On the other hand, you can inquire of almost any other customer for help. If you're looking for quality items at the best price this is one of the best places to shop. It's typical that a bath mat, for instance, at Walmart might cost you $20 and at Costco it may be $17-24. The difference you're going to see is in the quality and longevity of similar items compared side by side. Rustler jeans = junk. Well, we finally did it...we finally got a Costco membership after mulling over it for ...about 5 years! Hahaaa but we decided to take the plunge and as far as first time newbie member impressions go we were happy it wasn't too crowded (Thursday at 4ish) it was a bit of a weird way to enter (to us). So when you purchase a membership online and have to go to the membership desk which is by the "exit" part of the entrance--that was separated by carts..we were sternly told "you need to go the other way"....so we went the other way, greeted by a gentleman who asked for our Costco card which again I had to say I need to go to the membership desk...oooooonly to have to go back the wrong way to get to the desk...which is where we were trying to go the first time.....so ok we finally get to our destination--the membership desk so we could get our card. Guess they don't take your pictures for the cards like Sams club?? Anyways we made it to the grand entrance lol and I think we were in there for literally 2 hrs no joke just walking every aisle calculating the savings from going to our local Frys...all in all we were satisfied with the amount of space, the quantity of course, and the varieties!! It was dare I say it...FUN to grocery shop! Lol The check out was ...what made it from 5 stars to 4...we didn't want to haul all the stuff to self checkout and also didn't know we didn't have to put the bigger boxes on the belt...our cashier roughly threw them back in the cart and said "big stuff can stay in" as she threw the carrots, broccoli, chips, etc back in the cart...yes THREW them. Oh, and the danishes were apparently $x for 2 packs--we only got 1...she threw the pack on the top part of the cart and said you need to get two...so my wife goes back to get the second one and I finish checking out...we were heading out when we see our 24 pack of eggs had been cracked...by you guessed it, the angry cashier. Her side kick had to have seen it because one egg popped out and was just chillin on the side ...how...how is that acceptable??? The receipt checker at the end of the store kindly let me go ALLLL the way to the back to replace the eggs that his coworker broke...sigh. That by far was the worst check out experience ever and will only use self check out from now on.... read more

It's probably the most stupid thing I have ever seen. In order to limit the spread of the Corona virus, Cost Co has initiated the practice of making customers wait in line to enter the store. Today, I was forced to wait in a tight packed group of senior citizens in a line outside of the store in a cold driving rain storm until enough people exited. There was room inside the building for people to wait, but CC chose to have us wait outside. Further, when we were inside of the store and waiting to check out, we were again forced to wait in a tightly packed line before being allowed to approach the check out counters. This was explained to us because they wanted social distancing! Sorry, but the management that thought up these plans should be sent back to collecting carts from the parking lot! read more

We always go to the food court for a cheap lunch. Two hot dogs with drinks and a churro for under $5. What a deal. Then for shopping. We shop here regularly so we know the drill. Navigating through the oddity of shoppers that continuously leave their carts in the middle of the aisle or clog up the end of the aisles waiting to get their free samples is obnoxious. Not sure what it is that makes people ignorant to the fact that there are other people in this existence. Where Costco comes up short is a poor selection and produce and fresh meat, usually priced higher than any local grocery or chain. The customer service is to be desired as many employees are known to be rude. Do Costco's wares warrant an premium for membership? Costco is always depressing for me - the crowds, no windows, concrete, bulk amounts of things that offend, but I do buy my glasses there. I went in at opening today to get two pairs of glasses. I took a number after I found them, and I waited for an hour. I had a front row seat on bumbling inefficiency. One of the three employees working on a Saturday morning took two customers in the entire hour. He kibbitzed, waxed poetic, flew his narcissist flag, imparted his life story, asked their life story (Do you play an instrument? I play cello.) He over-engaged them to exhibit his own self-importance. None of the three men had any sense of urgency, none had any sense of efficient customer service. Move them through, Costco! You can be friendly and efficient. Two customers were smart enough to grab a number, jump up to the counter and say,"Something quick..." Love my Eastside Costco here in Tucson! The team here works exceptionally hard to keep their store stocked and well displayed. Rarely are they ever out of stock of anything. Store is always clean and well kept. Restrooms are always sanitary and well kept. Tried to purchase tires online, to be installed at their south tucson location(close to my office). First off, their online ordering process and website is slightly misleading - considering they take and hold your money, I think it's a scam. When it says 3-5 days, that's questionable I ordered tires for my wife's escape, paid online and waited After 7 days, their online customer service agent said they shipped that day (Friday) 2 days later I got an email stating they shipped on Sunday, contradicting their CSR That's 9 days since ordering 5 days later they emailed to let me know my tires I bought had finally arrived. When I tried to make an appointment to get them installed, I would have to wait another 3 days 3 to 5 days turned into 17 days; over 2 weeks but just shy of 3 Not only did they not pay me interest on holding my money for that time, they never apologized when I cancelled, demanding a refund and went somewhere else I'll never try buying tires from Costco again read more

Costco Grant just couldn't be better!! The atmosphere of the store has improved 1000% since requiring masks and social distancing and monitoring that with friendly employees. It sets the standard for intelligent, civilized behavior. We're back to shopping there 2-3 times/week. read more

I love Costco! I can literally get ANYTHING here and in bulk! It's awesome and generally cheaper than buying at a non-wholesale store. Not to mention the fact that there are free samples! Today I had a sample of some tasty tri-tip and jalapeño dip. Yum. They also have a food court with extremely reasonably priced food. I also had a huge hot dog today with a soft drink for $1.58 which is included tax. However, at this particular location, my boyfriend and I noticed that the employees have an attitude problem and seem extremely unhappy. This was characteristic of not only our cashiers for what we bought, but also the cashier at the food court and those who were giving out samples. It's unfortunate and contrasts with the Costco off of the l-10. Also, as others have mentioned, the parking is truly unfortunate. Oh well. Probably will be back anyway. read more

Given how much I love Costco, from its free samples, dirt-cheap hot dogs, selection of hard alcohol, cheaper gas, people who don't know how to push carts and put them away properly, and the ugliest swimsuit collections around - it's blasphemous for me to give one two stars. A Costco two-start is the equivalent of a regular store one- or negative-star. ***WHAT WENT WRONG?*** Thanks to Costco, my husband and I have this argument that will last till the end of days, or till one of us falls on her head, causing her to eat soft foods out of baby jars, lay in a fetal position and suck on her thumb the rest of her life. (This is not to say I don't do this already.) While perusing the tantalizing wine selection at this Costco - a larger selection than the Costco in NW Tucson - a man, who I say is the manufacturer's rep for some Two-buck Chuck, while my "better half" says he's the designated wine guy - asks us if he can help. We say - very humbly...if we were any more humble, we'd be on the ground groveling...we're short people, anyway - that we're looking for a bottle of Paul Hobbs Chardonnay - a higher-priced white wine from California. Two-buck Chuck then launches into a tirade about how some people drink a bottle of wine with a good meal and have a grand 'ol time and that's why they get imprinted on a particular bottle of wine, implying, of course, that we don't know anything about wine and that we're snobs for wanting this bottle of Paul Hobbs. (You can also deduce from his rant that this Costco did not have Paul Hobbs.) When we mentioned that we'd purchased the Paul Hobbs at a SEATTLE Costco a month earlier, the guy changed his tone - but really? When this fine institution that you work for/in/about/around - is offering an array of wine priced anywhere from a month's salary for a Bangladeshi factory worker to the sales price of a memory-foam mattress, complete with a high-priced escort sitting on the mattress - this guy can stand there and judge people based on whether or not they're buying the wine that he's purportedly pimping?! Their tire center SUCKS. A guy named Adam "worked" on my car. They messed up my car and tried to blame it on the fact that I didn't want to buy four new tires since two of the tires were still in great condition. They work on commission here which is why they were trying to get me to buy more from them. I'm appalled at their service! My car started to make a loud noise when I drove away from the tire center, thanks Costco! They said it could only be fixed by buying all four new tires. Not cool, so I requested a refund to go elsewhere. They refused to give me all of my money back. Ridiculous! I ended up going elsewhere and found out that everything Costco said was a lie and needless to say I refuse to go to a crooked place like that again. Poor customer service and lack of ethics. Update: Called Costco to talk to a manager and ended up talking to a rude manager by the name of Curtis. Worst customer service ever. I requested that he refund me all of my money since it wasn't fair that I had to pay for them to mess up my car. Long story short he said he didn't believe me and that he didn't think they did anything wrong. When I asked him why I didn't have any car issues after getting the same type of service elsewhere, he said I dont know. After he argued with me for a while he said he would issue a refund ONLY if I acknowledged that he was only refunding me because he wanted to ensure that we continue being a Costco member and NOT because they did anything wrong. This review is for COSTCO ONLINE ORDERING AND DELIVERY. NOT RECOMMENDED. If you cannot fit into your vehicle or have multiple large items you would like delivered and want to order online, this is not recommended. 1) their online website ordering system is glitchy and I have previously ordered by phone because customer access was unavailable for some glitchy reason. Their customer service had no problem accessing items... 2) two large orders I placed within the last 3 months: each order "lost" half my order. Seems the warehouse in Ontario, CA is "losing" purchased goods. It's going "somewhere" just not getting shipped to the customer. This seems to be the shipping warehouse for Tucson delivered goods. 3) Costco has to re-ship missing items, so there is additional wait and their computer never updates what they are doing. When finally got thru by phone, evidently customer service has access to information but the customer cannot access what is happening with their order online. 4) Has been difficult to access a real person online to find out what happened. Chat has been the only option and I had to wait 20 minutes just for Chat help. 5) Their alternative is to just shop at the warehouse....in this day and age, that is unacceptable! read more

My favorite Costco in Tucson. Its more organized and its HUGE!!!!! The layout is very similar to the ones in California that I'm use to. The membership/return desk is right where you enter. And the photo and optical department is right around the corner. They have a great bakery. The food court is awesome with lots of indoor seating. Everything is easy to find and the best part..... free samples everyday of the week! I try to buy from Costco if I have a choice, from tires to spinach to wine. Love the products, the guarantee and the convenience. However, I've noticed recently that this particular store's staff is much, much more distracted than other Costcos I've been in. For instance the woman who checked us out yesterday carried on a conversation with the girl boxing our items the entire time the person in front of me checked out and the conversation continued through checking me out too. Yes, I get that people need to talk, but at this store I have encountered employees in the back aisles gossiping and the guy by the Mac products stood there looking up at the ceiling rather than to greet me. WTF? Like I said, I've been to Costcos from WA to CA to UT and I've never found such, I don't know what, distraction? inattentiveness? slacking? Makes me feel like I'm at Walmart or something. read more

You've heard of the Subway diet, right? This upcoming year, from Jan 1 thru Dec 31, I will be on the "Costco Diet." It works like this: 1. Costs only $55 per year (this is the cost of a membership). 2. Sample every item that is being offered by the nice people in blue aprons and hair nets. This will include enchiladas, tacos, goat cheese, spaghetti, cereal, V8, etc. The menu changes daily. 3. Sample until full - and try to get a variety that is healthy and tasty. 4. Exercise - none of these samplers are right next to each other. So you will have to walk around the store for a bit. I will be tracking two different results - 1) Weight Loss 2) Money Saved (I will record what I would've eaten that day instead, and how much it would have come to). As for a review, overall Costco has some great deals, good tasting food offerings, and nice perks. For a Costco, this one is a real drag. We'll be driving extra to go to the Costco on Campbell from now on. The lines at Costco are long at every location--wholesale problems. However, not only is this store consistently overcrowded, it's staff are rude and the produce is sometimes rotten. What's worse is the general customer base of this store. Maybe it's in a location next to a number of retirement communities, but the scooter traffic is worse than a Los Angeles freeway. And in California, at least people are trying to go fast. Go to the Costco on Campbell. If you live within a thirty minute drive, you're still guaranteed to save an hour 's time by avoiding the scooter and walker traffic. read more

Costco is the only place I can think of where you voluntarily pay a yearly fee just to aggravate yourself. As others mention: 1. The parking lot (at this Costco) really sucks. I have seen people following someone with a cart hoping for a parking space ten feet closer to the door. 2. Crowds in the aisles and lines of people at the checkouts and sample stations (OK, be honest, have you ever bought one of these JUST BECAUSE you sampled it?) 3. Six pounds of bananas? Really? Maybe if you are a family of monkeys. Ok, so that's the downside. The upside: 1. Meat - if your timing is right you can pick up packages of "Prime" steak. Prime is generally what gets served in high-end restaurants. "Choice" cuts are normal. Look for the blue styrofoam packaging to indicate "Prime". There really is a big difference. 2. The items you find here are usually high quality. Costco has a high standard and stands behind their products. They will take just about anything back and give you a full refund. 3. The food court - I would be remiss if I did not mention this. Yes, it comes with the same long lines and crowds of people, but do you blame them? A huge hot dog AND a soda for $1.50. Slice of pizza for two bucks? Yes, please. Where else can you get a whole pizza that feeds a family of four for ten bucks. If you can deal with the crowds and the parking lot, you will find things you love about Costco and things you hate about Costco. BUT... we keep going back. read more

Meet my new boyfriend... Some say he's American made, others say he's part Chinese. Only thing I know is that I am totally in love with him... Gosh, Costco is the best place in Tucson. There are 2 locations (one on Grant and the other on Thornydale) where you can indulge in quality products for unbelievable prices. It is rumored that Costco is Chinese owned or at least influenced by Chinese investors/trade, so every time I see a headline in the newspapers talking about Bush starting a fight with China I get a little bit nervous. Costco is the best thing that ever happened to the United States. Of course like all good little secret societies, you have to pay a membership fee or sign a contract in your own blood to belong. Thank Goodness they only ask for a membership fee, with the minimal fee being something about $44 a year. IT IS WORTH IT! I am telling you IT IS WORTH IT! Because you save more than $44 during your first shopping experience. Okay, this next paragraph may expose my age but is necessary to illustrate to you how much one can save: 12 rolls of paper towels= ~$11.00 36 rolls of toilet tissue= ~$16.00 200 13 gallon trash bags= ~$12.00 (this can last you anywhere between 1 to 2 years) Okay, the boring stuff is over. But you can get monster (14") pumpkin pies for $5.99 and their freshly baked pumpkin pies were even featured on Oprah (if its been on Oprah it has to be good, or written by a pathological liar) and they are better than Marie Callendar's. You can get everything there ranging from pizzas to pre-prepared meals, or a box of 60 Eggo waffles for only ~$6.00 to 36 cans of Pepsi for ~$8.95. Makeup, house ware items, tires, and clothes are not even the exception to the rule. If you can't find it at the store, then simply go to their website and order it (www.costco.com). Cons: My fully equipped boyfriend doesn't always have the best produce. Sometimes its stellar and other times you say to yourself "I'm only getting you because you're cheap" Shoppers are often in a catatonic state where you have to injure them with your cart in order to get them to move out of your way and off to the side isles. Many people from Mexico shop here, but it seems like they are the only ones who understand English because its the rude American shoppers who simply don't understand words such as "Excuse me" or "Please Move" or "For The Last Time Please F%*&ing Move"- bring a megaphone or a fog horn. Lines can be horrendous, but do move quickly. What makes you stay in line is because of your Pavlovian recall of how hard it was for you to even find a parking space upon arrival. Its kinda like Survivor - if you're waiting in line and realize you forgot an item, you need to make a split second decision if you trust the person behind you enough to form an alliance where they "claim" they'll save you a place in line behind them if you return in a prompt fashion. Pros: Cheap, cheap, cheap but with QUALITY and top name brands. You save on average between 20-50% off the exact same products if you bought them at Target or even Macy's. The government should stop issuing WIC and just buy poor people membership to this place and a $150 gift certificate. Speaking of irony, its one of the cheapest places in Tucson but you see nothing but wealthy people shopping here (go figure). read more

Costco is one of my favorite places to shop but the location on Grant road is not really focused on customer service. I have never seen a major retailer who lets their employees act rude and unprofessional. I have shopped her for years and you "tolerate" the employees so as to not have to drive across town. I just love Costco! On top of really great prices, I have found them to have the best selection of quality meat, fresh farmed and freshwater fish, and live mussels. Fresh lobster tail and whole crab at a decent price. They have a nice selection of wine, baked goods, and I am always finding the unordinary, must try at least once, dishes and items. Surprisingly a good variety of organic foods too! This particular store is smaller than the others but I can usually find what I am looking for and don't feel the need to go to the larger store on Tucson Marketplace and fight the crowds, which makes me happy. Great place at Christmas when you need to find a variety of gifts but aren't the "shopping type". One stop shop with good quality. I recommend the business membership if you can get it & if you spend at least a couple hundred a month here ( I can't imagine anyone that wouldn't ) because you get a percentage back at the end of the year that more than makes up for the cost of membership. It pays for itself and then some! Great place to shop for the elderly and handicap as they have a TON of handicap parking and numerous electric carts that actually are well maintained and work... There was a mix up regarding membership renewal being already paid. The manager Ray was able to clear things up. It was a little complicated because of the amount of people on the account. Even though it took a while, Ray remained very patient and friendly. He even filled out the form/faxed it to Amex showing proof of membership. Shout out to the wonderful pharmacy at Costo! I am not even a Costco member, but they really went above and beyond for my cat. I had called and had taken my prescription to 5 other pharmacies who turned me away. Costco accepted my coupon and ordered me an entire case of cat medicine. I am set for a few months. Walgreens wanted $78 for a 9 day supply, but Costo charged me $32 for a supply that will last me almost 4 months! Thank you Costco, I getting my membership card soon. I bought a 75 inch Samsung Tv from Costco bought the extended warranty for no apparent reason!! I turned my tv on back from vacation and 2 white bars across tv took it back to Costco and tefused to take it back unloaded heavy tv and loaded it back. They gave me a Lg number to call they sent out there technician and and said screen was broken long story short they want to charge me about $600 to fix it. When I paid almost $1000 for tv you're crazy will never buy anything electronic from Costco ever again very angry and dissatisfied with your service what's the warranty for!!!! This review is for the tire center. I replaced all of the existing Dunlop tires on my Honda Fit with a set of Michelin A/S (185/55/16). These are the best tires on the market right now for my car, and other places in town were charging over $700. I got these at Costco for $577 after all fees. Sharon helped me. She was very helpful and courteous, answering all my questions. She even told me about different places in the area to eat, after finding out I didn't have a ride and would have to wait (side note: Costco doesn't have wifi and there's not a nice waiting room in the tire place; which is fine considering they cut corners on pricing). I would gladly recommend the tire place here, not only for product quality and price, but also because the staff is so awesome. Thanks Sharon; you deserve a promotion! read more
