Costa Vida - Sweet Pork salad - Mexican Near Me - Layton, Utah

I love this location! Every time I come here for lunch, I am in and out so fast! The employees are so kind, and the dining room is huge. There is sooo much seating! They even have a separate seating area that is a little more private. I tried their new chili lime chicken today. It was good! I'm never a fan of the new meat they get. I usually stick with the sweet pork. But I really enjoyed the new selection! read more

Terrible. They skimped on everything. Gave a pinch of each ingredient especially the meat. Sad

went through the drive-through... Bad choice! Service was good but there was almost no meat in the tacos and burritos we ordered. I don't understand why you're ordering a meat taco and a meat burrito and 99% of what you get is rice and beans. Very disappointed. No need to cheat people that are paying a price for a product. Will not be going here again. read more

I've tried this spot on a few occasions and it is just not great. My expectations for fast-Mex really aren't that high and I don't expect a stellar meal at any of them. This location lowers the bar in flavors and cleanliness. The meats tend to be overcooked and most of the items they are putting in your meal seem bland and flavorless. You can't find any hot sauce to tune it up and are stuck with greasy cheese flavored jerky. In a tortilla. Taking in to account we are transitioning through COVID and staffing issues, when you visit at 3pm on a Sunday, count 2 customers and 6 employees, there really isn't a reason for such filth. Dirty tables, dirty floors, garbage cans than look like they haven't been cleaned ever and prep stations that look horrendous. This visit was so bad I chose not to even order and picked up a sandwich at another fast food spot. I hope they get it together. This is a nice outfit with a good location and plenty of room inside for a good dining experience. read more

Gave me brown bad avacado when I asked for some and charged me extra for the bad avacado. As well as a tiny sprinkle of cheese instead of my burrito being smothered in cheese. read more

NO HORCHATA!! Got a drink assuming they would have their specialty drinks like horchata but went to get it and they were all out so I asked if they had more to fill it up or had some at the pick up area but they said no more, so I asked if I could get a return on the cup since I no longer wanted a drink and they said they wouldn't. Lived in Layton for 20+ years their service is absolutely garbage lately. Horrible location every other locations never have a problem at. Will not go back to this location ever. Also there was like no meat in any of our meals and no refried beans. They were out of so much but not willing to refill any of it. Horrible Managment. read more

This is a joke. I ordered (through the drive-thru) some grilled chicken nachos and paid an additional $2 for a large queso to get a half filled container and a missing 2oz queso (that comes automatically) with my nachos. Additionally my kids cheese quesadilla was a complete mess. I asked for no rice and substitute for more refried beans, and this is what was given. The portions were awful and packaging was horrible. This isn't the first time this location has screwed up. Please do better. read more

READ!! If you haven't tried COSTA VIDA in Kaysville, Utah you MUST and here's why. I haven't had a meal from there that wasn't the best Mexican food and their customer service is superb and CHINO, the person in charge, definitely goes out of his way to make SURE you are happy with everything! He recently personally delivered my food and added a free slice of their delicious Key Lime Pie for me to make up an error from the day before all of which he did NOT have to do. Very impressed with this young man and I know he'll go far in his career. I thank you once again Chino and I'll be coming back real soon! 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!!! read more

I visited the Layton location at 7:30 and their drive-thru was closed?? At 7:30?? The restaurant itself didn't close for another half hour, but I had littles in the car and chose Costa Vida because they are typically great quality while also convenient. I don't feel like 7:30 is that late to be grabbing dinner... read more

What the heck is going on?? Added extra chicken to my order and this is what I get $2 doesn't sound like a lot, but this amount of chicken should cost only 25 cents. read more

My whole family loves the food here. We are regulars. The manager and all employees were so nice and helpful when I forgot my purse there. It was kept safe until I could return. read more

The staff are very slow and I had to wait forever in the drive thru. The food portions are small and not cooked all the way through. Worst experience ever! read more

I always order through the drive through and it's usually really fast. Food is good quality. They close a bit early so occasionally I'll drive to the cafe Rio nearby instead. read more

They always forget something whenever we order. Guacamole, chips and queso,, kid's meal drink, or ninos. I usually just let it go, but I called today and wanted a refund for the chips and queso we didn't get. The first person couldn't look it up with my name, the order number, or even the exact time of pickup I gave them. I asked if they had a senior worker or a manager that could help them. Someone else came over and acted like they could look it up with the order. She told me she would find it and refund it, and by her tone and the fact that she got off the phone with me before it was done, I'm 100% sure we didn't get the refund. Costa Vida has gone way down hill. We won't be visiting this location again. read more

Talk about moving people through at a high pace, yet keeping customer service as their priority!!! Stopped by for lunch and they were busy. The line was long, but moved at a respectable speed. The people working the line were friendly and attentive. When they were taking my order, there was 100% focus. They made it very apparent that you were there priority at that moment. The food was good. My wife had the beef nachos and was happy with her meal. I had a cheese quesadilla and enjoyed it as well. The portions were large and pricing was fair. The rice was a little on the cooler side (the reason for the 1 star deduction) As far as cleanliness is concerned... for as large of a lunch crowd that they had, the dining area was spotless!!! Definitely impressed by the staffs commitment to all around great service. Overall... worth a visit. We will be back. read more

Love the new location!! More room and there's a drive thru now! The best part for me is that they have pebble ice now, it makes a difference for me!! Lol. I've been a few times since the new location opened and it seems way busier so I think it was a good move for them. I always try to get the special of the day when I go because it's a bargain. It's not the best most authentic Mexican food but it's pretty darn good!! read more

Only rice in burrit, tiny tiny bit of sweet pork, which I paid for. So dis I love costa

It's not a bad place. The food is actually pretty good. Can't say if it is authentic Mexican since I have never been to Mexico. But I can say the burrito is pretty decent. Lots of meat and other fillings to make the thing quite large. Could be me but the flavors seemed a bit mild, though something on the stronger side would be overpowering. Overall, not a bad place to eat. read more

Zero stars. This location is a joke. The manager is so rude. I ordered a salad bar with catering and got individual packaged meals. I ordered a bar because there were vegetarians. The manager said "I don't do bars for 30 people it's too hard" so people didn't get to eat. The third party catering company I ordered through asked him to deliver an individual salad with no meat and he refused. He is a total prick. read more

Big location, online pickup had a very long wait time on Saturday evening when I went & the in person ordering line was empty

I usually love Costa Vida. This location seemed a bit off. I felt like they were in such a hurry, which resulted in carelessness. The counter they were using to prepare our food was so messy. The gentleman preparing our food kept touching other things, such as the ceiling, with his gloves on and then continued to prepare customer's tacos. Our order was not correct and they were completely out of black beans. read more

Had the steak salad for 10 bucks and change. It was delicious. I had the tomatillo ranch dressing so yummy. I'm not a salad person but I have to admit this was really good. Good portion of steak I couldn't finish it. I ordered online for pick up and it still tasted good after pick up! read more

We ordered through DoorDash tonight and half of our order was missing. We've been calling for 15 minutes and no one answers the phone. My husband couldn't join us for dinner as he had to run to McDonalds so he wouldn't starve. It's a 20 minute round trip to Costa Vida and not worth the hassle. You'd think we would have learned from our last experience which was 6 months ago when they also forgot half of our order. I had to go back inside three times before they got it right. They were in such a hurry and not paying attention to me or the long line of customers also having questions about their pick up. Don't think we'll try for a third chance. read more

Was very disappointed in the serving size in comparison to other Costa Vida that we have enjoyed previously. $5 for queso that was less than 2/3 of the serving dish. Every portion was extremely skimpy for the amount charged. If I compared their pictures to what we actually received, it looked like we may have received half of the amount used for their pictures. Won't be boring this location again read more

To start I love Costa Vida but this specific branch has been a disappointment every time. First time I went they got my order wrong, second time I went the girl making my salad put her hand in the trash can and proceed to make my meal without changing her gloves and the third time they completely screwed up my order again, only giving me lettuce and shrimp when I asked for a salad with at least one or two other fixings on it. Although I like the idea of the drive thru window, it takes forever and you cannot pickup to go orders from there, you have to go inside. read more

Generally I get good service from the Layton location but tonight I was extremely dissatisfied with the service I received. They took one of our order and forgot to take three more orders and instead started the order for the family behind us. As the pushy woman was ordering more meals, I just stood there in the line glaring at the employees waiting . They made the woman three of her orders before they finished mine and I had to tell them that I wasn't finished ordering several times. To add to my complaint I did not get the rice and beans with my meal . The customer service sucks at this place! read more

This is a great establishment to grab a quick Tex Mex bite. We ordered the Sweet Pork and Chicken Salads! Always a great go-to!

The food here is the quality you should expect from a aluminum tin tex-mex fast food joint. The salad is pretty good and the fresh tortillas are very tasty. I always get the tres Leche cake and horchata. Good In the lines of chipotle, moes, cafe Rio, Bajio. read more

Costa Vida - Lunch time with my beautiful wife - Mexican Near Me - Layton, Utah

Welp, I'll keep it simple. Here's the highlights: They almost always get the order wrong; literally right after you tell them. They are THEEE slowest. Holy smokes. Their assistant manager makes you feel far from welcome. My least favorite Costa Vida. The one in farmington kicks this ones butt, hands down. Love the Farmington location. Usually pretty quick, and the staff is nice. read more

I love the new location! The food is always good and the employees are always so nice. My kids love "Mexican food" and beg me to take them weekly. I love the sweet pork salad, like half of Utah, but it really is good! #lfthx read more

We visited the Layton Location on May 4th at approximately 8 PM. We decided to go inside as the line was long in the drive thru. Upon reaching where you order you food I was taken back by how dirty the food prep are was. I'm not just talking a little dirty but filthy, food everywhere. It looked like they hadn't wiped down the area in hours. The other thing that struck me was that only half the employees were wearing masks. Here we are in the midst of a pandemic and several employees aren't wearing masks. Honestly, we should have just left but it was late and I really wanted a salad. When we got to the register to pay, I used my debit card and was then was asked to sign the screen, I went to sign and caught myself, THE SCREEN WAS FILTHY! It had dried food, smears of who knows what. I said to the cashier that I wasn't touching the screen as it had t been sanitized in who knows how long, expecting them to say let me clean that they instead said what should I do? I told them Scribble a signature as they were obviously not going to sanitize it. I was so disturbed by the whole experience that I emailed Costa Vida and they obviously don't care either as I have never heard back from them. I won't be visiting this location again. read more

So I went through drive-through and I'm at the speaker box for literally like 10 minutes trying to see if anyone was there so I ended up just placing an order and I went to the window the drive-through window so after 20 minutes of unprofessionalism I gave them a call to see will if they are still open because it shows on Google that they close at nine so I called them and they were like oh we close our drive-through window early so we can start cleaning well how about being a little more professional and putting a sign up so people don't waste their time they just lost a five-year customer just based on their unprofessionalism. If you guys are smart, go to the Kaysville location they are so much nicer. The food is better and if you were to go through the drive-through speaker box, they will acknowledge you are there versus just you know avoiding customers by saying oh I would lobby is still open and drive-through is there for a reason read more

We went through the drive thru at 11:36 and they messed up our meals, they gave us pork instead of steak but still charged us for the steak. My boyfriend is VERY allergic to pork so we went back to the store and waited for over an hour for no one to even address that we were waiting it took my boyfriend stopping them and asking for help. They remade only one meal even though the rest was cold by then, the food was WRONG AGAIN, we finally left the store at 1:11 with no refund, cold food, terrible service, and a still wrong order. I tried to call the store and the phones were disconnected after the third ring. read more

I ordered a salad. There are two options for salad dressing. I did not get the one I ordered. I called them to ask if they had run out of the other one. They did not. Maybe they can't read maybe they're just stupid I don't understand giving somebody the wrong item when you've not run out of the correct item. I also paid for extra meat which I obviously did not get. This salad had slightly less meat than the normal amount I get in Brigham city when I don't order extra meat. read more
