It seems like business has been a little strained lately with price increases and menu options decreasing (RIP pollo tirado) but I'm happy to keep my money local so I oblige. You have the option to eat in if you choose (no table service). It seems like folks opt for eating there less compared to pre-pandemic times. I like eating on site in the summer since they have a covered outdoor area. It's definitely a great place to visit and certainly better than the chipotle that just came to town! I wish they had a rewards system like chipotle, but I still love them regardless!

We kicked things off with the Triple Dipper for the table--a giant basket of warm, fresh tortilla chips served with salsa roja, guacamole, and queso, with the guacamole and queso being absolute standouts. For my main, I ordered the Ensalada Verde and a slightly citrusy kale salad tossed with seasoned tortilla strips and extra pepitas. It was remarkably well-balanced, perfectly dressed, very tasty, and visually lovely, too! Thr service and atmosphere truly made the entire evening. Our server was friendly and attentive, effortlessly accommodating our request to split the bill three ways without missing a beat. And, even with the bustling atmosphere and the incredible amount of vibrant, intricate decor packed into the space, the restaurant was remarkably clean and well-maintained. It is always impressive to see a spot that has been open for a while keep up such pristine standards. We wrapped up our meal by sharing an order of churros--six hot, chewy sticks served with a spicy chocolate dipping sauce and whipped cream. The chocolate had a serious, wonderful kick to it, and the whipped cream was a lifesaver for balancing out the spice for those of us who love more heat than we can actually handle. Every time I lament the fact I spent money to eat there... I had read that this was a good one on the 'Where Syracuse Eats' Facebook page, which can be a pit of snakes at times. I decided to bookmark it, as a 'just in case' I was ever passing through Waterloo. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical when my mom and I walked in around 5:30-5:45 p.m. and not a soul was in the place. Apparently, people in Waterloo eat dinner around 6 p.m. so the place was popping as we were eating and then leaving. My mom is a vegetarian so we shared the vegetarian combo D plate. I ate the tostaguac and she had the enchilada, and we shared the rice. I normally find the rice at Mexican restaurants to be underwhelming, even at my favorite spot in Detroit. This was delicious and I ate it! (There may have been some debate on who should get the last few bites of rice!) I also ordered a side of their hot salsa. I think this was $2 but it was so good and so worth it. The regular salsa was fine but not spicy at all. Service was fast once we decided what to order. No pictures because I was too excited by an actual Mexican place within a reasonable distance from me! Skip the places in Syracuse and come to La Fiesta Brava!
