I have never done this, writing 3 reviews while increasing my rating every time! Every experience here is great as the people that work here seem to clearly be engaged in their job! But this last experience blew it away... I thought they closed at 10 but they actually closed at 9 as I show up at 8:45, luckily there was a guy ordering for his family so I didn't feel so bad. I apologized for being so late but they were also apologetic as I had to wait for the guy ahead of me (not a problem). The employees are so nice and engage in conversation which is nice! I can't up-sell this place enough other than standing on the curb twirling a sign! Also once again the queso!!! Buy chips or drink it with a straw, your choice! I have so many thoughts, I'm trying to put them all together, but I'm happy to increase my rating to 4 stars! After the owner invited me to meet with him and have a Costa Vida experience... I'm very impressed! The passion and excitement he had was absolutely contagious and made me just as excited about the food! If you like Chipotle, you may enjoy this place. The good: The ingredients seems fresh and tasty... portions seem to match pricing. For me, the bad is: Their idea of a salad is a large burrito tortilla (warmed but not fried) in an aluminum pan. As you chose your ingredients, I do not see what makes a salad different from a burrito! Thumbs down on the not-fried-burrito-shell salad. Ok, after going to the Colleyville store numerous times, somehow the Flower Mound store pales in comparison. We thought we'd try this place again before making the drive to Colleyville. Again it was a big disappointment. The tortillas were made in advance and were cool unlike Colleyville's which always makes them fresh and hot. The sweet pork was not tender like the other store. And, the amount of meat that was put on our burritos was ridiculously minuscule. The amount of sauce was incredibly small and so was the cheese. So, basically the burrito was filled with beans and rice with a few strands of meat, and they were all Luke warm. Look, your restaurant has some issues that if not resolved, will be the death of it. Have been to previous costa visas in the past, and usually love it. This particular location was disorganized and took a while for food. Too many highschool kids working and talking not paying attention. Ordered chips and queso and was given cup dripping all over the side. Excellent service! The staff was mostly young men and they were all so friendly and helpful. This was my first time at Costa Vida and they helped navigate me through the menu and gave me recommendations. I settled on the raspberry chicken tacos and they did not disappoint! There is good and bad about this. The good. The ambience is good for a fast food joint. The limonada and horchata are excellent. The cooking of the burrito is a nice touch. The fresh tortillas are good probably need more cooking. The not so great. I had the green chili sauce and it was sweet. They have the potential to be great but the food is a little pricey for what you actually get but they generally have good flavors. The most annoying part about eating there is you have to buy the salsa to put on your food. Mmm, what to say. Is not that is bad, is just not for me. Is the same concept as Chipotle. Giant flour tortillas with lots of fat inside. UPDATE: the Colleyville location is better. The tortilla, for some reason is re-heated on the grill so it becomes very hard. The Colleyville location keeps them soft and chewy. Think chipotle but 10 times better. If you've never been here before, try: Regular salad with sweet pork and with the chunky mango salsa...with guacamole, tortilla chips, cilantro I also get a side of cilantro dressing but it's definitely not for every I've hated driving all the way Colleyville for years to eat Costa and am SO glad they finally opened one near meeee. read more

To be honest, I dont know what happened to this place, it used to be somehow "decent" when it first opened up (still fast food) The employees have always been clueless, super slow as well as careless about their customers. They never have enough ingredients on the front and they are way too lazy to go get them in the back. Drink station is always "closed" and the food is made without any effort. There's never anybody working in the front of the house. Currently sitting in an empty restaurant, my order was supposed to be ready 20 minutes ago and it's still not ready. Their tortillas are made by hand literally in front of you, and the food is fresh and high quality. They have unique salsas like mango habanero, raspberry and red enchilada, to name a few. Went here for the first time. The place did not have many selections for the burrito, and no variety for salsas, and no hot sauces at all. My wife had a grilled chicken salad bowl and they didn't get it and charged extra for the chicken. On top of that, the music playing on the speakers was horrible and unpleasant. Costa Vida is clean and you won't regret eating there for the first time... but, I wouldn't go there second time. It's honestly a off brand chipotle without the amazing flavor. My mom went with me and she's vegetarian, she didn't even get guacamole as a meat substitute as chipotle kindly does. The queso was watery but the guacamole was decent. We've become regulars over the past few weeks. The salads and the taco dinners are our gotos. Both the chicken and the shredded beef are super tasty and fresh (We'll eventually try more :). I've tried the various sauces and dressings and I really enjoy them all, some are sweet and tangy some more medium spicy, nothing very spicy but you can add green tobasco for a kick as my hubby does or not like me. I do sometimes get fresh sliced jalepenos on the side. The baja texmex flavors that Costa Vida has are unique and yummy fusions. Restaurant was clean and staff was pleasant. Food was just average. The enchiladas were really just soft tacos that were rolled and then heated up. The overall taste was not very good and the consistency of the "enchiladas" was mushy. The refried beans were awful and ran all over the plate. Black beans were ok. Rice was good but the portion was pretty skimpy as was the lettuce and pico. Glad we didn't pay more than $7.99 for the entrees. I wouldn't rank it any higher than taco bell. My first time in was last night for dinner. The restaurant was very full. My first impressions on the store was California it's nicely decorated with pictures of surfing and and colorful tables. After joining the lines I ended up with the daily special of two chicken enchiladas with green sauce, cheese, and pico. (+ free drink)Some members in my family have a gluten allergy so they requested corn tortillas, it stood out to me and my family how friendly the staff were in willing to wash their hands and reclean anything that would cross contaminated. The food was good was definitely be back. Our chips were a little undercooked a manager stopped by and got us a new batch and told us he would fix the problem. Yesterday, March 20th my husband and I went to Costa Vida for dinner to support Faith Lutheran Day School. It was our first time to eat there. Renee was very helpful and explained how to order. I asked her what she recommended. She recommended the chile verde, but told us that it was available for a limited time only. We ordered chile verde burritos. Their chile verde was THE BEST I have ever had! I went back today for lunch and had it again. My husband had the shredded beef tacos today and said the were DELICIOUS. The rice and beans were amazing!! But very disappointed with my entree. The grilled steak tasted awful and was very sweet, which I understand why it's sweet to go with the vibe of Costa Rica. The enchiladas to me tasted very bad, didn't taste grilled, and i wasn't satisfied at all with my meal. As well as my sister, her shrimp tacos didn't taste good at all and she wasn't satisfied with her entree.
