I love costco. It is a cool place to get quality stuff. I get my eye exams here. I order my glasses and contact through them. I never hesitate with my purchases here bc the prices are low and the customer service is superior to stupid SAM's Club. My favorite items to buy are the greek jalepeno dip, chicken wontons, shrimp salad, hummus, contact solution, chips, and whey protein. I also use their pharmacy...expect a wait. read more

Believe it or not, the reason I love this place so much, is because of the bathrooms, they are clean, I feel like I can actually go in there, sit down and take care of business. Walmart has disgusting bathrooms and it just turns me off BAD. Unlimited samples are awesome, the way they treat you as a member is astounding, the prices are a couple dollars more than walmart (or even the same price at times) but you get so much more, in one sense it can be disappointing, sometimes I can't use all the potatoes etc before they go bad... but it's only one or two potatoes that turn... but man! overall this place is amazing good stuff for great prices, and amazing quantity, awesome people, one of my favorite things to do is to go to the seafood stand they have on the weekends and talk to the guy there, he's pretty awesome, and he has good recipes for scallops/muscles! read more

Yelp didnt provide a separate page for the Costco tire center, so this is as close as I could get. I purchased new tires for the wife's Lexus at Costco. I had 4 of the same tire on the vehicle when I brought them the car and I said I'd like 4 of the same size tire put on the car. The salesperson told me that the manufacturer put different sized tires on the back and front of the car. I said but I want 4 of the same size tires all around the car just as has been on the car that the wife had driven for a couple years. They replied that it was their policy to require that I go with the different sized tires. I said fine. What they dont tell you, that I learned later is that because of the different size tires the warranty is halved, because they cannot rotate the tires like most tires (like having 4 of the same tire) so they get out of their warranty obligation sooner. They were special order (of course) and were not in stock (of course) and had to be shipped. So I came back a week later and they put the new special order tires on my wifes car. Fast forward 7,000 miles and my wife has a nail in the sidewall of the right rear tire. I bring it in and because it is un-repairable they have to get a new one. The guy clicks away at the keyboard and says we dont have that in stock (I say of course) he continues to click away and says there are none in the area (of course) he continues clicking and says there are none in Texas (of course) he continues clicking and says I will have to have it shipped from Arizona (of course) and I ask how long will that take and he say 3-7 days (of course) and a week later I call and ask where the tire is and the clerk at the other end of the phone says they havent shipped yet (of course) so I ask when will they and he says he doesnt know (of course) Terrible customer service, I'll never buy tires at Costco again. 10 days later, still not shipped. When do you suppose they'll be shipped? "We have no idea". Did I mention my wife is driving around on a tire with a nail in it? Day 11 I call and they tell me "the tire is here". Day 12 I go and stand in line waiting for the store to open. Once in "customer service" pecks away at the computer and walks away several times looking for the tire. He comes back, "they said it was here?", yes. Long story short, it wasnt there. The guy gets my number and promises to call me by days end with an answer about what the plan is. No call. Day 13 is a Sunday. The other frustrating thing is this: When I originally go to the tire shop with the nail in the tire the guy waiting on me says "your membership has expired" so I say just put it on whatever tab this tire situation is gonna cost me. He then explained that I would have to pay about 10% of the $220 tire cost, to which I agreed and paid the tab of $94. I asked how much is the membership and he explains that its $55, so I say "I guess I paid more than 10% for the tire huh?" No reply. So I pay the $94. Fast forward to day 12 when I thought I was going to get my tire put on, after they told me the tire wasnt there and that getting it replaced wasnt happening that day I walked off and went in to the store to get some coffee beans (I love(d) their coffee) and at checkout I was told "your membership needs renewing". I AM NOT EVEN KIDDING. I wont bore the reader with the rest, suffice to say I met with the manager and got zero satisfaction, and still have a nail in my tire. Day 16 I got the call that the tire is in. Day 17 heading up to Costco, fingers crossed. Finally success! They claimed it was a problem with Michelin and that the stock numbers had changed....sure, whatever. In the end they refunded me (after I talked with the general manager) most of what they had charged because of the inconvenience. In the end it worked out, but wow what a pain. read more

Always a great but costly visit. You really save but such a fun trip on Saturday morning to just walk the aisles and see what's new. Surprisingly you find great items that appear and then sell out in hours. Great wine section and Kirkland brands are great inexpensive knockoffs or the same! Buy tenderloin in bulk and cut into filets at home, pork shoulder and brisket and great fruits and berries. And can't beat a $1.50 hot dog and soda! read more

In the past, Costco customer service was bad. Now, it is hands down the worst I've ever experienced. Last time, the cashier made a HANDICAPPED man get out of his wheelchair, prop himself up with one hand against the cashier's table and put his groceries on the conveyer belt himself! This time, I witnessed a women stand in line for a long time only to have the cashier tell her that she needs to renew her membership. She said, "no, I won't renew my membership." The Costco cashier, Lee, chuckled and said, "Ok. Bye." Normally, when you lose a customer, a business would be really concerned and ask the customer what's the matter and what can they do to keep them. No Costco. The cashier YELLED for the manager so the manager could cancel out everything that LEE had already rung up for the customer. Lee told his manager the story and chuckled, "Man, she looked pissed off when I told her 'bye'!" The manager then chuckled, too! Later, I went to buy a whole combination pizza. The girl told me that it would take 25 minutes, so I asked her what she has available with toppings. She said that she could sell me 2 slices of pepperoni in 5 min. A pepperoni pizza is about to make it out of the oven. 5 minutes later, another girl walks by and takes the pepperoni pizza and gives it to another customer! I asked the first girl what's happening. She said she didn't know that it was already sold. She obviously did not bother to check with the other pizza girl before she answered my question. She then said, "oh, it will be 5 more minutes." 5 minutes later, I asked her what's up and she said, "5 more minutes." 5 minutes after that, it still wasn't done yet. So, I told her to cut me 2 slices of cheese pizza instead. She then tells a guy to cut the pizza. The guy cuts it in S-L-O-W M-O-T-I-O-N. It took him several minutes to cut it so that by the time he finished cutting it, the pepperoni pizza was falling out of the oven already. So, I told him just to give me the pepperoni pizza. The girl had LIED to me about the 2nd pepperoni pizza. She probably just put another one in after she accidentally told me 5 minutes for a pizza that was already sold to someone else. If I knew I had to wait 15 min for a new pizza (instead of 25 min), I would've bought the whole one to begin with instead of 2 slices. Ugh!!!! Costco is the epitome of customer DISSERVICE. If you want to be treated like a refugee begging for food while paying big bucks, go ahead, enjoy the Costco experience. LOL! read more

My first impression of the place isn't so great. When you have to sign up for the membership before shopping, meaning that the Customer Service/Membership Desk is the first point of contact, you better make sure the people working that desk are friendly and helpful, heck I'd settle for friendly OR helpful. Here's what happened: I waited in line for a spot at the Customer Service desk to open up. I stepped up at my turn: Me: Is this where I sign up for a membership? Costco: yeah. Me: Well, how does it work? (Keep in mind this was my first visit to any sort of wholesale club store) Costco: ............ Me: Do I pay $50/mo, $50/year how does.... Costco: yeah, if you want our "least popular" membership (snarky) Me: your "least popular" membership? Is that what it's called? Costco: no, I just call it that. They (Costco) don't pay me to sell anything.... The conversation continued, but the whole time I felt I was a nuisance for even inquiring about memberships. Do you want new Customers? Anyway, point of this review is, I didn't get a great impression of the place from my first point of contact. I don't think Mr. Costco (leadership) would appreciate any of the membership packages being snarkely referred to as "the least popular" as if I was subhuman for even considering it. I purchased the "least popular" membership and continued to explore the store. I noticed a lot of employees standing around and complaining about other employees and job tasks. The only person that stood out to be there to help was the butcher. One of the stars is just for him. But the customer service girl lost 4 stars. read more

This review specifically refers to this COSTCO store's management and customer service efforts. We bought a kitchen table and chair set from this store and there were too many big boxes to fit in our vehicle. The Store was kind enough to hold the boxes we couldn't initially fit in our car at the store until we came back with a pickup truck that night. It was late when we got home, so we didn't unpack the table until the next day. After unboxing it we saw there was a large crack in the top. We called the store and pointed out that returning it was a difficult option since we no longer had the borrowed pickup anymore. The manager, Jeff, was very accommodating and (a day later) sent a replacement table with two of his employees (Matt and Cook) in one of their personally owned pickups. When they arrived, they carried the replacement table inside, took the broken table with them, and even took the empty boxes from the rest of the table set to recycle at the store. Later that day Jeff, the manager, called to make sure everything worked out okay. We were very impressed and were pleasantly surprised by the efforts of this store's management to correct the problem and make sure we had a good experience shopping at their store. read more

UNTRAINED, NON CARING SHOPPING CART EMPLOYEE. Visited Costco a couple weeks ago and wanted to share my negative experience as I left the store. I checked out with the attendant as usual as they verified my receipt. As you know you are not moving at the time and you are 2 feet from exiting the store. Once the attendant marked my receipt, I began to wheel my cart out and all of a sudden from the left, literally 2 feet out the door, a line of carts (about 25) side swipes my cart. I looked at the cart employee for an explanation on why he would wheel 25 carts 2 feet from the exit of the store where he cannot see customers coming out. This is a major safety hazard that could have been a terrible accident say for a SENIOR CITIZEN OR A CHILD IN A CART. As I looked at him to at least apologize, he looked at me and in a RUDE TONE OF VOICE said, "I can't stop the carts" I thought to myself, really? Not, "I'm Sorry Sir". I said to him, "you should not be pulling the carts so close to the exit, you just hit a customer" Again with his non caring attitude, he said, "I can't stop the carts". I shook my head and left. Then this really bothered me with all the senior citizens and children I saw in the store while I was shopping. Another 1/2 second, he would have directly hit me with his carts. I wanted to share this with everyone who shops at the Plano TX Costco to be careful of this employee who could care less about the safety of Costco's customers. He needs to be re trained on where to wheel his carts (not perpendicular 2 feet from the exit of the store where it is a blind corner) and on customer service.as he should know as an employee he represents Costco and the brand. I shop at Costco for my business and have been a loyal customer. Everyone in the store has always provided exceptional customer service, with the exception of today. I did go to Costco's website and FB page and posted about this experience. A Manager from Costco did contact me the same day to apologize for the incident and told me the employee would be spoken to. read more

I am updating my review because I made a return today and the staff was extremely rude. We purchased a rotisserie chicken and it was raw. I called and they said to that we just needed to let the front desk know and we didn't need to bring the chicken in. When we went to return it they made a big deal about it. She called a manager over and the manager told them to just return it, it was only 4 dollars. As someone who shops here frequently I am rather upset about the poor service. read more

My favorite place to shop!! Food and other product selection seems to vary as they add and remove things. To this day I am still trying to find the mini chocolate eclairs!! If I find them you can bet I'm bringing my pickup truck and stocking up a freezer full of them. This brings me to my next point, really cheap, high-quality gas for the pickup makes $200+ grocery shopping a little less painful. Also convenient is buying in bulk means less grocery trips. Sometimes I make mini trips to Costco to buy a few things to stop by the food court for a cheap, quick bite or to fill up the gas tank. I could mostly careless for the other shoppers they are usually rude and today proved no different but the employees were great when we had questions. Always have great tasty samples!! Had to write a note due to a random act of kindness I witnessed today, 10/20 @ 10:35 am while leaving Costco. A young man ( wasn't able to see his name tag) was rounding carts up from the parking lot and as he returned them to their designated area, a BMW pulled up to drop off an elderly woman. This young man, a Costco employee, took the time to open the door and help this woman out of the vehicle without any prompting. This is more of a reflection on him as a person; however, he did this while in the middle of a regular work day. Costco is great! I always wanted to be able to buy some things in bulk that I go through a lot of. Sam's club and their attachment to Wal-Mart is just awful. I cannot in good conscience patron a place like that. Costco, however, takes good care of their employees. I don't even mind the hours of the store (closes much much earlier than typical box stores) because I know it means the employees get to go home to their families. Perfect. The quality of the items here is way better than Sam's or Wal-Mart, too. I don't hesitate to get anything here. This particular location also has some *great* gelato that's on par with some of the best gelato specialty places I've been to. Just like with everything, though, the variety of options is limited. No matter! Chocolate and Pistachio again, please! Yum. The only reason I keep it from 5 stars is I'm not crazy about their toilet paper and paper towel options. I still buy these from Target, because I didn't care for the quality of the items they offer. Ah well, you can't have everything I suppose. read more

I'm in the store about 20 minutes 12.20 in the afternoon /Tuesday afternoon /Today to come out and my trucks been broken into. No security cameras no nothing! broad daylight. I'd heard good things about Costco...both their great prices and the fair way they treat their employees versus He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named-Mart. My first visit to a Costco was to the one in Lewisville and we were utterly underwhelmed. Thankfully we gave the one here in West Plano a try. Much bigger, much more selection...and tasty Gelato in the food court. At first we didn't think we'd buy enough in bulk to justify a membership, but after just a few bulk food items, a set of tires, and a new phone, the savings really added up. Didn't really appreciate the sales job push of the AMEX card when joining, but other than that love it love it. read more

They have everything and cheap. Granted you do have to buy a years supply of it but every once in a while that is ok. I am also a sucker for their promotions. They have some lady handing out bites of some food and for some reason when this happens at a grocery store I just move on but there I leave with a years supply of flavored frozen chicken. I recommend Costco for parties and for non-perishable items that you can store in the closet and use for a long time. They have also gotten better with things like TVs over the last couple years but I have never bought one of them there. read more

I went to get some food and other stuff. I ran into a watch i liked. They wrote me up and i paid to pick up the item. They mislabeled the product, misplaced a wrong tag on the watch i wanted. They asked if. I didnt want the other one, $400 more, just return it and take my money back. Someone needs to be on top of things to not get the labels misplaced... Disappointing day :( read more

Who doesn't love Costco? They have cheap gas, cheap (but good) food and great items in bulk! They have very fresh produce at a great price. The wine selection is great. They have the top of the top and the mid to lower priced wines. The Kirkland brand that is not too shabby. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I have purchased everything from rose bushes to fans in one trip. I look forward to my Sunday outing to Costco! read more
