It is about time this Costco location got a gas station. Unlike other locations, the location and design are very nice. Their is plenty off space to maneuver and wait in line without being in the way of other traffic. I wish the Mission Valley location had this type of set up. They have plenty of pumps to handle almost any type of volume. The only place that may have more pumps are the large interstate trucking gas stations. Access and exit are a breeze thanks to the large amount of land they have available. read more

Oh yeah, I got things figured out. They have a map of open pumps, which is crazy cool. Also, you can pump from the opposite side of your car, which I always see people do. It's a little awkward, but it works. I like this station. Keep in mind, no cash! Two grades of fuel, not three. Get in, get out. I remember when this lot had a Babies R Us. I love any Costco with a set up like this. Mission Valley needs to remodel theirs like this. I do so love my Costco. Even though I have a small family there are still plenty of values to be had. The issue is the roasted chicken. Like so many of us of course I buy them. They now have new packaging and it is horrible. The chickens look smaller but mine was not as I weighed it at home 3 pounds 1 ounce. The chicken does not sit upright in the new bag. Just had the craziest experience at the Costco food court here. First we went to the inperson lane and after waiting for a few people they asked cash or card? We said card, they said you will need to go to the kiosk. We had cash, so paid cash as to not wait in line again. HAVE a CASH ONLY sign. Just a silly paper on the window that says cash only, not hard. They said it was a courtesy window for cash only. Why is it a courtesy to take cash??? Just have a sign so people who only have cash know where to go. Also they didn't give us a reciept, asked for our name and said it will be at next window. The person in front of us order a hot dog, the cashier gave her the drink and then said wait in the line. The actually hot dog in a bag was right behind her. Literally reach backward and grab the hot dog and she's happy and gone. But instead they said go wait at the next window. CRAZY!!! We both waited about 10 minutes, no food, we complained and they said it was a courtesy window to take cash not to expedite orders. It was just a mess, we go back in the line and got our money back. Fix your system. Not working to help people, just a random step to punish people paying cash. read more

So happy they replaced the babies r us with Costco gas! 4 pumps per line, and 8 lines total. Both good and bad- great for availability and fast lines, but be very careful because it's asking for a fender-bender with even more people in a hurry zipping between lines to get to an open front pump. I've been cut off both getting in and out. Compared to Mission Valley, I'd say the lines go much faster but sometimes there are 1-3 open pumps in front with only the rear one occupied. Sometimes cars in 2 different lanes will try to fight to get to the open spot first which is a nasty mess. But, as long as you keep your eyes open for the rude and rushing drivers, it's super convenient! read more

I happened to be driving by this morning and the gas station had just been open an hour. The construction is still not complete so it's a bit confusing getting in, but there were ZERO people in line. Sweet. Right now they ARE NOT able to scan your card via the COSTCO APP at the pump. There are a few employees with cards that were able to use a generic card to unlock the pump. I'm not sure how long they'll do this for, but one of them told me that the app won't work at the pump for several months. read more

Racist Costco's policy needs to be addressed from the greeters to customer service to the cashier. I have executive membership, but they don't care as long as I'm black, and I am not confrontational. I see it, and I go home. Still, it hunts me in my sleep because I was not born in this country. I never have to deal with hate where I come from, so fighting has not being thought growing up. Still, those employees who work and get paid below my grade treat me as if I'm beneath them because of their dumbhead, and Costco has no way of receiving any feedback online, and you have to call to complain to the same customer service that offends me the first place. I mostly consider the value as the cost of fuel and the taxes applied to the fuel has increased significantly, so I look for ways I can save were even I can. Costco also gives me back 4% at the end of the year. I consider this both Value and Quality. I did request service once when I had an injury to my hand and the attendant was very happy to serve me and he taught me something about card I didn't know. Gas station setup is a mess. Getting in and out of there is a nightmare. There is always traffic, people from the parking lot don't let you in...it's awful what they've done. The people who don't have a stop sign don't let the people with a stop sign in. Traffic goes all the way to Fletcher Parkway. Woooow!! This is seriously THE BEST Costco gas station I have ever been to! This place was huge! It was very spacious and since there were ~32 pumps there was basically no wait. I mean come onnnn, I can't believe I am raving about a Costco gas station.. but yes it's happening! They also have displays which light up green or red to let you know which pumps aren't taken. I love the new La Mesa Costco gas station!! It is huge and there is never a wait. 4 pumps on each side with a total of 8 pumps for every two lanes. They also have a little pad that shows you a green gas pump when there is an open space and red gas pump to show you which pumps are taken. So you're not depending on your own personal view but you're looking up at the board to see where the openings are it's great. read more

1 star for the women who works there that was loudly talking crap about me while literally being next to me. A pump was not available and instead of putting a cone in the middle of it, they put it way in front of the pump which looks like it's available so that was on me. The problem is when I was inserting gas, the woman who works there was talking loudly about and next to me saying "why would she even do that? There's a cone there for a reason".
