It has one of the highest gas prices in town, so I wouldn't come here for a fill up unless money is no object, or if you were really desperate. The employee on the shift told me I had to scan the machine at the counter because he is new. If he scans my tickets using his machine behind the counter and there is a cash out of $100 or more, then he would be screwed. He claimed that it was his first day there. He did not want to get into trouble. I kept scanning the machine on the counter several times, including the times he helped. The screen kept saying, "Check ticket." The machine refused to work. I asked him, "So you are not going to help me at all?" The employee said, "No. I can't. It's my first day and I am alone today." I asked, "So what do I do?" He said, "You can go to another store, the one across the street." The store across the street is actually a 7-Eleven store. I left my vehicle there and walked across the street to have my tickets checked and to purchase another lottery ticket. I told the employee at the 7-Eleven store what happened. He shook his head in disbelief. Manager/owner, if you are reading this, please review the procedure and retrain employees. I asked the Speedway Convenience Store's employee's name. I advised Young that I have bought a machine and checked the code mysefl, so I would just like to know if there is time today to have my hose replaced. This is all while the mechanic and a group of five were chatting and hanging out with no customers but me sitting in the car on a ramp. I am not instructed or invited into the office as I have been before. I get out and go to the office and was approached and asked what I needed by someone already in the service bay. I told him this was my car, and I'm going into the office. I sat down and Young showed me my air filters, both replaced two months olago, one completely clean, the other slightly dirty. He asked if I wanted to replace both, I declined. They were clearly clean. Mechanic came in and told me that there is nothing they can do because the dealer has better equipment. I thanked him. Young then told me that it was time to pay and charged about $180 for service. He said that the use of their scanning machine was $50 because it costs them money every time they use it. I told him that I did not ask for the use of the machine, and I knew the error codes and only asked if repairs could be made today. He restarted the charge, and I paid. I asked for the QR code for service, and he grabbed it and gave me an intimidating death stare and covered his chest, so I couldn't see his name. I then asked his name, and he stared me down as I walked out and never responded. I felt as though he wanted to assault me and felt the need to exit as soon as possible. I've come to this location and happily paid over $2,000 the past couple of months for services and repairs on my two vehicles because of the welcoming no bs service that Jose has provided. Is this what they do when Jose isn't there? I truly feel dissatisfied and swindled. Going to repose to social media to avoid others having to deal with people like Young.
