    the interior of a restaurant

We went for breakfast at Cosmos cafe and we came out very impressed. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The restaurant has four different seating areas and each area has a very unique and beautiful interior. We ordered mueseli with fruits & yogurt, vegetarian casserole with poached eggs, latte, filter coffee and an espresso shot. Everything was so delicious. Probably one of the best breakfast we have had in a long time.

The huge fruit, yogurt and bagel plate was delicious.

We were staying at the Hotel Quartier for 5 nights. On our last day, we ate at Cosmos, because the hotel restaurant was full of young children from a tour bus. The hotel staff recommended Cosmos as we could walk there. We were immediate seated and fresh brewed coffee brought to our table by a very cheerful server. He spoke perfect English. My sister ordered the fruit plate with yogurt, & a bagel. The fruit portion was enormous. I ordered a bacon & cheese omelet that came with diced potatoes and homemade wheat toast. It was really tasty and the bread wonderful. My husband ordered the traditional breakfast with sausage, scrambled eggs, diced potatoes, and toast. By far, we thought this was the best breakfast we had in Quebec. Wish we had found this restaurant our first day. What made the breakfast even better was our server. He was so upbeat and sincere in making sure we were enjoying our breakfast. We would recommend travelers and locals to patronize this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

A trendy spot that does a nice breakfast so I am told. Was here for soup yesterday with my co-worker.

A nice moxie or Earls kind of place, trendy, busy, a bit fancy, a bit expensive. Was taken here for lunch. Loved the vegetable soup. Over all it's seemed ok. I came back the next day for breakfast and it seems like a lot of business people meet up here. My eggs were good if maybe a bit small the sausages were a bit rough but tastes good and the hashbrowns were very savoury but had a bit of a salty stale oil sort of taste but it was not off putting. I'd come back if I was around here.

    House fries. Quite tasty.

This place is more like a 3.5 stars - decor is trendy (they recently renovated the bar area, it's super pretty), crowd is diverse, menu has several types of options and it's open "late" (kitchen closes at 11, which is later than most restaurants in the area). Service tends to be on the friendly side but sometimes it feels a little hurried (or fake). Now, food. Cosmos is always a great pick for brunch, they have lots of fresh juice and smoothie options, and the plates are huge and come with a side of fresh fruit. If this were exclusively a brunch restaurant, Cosmos would get an extra star, as to me this is where they truly shine. But if you're going for lunch or dinner... Well. Your experience may vary. Pizza or pasta is usually fine. I like the home fries too. I just wouldn't get the tartar or the fish. Also, the salads are gigantic - I used to always get the Brazil one ; if you need to up your daily ration of fruit&veg, definitely get that! It has chicken, cashews and all sorts of fresh fruit. Yummy mix. All in all, a decent choice if you're in the area but don't go out of your way to eat here. It's not fancy bistro fare, but it's got enough to please everyone. It's also good for groups and family outings (they have a kids menu).

Fun, eclectic place with good food. Pasta dishes are excellent. Kind of loud with tables close together but not too bad.

Personally, it was a treat for me trying out something different, but I do not think everyone would appreciate its almost raw meat and liver-like texture. The Tartare comes with fries, a salad, and crouton to round up the order. We upgraded the side of fries that came with the Tartare into their Tout Cochon poutine. I was happy with that option that way I was able to sample their house poutine without needing to dedicate a full meal order for it. I can say this was among the best poutines I have had. The gravy was rich and flavourful. The poutine was also loaded with a variety of different proteins like the Gaspor farm ham and the bacon-wrapped sausage. The perron cheese curds also perfectly topped off the whole dish. Our last order was the Quebec pork chop marinated and grilled with maple and tamari. It was served with apple chutney, sweet potato mash, and seasonal vegetables. It is exactly as you would expect with the ingredient details of the dish's name. You get a lot of different flavour profiles and textures with the meal order. Some saltiness with the pork chop then some sweetness with the apple chutney. Meaty tenderness with the pork chop, mushiness with the potato mash, and then some slightly crunchiness with the seasonal vegetables. We dined on Sunday lunchtime the day before Family Day. There were people waiting to be seated by the time we arrived, but fortunately our group of only 2 people has a table spot available so did not need to wait. We were led down flights of stairs to the lower floor which was level with the street below. The whole place with its classic walls and decor exudes with classic charm.

By the time we were finished our meal, there was a half block line out the door. This is a tightly packed restaurant with several 2 seater and some 4 seater booths with a bit of a mezzanine for customers. The staff are super efficient, friendly, and delivered the food quickly. This has a more diner feel but with the Quebec French feel. We had the: - house lemonade - soup of the day (pea) - la cochonne; this is a breakfast poutine with eggs on top, very filling and delicious, ham, sausage, etc. all chopped into bite sized and topped with sauce and cheese, for poutine lovers - le migneron; this is a standard looking breakfast with french toast, homestyle potatoes, veggies, ham/cheese/eggs, and more maple syrup on everything, best option if you don't know what you want to eat while getting the feel of the place This is another great place to visit while in Quebec, this is located in Old Quebec Ports and the walk leads you through some of the older buildings of the city as well as past many art galleries. A very nice walk, but come early, else you'll be waiting in line!

It's conveniently located near Old Town's main attractions, as well as other food spots and shops. The ambiance inside is lovely, and the staff was welcoming and friendly throughout our visit. We ordered the French onion soup and a classic crêpe with egg, ham, cheese, and seasonal vegetables. The French onion soup was absolutely outstanding--easily one of the best I've ever had. The crêpe was equally delicious and far better than what we typically find back home. The only options for the egg were scrambled or over-easy, which felt a bit limited. Also worth noting: no Coke Zero, but Diet Coke is available. Overall, this spot is a must-visit if you're craving authentic crêpes and exceptional French onion soup.

The meal was mostly a hit with the shredded duck savory crepes a big hit. The French Onion soup was also very delicious! I did debate whether to try the dessert versions but ultimately stuck with the savory. The only miss was the La Cannoise, with ricotta, spinach, olives, tomato sauce, egg and pesto which was not a hit. Just a weird combination of flavors that I guess I don't find mesh well, this dish was mostly left behind. Service was really friendly and helpful.
