Like most of the other reviews share...it's not fancy, but we prefer quality food, friendly fast service, cleanliness, portion size and value and this place delivers!! I got the el combo for $20, it was outstanding and I couldn't finish it. Chips & sales are also excellent. Authentic Mexican food, give it a try! The only negatives to share are the bench seats are a bit worn and there were a lot of flys, which probably means the back door of the kitchen is open during the day.

We had no expectations when walking in, we were hungry and didn't want fast food. We were greeted by a very friendly lady who sat us and gave us menus and water. Our server came over with chips and salsa. The chips were pretty standard but the salsa was very good, not too spicy but but thick and flavorful. The menu is large, it took us a while to decide but our server was very patient. I ordered the combination of enchilada, burrito and chalupa. My friend had a large chicken and mushroom burrito with rice and beans and cheese sauce.our meals came out very quickly. Our food was hot and we both really enjoyed our meals. The refried beans were the best I've ever had and I ordered aan extra side to go. The enchilada sauce was very good and the cheese sauce was excellent. We are definitely coming back to try more!

Waitress was very polite. Highly suggest the Hawaiian Fajita. This is the only time I had Mexican food served in half of a pineapple. Also never had seen purple salt. They do things different in Waterloo from down south. Hope to eat there again soon!

First place I found around the area that serves a good, real Mexican breakfast. I ordered the huevos rancheros, which is 3 eggs with a fresh sauce, mexican rice, pinto beans, and tortillas. They have a lot of other breakfast options, including American style breakfast. I'll come back when I'm in the area again to try the lunch/dinner menu, which is very extensive. The ambiance is classic Mexican casual, the food was very tasty, prices were reasonable, and the service was very attentive.

if you're thinking about going to Monterrey Mexican Grill, don't even finish this review and just go. i promise you won't be disappointed. the waiter was very attentive & informative! he joked around with our party throughout the service, the service was actually super fast. i took a whole 8 minutes to order the food, i would say the food came out in less than that time. needless to say; BEST MEXICAN FOOD EVER. i've been to el paso, texas (boarder of mexico) and this food had more flavor. the vibe was very traditional, beautiful colors on all the walls, even the tables embodied the mexican experience.

Portions were huge, food was authentic and tasty. No pics, but arroz con pollo and the el paso were excellent with enough for lunch tomorrow

Every time I lament the fact I spent money to eat there... I had read that this was a good one on the 'Where Syracuse Eats' Facebook page, which can be a pit of snakes at times. I decided to bookmark it, as a 'just in case' I was ever passing through Waterloo. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical when my mom and I walked in around 5:30-5:45 p.m. and not a soul was in the place. Apparently, people in Waterloo eat dinner around 6 p.m. so the place was popping as we were eating and then leaving. My mom is a vegetarian so we shared the vegetarian combo D plate. I ate the tostaguac and she had the enchilada, and we shared the rice. I normally find the rice at Mexican restaurants to be underwhelming, even at my favorite spot in Detroit. This was delicious and I ate it! (There may have been some debate on who should get the last few bites of rice!) I also ordered a side of their hot salsa. I think this was $2 but it was so good and so worth it. The regular salsa was fine but not spicy at all. Service was fast once we decided what to order. No pictures because I was too excited by an actual Mexican place within a reasonable distance from me! Skip the places in Syracuse and come to La Fiesta Brava!

We waited for over 20 minutes before we left. To their defense, they were totally overwhelmed. should've been their biggest moneymaker of the year Cinco de Mayo and they failed miserably. I'll never go back there. Was never really impressed with their food anyways this is no shape or form of authentic Mexican food. The ambience has much to be desired as well. It was a filthy dump.

Service - 4/5 - great recs, friendly. Ambiance - 3/5 - nicer downstairs. Overall - 4/5 - the spot to go to for Mexican in Skaneateles. Have had better Mexican before but the food us tasty as hell and the portions will leave you stuffed. My girlfriend couldn't even order an entree after appetizers lol. A ton of tequila options. Definitely order the Birria Pizza, but beware of its size. Service was great, Devin was very sweet and gave great recommendations. We did not feel rushed at all. Inside is fine, nothing really crazy. Great place and one of the Skaneateles staples. Best Dish - Birria Pizza, Lalo Tequila Would Return - Absolutely

We were immediately seated for a late lunch on a Saturday. There was a large staircase to the second level so be aware of accessibility. Our service was off to a slow start but everything was too delicious. We shared the triple dipper (salsa, guac and queso) amongst 5 people, it was plenty to share and they offered to bring more chips. We all got tacos (steak, chicken and carnitas) the other 2 guests ordered chimichangas. Everyone thought their food was delicious. The chimichangas were humongous and could probably feed you for a week The restaurant itself was very clean. It had tons of natural lighting and very trendy decor. It photographs well and has a unique look for a Mexican restaurant

What an incredible experience…read more This restaurant gives meaning to the saying, "never judge a book from its cover." The reason I say that is, it's unassuming from the outside. Connected to an auto repair shop to the left and liquor store on the right. Arriving, we saw only a handful of tables that weren't cleared off from past customers. We waited by the front door not realizing you order from the window which is hidden in the corner. We were greeted by a friendly young lady and after we placed in our orders, we sat ourselves and waited for our food to arrive. The first thing to arrive was the guacamole with chips. We found the guacamole to be less chunky as we'd like, but nevertheless it was pleasant. The chips were overly salted in our opinion but did not take away from the dish. Then came the al pastor tacos. These were absolutely delicious. The pork was wonderfully marinated, and the toppings added to the entire taco rather than overpower the pork. We also opted in for the shrimp tacos, which were also quite delicious. Ordering a couple of empanadas, one steak and one al pastor, these were phenomenal. Taking a bite of each, you can identify everything inside these perfectly fried parcels. Very very good. I can confidentially say, this is the best Mexican food I've ever eaten and easily beats any of our Mexican restaurants here in Rochester. But a fair warning to future patrons. Don't expect to walk in and expect a full-service restaurant. Waiting times can be a little longer than expected as well. But the upside is receiving delicious, made-to-order food made with love and care. We'd make the trip to Sodus just to revisit this restaurant.
