Costco. So, my parents, for whatever reason, never had a warehouse or club membership so the first time I went in one, I was, I guess about 22. As I remember, it felt just a tad trainwrecky....you know, I was a little horrified but crazy fascinated. As a single twenty-something, I just couldn't comprehend how any person would need to shop in bulk of that scale. That being said, my eyes still lit up at the giant tubs of pretzel rods and BOXES of candy bars, I'm getting a little misty just thinking of it..... Well, current day me is now one of those people who NEED to shop in bulk. To give you an idea, a loaf of bread would not be enough for two lunches in my house, yep, lots of kids. As those kids have grown over the years, it has gotten more and more expensive to 'dine' out. Well, the other day, my five girls and I 'dined' at Costco for under $8. I'm pretty sure that if we started eating every meal there, I could send the crew to college on what we'd save, frickin awesome!!!! Ok, granted, the baby wasn't eating anything from the Costco menu yet, but still, when she does, we'll be up to maybe $9 for lunch. Then, as we strolled leisurely through the store, rolling in style in our two-seater shopping cart, I realized, I shouldn't have even bought lunch because there were so many rockin samples, we basically had a second lunch. Actually, I felt a little sick afterwards, but Costco, that wasn't your fault..... Anywho, on top of that they have a super awesome return policy. And last but not least, the granola that they make in store is scary delicious, borderline addictive! I honestly can't quite put my finger on exactly why, but this Costco is so much more tolerable than the location at 52nd in Arvada. I almost (not quite) don't dread coming here on a Sunday. The layout is a little different, and although when it's crowded it's still hard to get around, but somehow it is a little bit easier to maneuver. They also have a better selection on certain things. For example. this Costco, but not the location on 52nd often has the toilet paper that we like. They have different frozen food options as well. The employees are friendly, and the service is always efficient. Definitely my favorite Costco in the area! read more

I generally don't review chains, but I had to do this one to compare to the one on 50-something and Wadsworth. I don't mind shopping here and will usually go out of my way to come here instead of the aforementioned. (see review). Part of this may be due to its familiarity- it was here before the other one and I know where all the stuff is at. But the floors are always clean, the staff willing to help, and the food is consistent (also cheap food court food). But who can beat a huge beef frank and a drink for a buck fifty? Given we have had a couple of problems with the food court messing up pizza orders. It was kind of ludicrous because the woman would not believe that they had put pepperoni on the pizza and I had to take a picture, but anywho I still prefer this one to the other one. Also noteworthy we once saw a couple of fairly large people tip one of the plastic benches on its side when the both went to reach for something on the ground. It was very sad, yet I still mentioned. If I could live at costco I would!! I shop Costco 1-3 times weekly! They have everything you could possibly need or want! We buy our dog wet and dry food here, nobody can beat the quality or price of Kirklands Salmon and sweet potato dry kibble! Our Dane loves it! We buy all paper products here, and the Kirkland paper towels rock! Way better than bounty IMO... Laundry detergent and fabric softener are the best prices around, as well as their price on shout or spray and wash... And I can't even begin to tell you about there amazing fresh and frozen food selections! We buy Kerry gold Irish butter, amazing price! Ribeye steaks for the husband, fresh salmon fillets for me :) their frozen fish is amazing and ever changing! Which I love that they switch it up, so you don't get stuck in a rut. I'm currently loving the barramundi, and the Mahi coconut lime fillets! Great frozen veggies, as well as fresh! Also have recently started buying whey protein, and other workout supplements here! AMAZING PRICES on this stuff!!! Ugh! I just love everything about Costco! Also have purchased electronics, a freestanding freezer, furniture, and jewelry! Nothing to ever complain about! Employees are AMAZING! We're regulars so lots of them know us, which is awesome. :D I also second everyone's opinion about this store being better than the one off of 52nd and wads... Just wanted to give you a heads up. If you see something at one Costco you would think the one 10 miles away would have the same stock. Not so much, you def. want to give them a all to make sure they have what you are looking for. For example, I wanted a particular Nikon Digital Camera that was at one Costco, I couldn't find it at another but ended up with a newer version so it worked out for me I guess. read more

Definitely want to avoid the tire center like the plague, had such a bad time getting my tires done because they are so busy they literally cannot get you in unless you have two hours minimum (usually more like three) or two weeks to wait for an appointment. Just be aware of this before you put all your eggs in the basket of this place where you're relying on them I ended up taking the tires from the tire place to a completely different shop to be put on my car because I have been driving around with a screw in my tire for almost 2 weeks. Even the employees we're laughing and joking about how much of a nightmare it was not funny if you ask me. read more

I love Costco. Just wish they would get the nice guy checking receipts a chair. As an injured person it's painful to have to watch him stand checking tickets with no chance to sit. Maybe he has a chair I don't know, but I didn't see one. Or at least a cushy mat to stand on to make it soft. When your feet don't hurt you just don't know. read more

I LOVE COSTCO! I have shopped Costco on 92nd in Westminster since it opened. Two & 1/2 years ago I moved to Arvada and STILL shop the 92nd street store, even though 52nd is closer. IMHO 92nd is FAR superior to 52nd. read more

Costco itself has very good service, and good quality products for less. However, I was not satisfied with the employees at the Verizon booth. I visited twice and each time the service was terrible. Nobody knew what they were doing and proceeded to lie to my face. When I spoke to them about my cell phone being damaged they did not listen fully and were quick to tell me they could not help. After leaving, I went to the Apple store only to find out that everything they told me was untrue, and my phone could be fixed. I am hurt, I am shocked, and most of all, I am disappointed. Best place for lunch! You can't beat the price for pizza, chicken Caesar salad, chili, chicken bake, hot dogs, polish dogs. Their hand dipped ice cream bars (rolled in chunky almonds) are made of the most delicious ice cream ever. (I don't like the hot sandwich.) Both of us can stuff ourselves for $4 to $7. There's always a long line, so have the cashier ring up your lunch when you check out with your other items, then all you have to do is walk up to the pick up window and show them your receipt. Saves a lot of time and legally allows you to cut in front of everyone, hee hee. read more

custom blinds/shutters i would not recommend going through Costco for shutters, they contact you out to a different company, who is horribly rude, the shutters are very expensive, but made cheap. i have pictures to show. the shutters don't even fit my windows right, and you can see screws from the outside, i have tried to work with costco but they keep pushing me to the company that they contacted me to, and this company said my shutters look perfect. read more

So we have been in this Costco about a dozen times over the last month, since moving into our new place a few blocks away. Last night we did some grocery and "one day we're gonna buy this" shopping. We get to checkout only to remember that Costco doesn't take 1stBank cards. That's not Costco's fault mind you! No sir, that is crappy, terrible, cheapo 1stBank's fault... but I digress. Jessica, a gorgeous redhead working the front end was so accommodating. She didn't belittle us, instead she tried to help us problem solve. She eventually suspended the transaction, pushing our whole cart to the back of the store and put into a freezer, just we could run home and scavenge for our checkbook to our new 1st:ank account. (Bank Of America, please come to Denver. I beg of you!) We came back with check in hand and she grabbed our whole cart and sent us on our way with a smile. She showed true poise and grace under pressure, rather than copping an attitude or freaking out over the stacking line behind us. Thanks Jessica! read more

Love Costco. The Citi card gives you 4% back on gas there and it is always cheaper than any station around. The rotisserie chicken is the best deal on the planet. $4.99 for a large, juicy, flavorful chicken. it feeds us for a week and we use the carcass to make chicken soup. Love all the samples, found some great new products and get fed a the same time. Have to finish out the trip with a yogurt sundae for $1.65. read more

I like the close proximity of the two arvada's costco's. This is my favorite for the reason they seem to carry some cool product lines that fit my family needs. The customer service is consistently good and the staff work hard to manage busy lines. It would be nice if they placed markers at beginning of isles to alert consumers where general food groups are as they move items frequently. If you find something you want and it is no longer available at your location, they are more than helpful in checking inventory in metro area to see if other stores have that item. Strong company model that values its customers/employees unlike that other chain that we won't mention who buys all its goods from china! read more

Costco gets 5 stars, but this review is for the alcohol (Ron's Liquors) attached to this Costco. On a trip to Costco, my brother-in-law, I, and my sister-in-law (a person with no government issued ID) decided to visit Ron's Liquor attached to Costco. I was looking to pick up a nice whisky for my husband's birthday. I found a suitable bottle and went to the register with my brother-in-law who was buying beer. Now, because my sister-in-law does not have a government issued ID we were refused service. Alright, that's fine, I understand their position based on Colorado liquor laws. We left the store and I took my brother and sister-in-laws home. I then returned, 45 minutes later, to gas my car at Costco and went into the alcohol store to purchase the whisky, sans the party without ID. I was refused service again. Why? Because I had been seen with a person who had no government issued ID. This has never happened to me at other local liquor stores such as Total Beverage, Applejack, 3S Liquors, and Royal Liquor. I was honestly flabbergasted. Obviously, they can refuse service to anyone they want, that's their business choice. However, they based their reasoning on laws which don't exist. I have been reviewing the Colorado codes myself (colorado.gov/pacific/sit... ; colorado.gov/pacific/sit... ) to ensure it. There is nothing in the Colorado liquor selling laws which prohibits the sale if I am alone, have my valid ID, and I am over 21. The manager on duty then proceeded to go on about how if I was even pulled over or in an accident with the alcohol and a minor in my vehicle at the time that the store could be held liable, which there is also no basis for in law. The manager on duty then proceeded to tell me that I looked young and that she would not have sold to me anyway. I have found the staff of this establishment to be rude, ageist, and discriminatory in nature, and better prices can be found elsewhere. They have lost my business and the business of my entire family. read more

I love Costco for many of the same reasons that others also do. However, what is the deal with getting a box(es) for your groceries. I shopped there this afternoon spending about $250 and when asked if I wanted a box, I said "yes" for all the smaller items "so that I don't have to make 25 trips to the car". I received one box so large that I could barely lift it, and many of my smaller items were still left in the basket to then slide around the back of my car. I had to make seven trips to the car to get it all in the house. This happens repeatedly. Are they coveting their boxes for a reason? read more
