or other audiology appts., but not this one. No one can control what's going on in their lives and then they get punished for it. They discriminated against the Deaf for being Deaf. They say they had to pay for the ASL interpreter even though I cancelled. Well, that's not my problem.

My experience with Audiology Associates in Glenn Burnie was absolutely atrocious, and somehow…read morecontinues to be over nine months since I refused to ever go to them again. Tl;dr: (1) They completely misdiagnosed my son's hearing loss, costing us vital time, (2) After three visits they failed to ever successfully complete a single ABR, (3) Ten months later they are still submitting claims to my insurance company, despite the claims initially being paid, and (4) Speaking with another parent we learned that they also misdiagnosed their child years before, leading to her not receiving necessary intervention until she was several years older. As background, my son was born five weeks premature. We scheduled his ABR for the week of his due date, just days after he was released from the hospital; we told Audiology Associates this information when we scheduled and we told the audiologist Dr. Deirdre Courtney during our initial interview with her. She still proceeded to do the entire ABR before suddenly realizing that him being premature meant she couldn't read his results. She asked us to come back in a month; we did so, and their computer crashed. She asked us to come back a few weeks later; we did so, and their computer crashed again. At that point Dr. Courtney informed us she was leaving the practice and asked us to follow her to her new practice. After three visits and over two months, we still didn't have any answers for our son's hearing loss, but luckily Dr. Courtney was there to inform us of his worst-case scenario in her expertise: no need for hearing aids, and we'd come back to see her around his first birthday to monitor language development. Needless to say we've since completed four ABRs at three different practices and my son is now recovering from bilateral cochlear implant surgery, a FAR cry from the "worst case scenario" Dr. Courtney and Audiology Associates presented us with their outdated and malfunctioning equipment. Thankfully, they came off as shady enough for us to run from them and find more professional services who aided us in the timely intervention my son needed. In addition to their faulty equipment (which was still operating on Windows XP, despite hitting its end of lifecycle support in 2019), the entire practice was run-down; they had to turn off the air conditioning in the building to run their diagnostic equipment at all. Later on, my wife learned a coworker brought her now teenage daughter there as a child, where she was similarly misdiagnosed, preventing her from receiving the intervention she needed until she was three years old. And even with all of this, I probably would have just let it go, except that now nine months from the last time I brought my son to this practice, they are still attempting to charge my insurance company, despite never actually completing a single ABR. Reviewing our records shows they've submitted the same three ABR services -- all of which failed! -- to our insurance company on four separate occasions. The first time they were paid, and the following three times they were appropriately denied as double-billing. At this point I don't know if it's fraud or just incompetence (and there's plenty of reasons to suspect incompetence), but I'm done being nice about them. I could not recommend this practice less. I actively hope and pray this review reaches parents considering taking their children to this practice. If you are in a similar position to what my family found ourselves in, with a child failing their newborn screening, please, please avoid these people and take your child to the Maryland School for the Deaf's Audiology Department in either Columbia or Frederick. The experience was a night and day difference, in terms of the professionalism of the staff and audiologist as well as the equipment. On top of the phenomenal difference in quality, the MD School for the Deaf does not charge for any services; I could not have been happier to make a donation to their school after they rescued us from the horrible position Audiology Associates and Dr. Courtney put us in.

I am still disputing the validity of the charge that resulted. Meanwhile I got a trial of the high end aids of a new brand. The trouble is this brand has no additional aids for partners or small meetings. She knew, or should have known that with my hearing loss I need not just the hearing aid but a suite of supplemental aids for specific settings. I was no better off after multiple trips. Then there was a restocking fee no clearly mentioned previously. One star for fair technology in attempting the fit. Otherwise not my favorite office.

I saw Dr. Bragg passing by the front desk and we greeted with each other briefly. We were then waiting in the lobby for about 15 minutes. Dr. Bragg did not have any patient at that time. She was only on the phone. My mom did not feel well and she can't endure such long wait. When we were finally admitted to her office, it was already 3:50 - twenty minutes later than the appointment time. Dr. Bragg should have better understanding in serving rather old senior patients in their late 80s. They are fragile. My mom was sent to ER on 4/16/23 due to weak heart and passed away in the rehab on 4/27/2023. Another incident: On 2/8/2023, we went to the clinic for hearing aid check. We were put to wait in the office for about 20 minutes by another doctor. All she did was changing the domes to smaller size. We appreciated her effort but it made the situation worse. One hearing aid slipped off her ear the next day and we didn't find it unit the 2nd day. It was pretty chaotic. At home, I found larger sized domes in the bag. I changed them within 5 minutes. My mom had complained about her hearing aids being too easy to fall off, but we were never advised the solution of custom made earmolds until the visit on 3/31/2023. Dr. Bragg made the molds and sent to the manufacture to custom make it. My mom was never able to use the customed earmolds..... The new earmolds are still sitting on my late mom's table. I respect Dr. Bragg and the other doctors and I also appreciate their care and patience in treating the senior patient. However, I hope they can serve the seniors patients better and truly put them first.

The day of my child's appointment Dr.Lee canceled his appointment. I was upset but I gave him grace and still proceeded to reschedule with the operator. Fast forward my son finally went to his appointment, Dr Lee kept complimenting my son saying he was such a pleasant baby, usually kids do not cling to him the way my son did, not even his daughter. So let's be clear we were very pleasant patients but Dr. Lee seemed to not know what to say to make me feel at ease about my child's hearing test, he said a lot of trigger words to make me feel scared about my child possibly going deaf. I did a follow up appointment with another Dr and this Dr said "that his ears seem to be fine he just had harden wax build up, but to be sure we will schedule another appointment with Dr Lee and then you can return to me." So we proceeded to make another appointment with Dr. Lee for another hearing test and then we will return to the second Dr after. Well guess what, Dr. Lee canceled my child's appointment again on the day of. When I tell you this has left me so upset because for the second time this has happened and not only am I missing work but I have to now reschedule two appointments again! Because this Dr. keeps canceling appointments at the last minute. It is unprofessional. So if you want to make an appointment with this Dr be aware that you may get canceled more than once at the last minute, for appointments you had for over two weeks. And if you want the possibility of being told that you're going deaf without any other explanations then He is your Doctor, go for it!

Once I decided to purchase hearing aids, he was not pushy and listened to my needs. He gave me several options. We did have a small hiccup in the beginning on my ability to reach someone in the office. Dr Lee contacted me and personally apologized and handled it. This tells me they do care and took ownership of the mishap. I would strongly recommend them
