It was compatible with my Spectrum service that didn't require a Fire Stick to access all of my streaming apps, as well as not needing Spectrum's TV receiver to access standard broadcast channels which saved me money. The picture quality was clear and crisp, the audio was decent but a sound bar might pump things up more, and it was extremely lightweight. The service plan added two additional years to the three-year factory warranty. This Costco is located in a beautiful part of Hawaii Kai! The clientele is great and I used to go to Costco in Kalihi, but once I came to this Costco, I've been going to this Costco all the time. At Costco, you can buy everything in bulk, and although you spend quite a bit of money on the shopping itself, you are actually saving a lot of money because you spend things little by little. That's a big advantage for me to shop at Costco. As an Executive member, Costco will send you a check once a year. The amount of the check depends on how much you spend at Costco throughout the year, but you can use it to shop at Costco, which is very nice! I believe that these membership benefits are the reason why Costco is so popular. In addition, there are many other tastings being rolled out in the store, and efforts to attract new customers for new and regular products can be seen everywhere. Costco's famous hot dogs and pizzas are sold outside the store, and there is a long line for them at lunch time! I love Costco. But they did a great service to their membership when they got rid of American Express, Coke, Polish hotdogs combination pizza just to keep the current prices. I can no longer eat it their food court. I would've preferred that they raised their prices on Polish stocks drinks, combination pizza, and still have the opportunity to get them. Much higher quality products at that time. Like they say you get what you pay for. Waiting for the day that they eliminate their rotisserie chicken rather than raise the price. read more

Costco always has staples in bulk, perfect for an Island visit or home life. Several Costcos on Oahu. Always have swimsuits and wrap-around sarongs- o matter the season. Sunscreen and ice cold bottled water (in the vending machine). . This is a good place for picnic supplies too: already roast chicken. Poke, crackers, Ribs and prepared salads. We like the chicken wraps - easy to handle and carry- nice ginger soy sauce dressing too. Or grab hotdogs and pizza from the cafe. I just came from Costco Hawaii Kai ... tried to purchase only 6 items. I turned all the barcodes up so the workers don't have to touch my groceries. When the cashier DIEDRE went to start unloading my stuff I told her no need it's all ready for u .., she just ignored me and kept banging my groceries on the conveyor belt. I yelled at her to stop and listen to the customer... she just covered her badge and called for a supervisor.... Then I had to listen to the supervisor apologize profusely telling me the customer has no rights and it's Costco policy to let the cashier dictate the transaction. Seriously!?? If DIEDRE can't scan 6 items in a shopping cart she should not be a cashier. Why do we have to endure incompetence so much. Everything is moved around!! I had shopping there down to a science, in and out, mapping from left to right my shopping list rounding out to the cashier. The alcohol area has expanded into the fruit and clothing area. Juices are now by bakery. Aargh! It's always a good value and quantity of items here. Best of all are the patrons. This Costco ( Hawaii Kai location) is the smallest one of many on Oahu, but it is the ONLY ONE you can pull up to in your small boat, tie up at the dock, and pick up some ice before you head out to the bay for an epic day of fishing. Therefore it doesn't have everything, but it has the nicest workers and it fits our lifestyle. It does not have a Costco gas station but we wish it did. Although customers here seem to speak languages from all over the world, most of the customer traffic is local. The Costco team shared with me that this particular Costco also has the most health conscious buyers on the island, and lots of local kapuna shop here because it is smaller and the staff are so helpful. The popular take out counter is located outside the main store doors on the adjacent lanai - which I think is nicer than being inside. Prices seem to be the same as the other Costco's on island which means this is the most budget friendly place if you can handle storing and freezing the bigger quantities. Certainly you get more for your hard earned dollar- and often twice as much or more for the same price as the nearby grocery store. Local and mainland fresh produce is available here. Also a great spot to shop for holiday gifts for all the ohana - toys, food baskets, treats, pet care needs, automotive and even some household furniture and other practical items for office or home. read more

Some of the cashiers have attitude and also the front people yells and just have no manners. It seems like this location lacks on training there employees. The employees here act like there the sh*t. I am rating on customer service. Hawaii Kai Location club #120 November 10, 24 at 10:38am -10:40am Upon leaving costco and standing in line to exit. we stood on the right lane towards the exit. The recipe checker man, on a heavier set, had no costumer service. I get it, you guys busy all damn day and your one job to mark recipes. and, Just draw a line over without thoroughly checking items... so my son excitedly ask the man to draw him a happy face. The worker quickly drew a half a$$ face and said in a run on sentence "there you go your welcome". Maybe that is not your job to draw happy faces (three extra lines) but someone that does it correctly for a 4 year old, will mean the day for them! my son was confused. Before he could say thank you, he already got a "your welcome". The definition on customer service is going above and beyond. People spend a lot of money at costco and brahhh costumer service should come with that. All I can say is what an A$$ to do that to a 4 year old. im pretty sure a manager can find out who exactly stood there. They shouldn't be working there. (Living w/Covid series) I've only recently started going to this CostCo in Hawaii Kai primarily to get Covid-related supplies. This Costco's layout is a little bit smaller and different than the others. Going in for some disinfectant wipes, they weren't in the area in the back on the right where the cleaning supplies normally are. In the HK CostCo, they're located in the front on the right where body care & health care products normally are. But the wipes weren't there either! Asking around, I found out they were in the front on the left where electronics like TVs and Apple products are! Turns out I barreled right past them when I first came in! Teach me not to have tunnel vision! Otherwise it's a standard CostCo and only a mile or two further than the Iwilei location is from my condo. Good back up spot when the island's busiest Costco is too crazy! Repeat and recommend! read more

They are open to 8:30pm. It seems like they COSTCO will let you enter until 8:30pm. One thing I realized that getting to COSTCO at a very late, close to closing time, is there was no hot chicken or ribs to obtain. However, lines went super fast. I always LOVE coming to this COSTCO in Hawaii Kai cause it's not as BUSY as the town location (Iwilei). Parking - they have LOTS and LOTS of PARKING stalls so you don't have too worry about parking at all but Heads up the one downside about their parking stalls here at Hawaii Kai Costco is that is very small so people who have SUVS or VANS trucks etc is gonna be challenging. I have not been to Costco in two months due to the COVID-19. This was especially hard since I love going to Costco on a weekly basis, but the long lines of people standing waiting to get in was too much for me. About a month ago I did attempt to go one time to the Iwilei location, but couldn't even get into the parking lot! Anyway since I'm not a hoarder, I decided to wait as I was not in dire need to get a 10 year supply of toilet paper. I heard the Hawaii Kai location was less crowded so I ventured out there. It does take an extra 20 minutes for me to drive out there versus going to the other location, but the experience was much more pleasant. I arrived at about 3 PM on a weekday, and was able to find parking right away. There was almost no line going into the Costco at that time. It's definitely a lot less crowded and the isles were even possibly wider? Maybe it's because I'm used to people standing randomly in the isles at Iwilei so they look small! It took a little longer to find items as I'm not used to this Costco, but I was still in and out of there in less time since the checkout lanes were noticeably shorter. Best of all since I was able to get milk, eggs, ice cream and chicken nuggets, the kiddos were happy! read more

went here for a simple tire rotation basically giving me every excuse in the world why they won't rotate my tires no real legit reasons,,, there was a fraction of a centimeter off between the front and the back as far as tread and he says he's not gonna rotate it complete sham. I truly prefer this location vs others in Honolulu for a few reasons. o Parking seems be easier. But when it's busy it's busy. o little less busy then the iwalei store so people here, employees as well as members, are not so stressed out. o some items are not found at all locations. Tho most Costco's have all the same product, some stores have slightly different offerings. In Hawaii Kai, there seems to be more wine choices, higher end items, and they still have a photo Dept. Right now with the coronavirus affecting everyone, we're in a new normal, so for now, this may no longer be the case. read more

Sometimes parking can be a little hard to find or far but it's nothing like Costco Iwilei. Selection of items are pretty similar to the other Costco's. The newest addition of the sushi bar is great. They even have party platters you can preorder. The fish there is as good if not better than kozo sushi. Checking out here isn't as crazy as Iwilei also. They also have self checkout but items need to be scanned and then put on the other side until all items are scanned before putting them back into your cart so I still like to go to the regular cashier. read more

Sometimes you take important vital things in your life for granted. Like Costco. Ever since Costco arrived in Hawaii Kai it became a part of our life. We buy all our staples here. I also have memberships at Sams Club and Marukai but those are just for occasional stops. They've improved their chicken Caesar salad - the chicken tastes better so it's an easy cheap healthy dinner. Also had some organic chestnuts which were so delicious. Always new things popping up to try. Over the holidays I stopped at Iwilei as I was in the area and now I appreciate the Hawaii Kai location much more. Although the HK store is smaller I like the people who work there and the smaller crowds. Also HK has self checkout! It really speeds up your visit. Just when I thought Costco were the same all over I found this one. As with all Costco's the parking was a bear and pedestrian traffic was treacherous. The food court is outside and packed with people enjoying their $1.60 hotdogs and Pepsi sodas. Inside we found the usual Costco offerings and a whole lot more. Freshly made artistic sushi had a crowd of people around it. The fish case had an assortment of fresh fish. Much more than we see on the mainland. There were Hawaiian chicken options and other Hawaiian dishes. They carry a big case of fresh assorted poke as well. Over in clothes, find sarongs for $8.99. And don't forget to pick up a surf board. Won't find those in Indiana! Prices are comparable to mainland Costco's. Still have $4.99 roasted chicken. No wonder there are always crowds. Just a great place to shop. read more

After several unpleasant trips to the highest revenue Costco in the country in Iwilei, Hawaii Kai is a piece of heaven. You have to wait in line for roasted chicken at Iwilei and when it comes out, please grab at it like it they were kids collecting candy from a piñata. Always a ton on rotisserie chicken and ribs ready to go in Hawaii Kai. I've also observed tourist vloggers film in Iwilei a few times getting in the way of customers. None of that nonsense here. So next time, take a trip to Hawaii Kai. First thing you'll notice it is only busy on the weekends and the walk from available parking to the entrance doesn't count as cardio for the day. Next is the outside food court doesn't have a line 10 people long at each window. When you enter the store, you have the same products but the store is 30% smaller meaning you don't have to walk as far. The only negative for me is the optical. Precovid, it took 6 weeks to get an appointment. I still go to Iwilei for my optical appointments. The greatest positive is it is adjacent to the Marina. Take your tires in for service, grab a $1.50 hotdog and Pepsi (another negative, come on Coke, cut Costco a deal), sit by the water and take in sunshine. If you are fancy, go to the Starbucks and spend 3x as much on a cup of coffee. If a Costco experience can be pleasant, this is as close as you'll get. read more

I enjoy coming to the Costco Hawaii kai. Its busy, but not as hectic as the Costco Iwilei. I normally check my tires at this location. Its located next to the marina. Note: Just started. 6 self check out stations. This is great. Iwilei needs to get this. Sometimes if you have a few items you can get out faster. Everything seems organized here. Looks clean here. Even the food court seems a little cleaner. This location has pretty much the same as other locations. Restrooms inside the store. Free parking. we shop weekly at Costco and we like to support local. We've been purchasing lemons and limes from Costco Hawaii Kai for a while now. Limes were $2.99/bag and lemons $4.99/bag and we never came across a single bad fruit in the bags. A few months ago, Costco switched to lemons and limes grown in Maui. The price nearly doubled but we were happy to support locally grown until we brought home bag after bag of spoilt, squishy limes and lemons. We voiced our to at least two different managers but nothing has been done regarding quality control. Even today, we had to sort through the bags to find one without very soft lemons and limes. Please have better quality control if you're charging customers double what we used to pay for excellent limes and lemons. Locally grown is great but make sure they're not rotten produce. read more

The parking lot can be crazy because they share it with other businesses but If you ever need something that you can't find at other Costco's they most likely have it here. They layout is pretty easy to navigate and the service is the best. If you are interested in wine, these guys have the best selection and great prices. The fruits and vegetables are always plentiful and fresh. The server's providing the free samples are so sweet and always encouraging people to try what they are cooking.
